Foster The People
^Me too!! I love the album, I'm enjoying it so much more than I thought I would based on the first couple of singles (not that I didn't like them). I'm actually really annoyed that I missed them when they toured (pre album release) a couple of months back.

Agreeing with everything you guys have said. I can't call myself a big fan, in fact I don't think I've ever listened to a single album of theirs start-to-finish. And I know that their live show has really gone downhill in the past couple of years, so perhaps it's for the best. I wonder if their side projects will be any good. And yes, bring in the fresh blood!

What have you learned today?
The site my uni is located on is being sold to be turned into apartments, possibly even as early as next year. Which means I might have to move interstate just to finish my degree :wreck:

Exactly my thinking too. I plan to be right up the front for the other two nights unless there is a huge clash. But I'll be REALLY annoyed if anyone clashes with either Kanye or Coldplay. I'm guessing Regina will headline the GW McLennan tent, it seems to be the more-folky/acoustic-less-pop/electronic of the two other stages. Last year I only actually spent one night at the main stage until the end of the night, now I think about it.

Oh really? I assumed that Kanye would be headlining the Friday night after the article said this: I hope one of the other stages has an awesome lineup on the night Jane's Addiction are playing. I can't see myself lining up to see them.

Are you going to any shows? I guess it is pretty bad timing, I didn't really notice that when the lineup came out a couple of months ago. I think the lineup is great! disappointed Bat for Lashes didn't want to make a little trip up to Brisbane though. http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/28657/Splendour-camping-tickets-sold-out Interesting article about who's headlining when at Splendour and a couple of other little things.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I love ukuleles! I've had a soft spot for them ever since I got one for my birthday last year (I didn't particularly want one, my friend just got me one :P)

Oh I see. Until the past few weeks I hadn't been listening to much radio this year. I know I said it before, but I'm really loving everything I'm hearing from Seeker Lover Keeper.

Ohhhhhh so THAT'S why they've had so many same-y LATWs lately. Sufjan would be awesome!

Perfect moments in music
I feel like I shouldn't watch/listen to any of the clips in this thread until I've fixed the headphones jack on my laptop. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7w5zn7cyRQ]The Antlers - Prologue/Kettering[/ame] The whole thing of these two songs put together... just... I don't even know :bigcry: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaVE4WVlsDQ]Foals - Spanish Sahara[/ame] Again, the whole thing..

At least after Splendour we should have plenty of LATWs to keep us going :D Starting to try and get things organised for Splendour, not going to be as easy as last year though because I've got to come up with most of the camping stuff myself this time haha!

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Tell me I'm pathetic, but I'm STILL cut up about the whole Brisbane setlist thing. I don't think I've ever sulked over something so much in my life. :P ... I don't know what's wrong with me, either :bigcry: Oh, and I quite like Map of Your Head. But then my sister and I have this little private joke thing with that song so that's probably why :P The Muse song I find most annoying is probably... yeah, Guiding Light :P

Haha, all good. I'd hope you didn't really think I was serious! And yeah so am I. Thinking of just turning it off and listening to something a bit more appropriate for my assignments.

Splendour sideshows perhaps? Violet, just come holiday over here between 29 July and 1 August and come to Splendour. I think tickets are still on sale. And it's not like they're all that expensive anyway :P

Loving Your Local Music Scene
I love the Brisbane music scene. There is of course a lot of crap as well, but there are always local talents about. Living inner city it's quite easy for me to go and see local bands, and it's just usually time and money get in the way.

What it means to be....
Interesting thread. I know that during the floods I got extremely sick of the media portraying us as hardworking, tough, and always willing to lend a hand to our neighbours etc. This is all well and good but really, isn't that just human nature? If you see someone in trouble, chances are you will want to help them. That's not specific to any race or nationality. No matter where you come from there are going to be hard-working people, charitable people, open-minded people, closed-minded people and some just plain idiotic people. That's just the way society runs, no matter where in the world it is. I also tend to feel more patriotism towards the city I live in (not even going to mention the little town I grew up in, haha), but most of that is just for the purposes of a little bit of fun (i.e. State of Origin - an annual football competition between two states). In saying that, I think that it is a good thing to feel a little bit of pride for your country, even if it's just to provide some sort of motivation to make it a better place for other people to live. Hopefully that made a little bit of sense, it's late here :P
