  2. Chamomile tea is not compatible with assignmenting. Soooo sleeeepy
  3. There isn't a proper thread (that I could find, anyway) about these guys so I thought I'd start one up. For those of you who don't know them, Friendly Fires are an English "dance-punk" band hailing from St Albans, and they're AWESOME. Their debut self-titled album was released back in 2008, featuring songs such as: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofRCldHb7X0]Friendly Fires - Jump in the Pool[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyA8zfouG4Y]Friendly Fires - Skeleton Boy[/ame] And on the deluxe version, this little gem: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK0H3jEwUYc]Friendly Fires - Kiss of Life[/ame] Their sophomore release 'Pala' was released just last week and in my opinion it's equally as good! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArfRdgi8BlE]Friendly Fires - Live Those Days Tonight[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OswTmc2bZYQ]Friendly Fires - Hawaiian Air[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWl0_JUqfEE&feature=related]Friendly Fires - Pull Me Back to Earth[/ame]
  4. Negative. Bon Iver
  5. Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver
  6. That one's close behind. But then, they all are... I need help.

  8. Nice bump, thanks for those! I've been listening to these guys so much lately. Spanish Sahara remains to be one of my favourite songs, like, ever.
  9. Foster the People - Torches
  10. New album sounds like the weirdest party I've ever been to in my life.
  11. Megalomania, what?? How long has it been since they've played that?? :bomb:
  12. Listening to the album for the first time right now. First impression = STUNNING
  13. dark chocolate-coated roasted coffee beans mmmm
  14. Not as many as I need to... but some days I have 9 hours of class so I hardly feel like studying at the end of the day :\ Right now I've got a bazillion pieces of assessment coming up so I'm spending maybe 3 or 4 hours a day on that
  15. I can't decide which version of Piledriver Waltz I like better :bomb:
  16. Hmm, interesting playlist. Pixies to Warpaint to David Bowie to Korn. I must have only just missed them this morning! Don't think I'll bother with the Trial Kennedy album. I was never a huge fan of their past stuff and there's already so much great music coming out lately (most of it not australian unfortunately). Really enjoying the stuff from Seeker Lover Keeper, with Sarah Blasko, Sally Seltman and Holly Throsby though! 17. Bahaha. I actually liked the last album, but I'll admit I'd kind of forgotten about them until this morning when I heard a snippet of the new song on the radio. And that's great you found someone willing to travel up here with you! Good luck arriving here Thursday night, I know there were some pretty horrific traffic jams on the Thursday night last year :\ they are trying to fix that this year though.
  18. Oh whaaaat?? I had a little Killers moment today. I listened to them for about two hours :wacky: "Heavy rock lullaby" on the new album? That's sure to make even more 'older' fans unhappy...
  19. Not yet, but I heard a little snippet of it on the radio this morning  I'll look it up later. Woot! And no, which thread was it in?? If you need a hand with anything to do with your travels up here, just let me know :) The only artists I can see them announcing now are like you said, the local ones and the triple j unearthed artist
  20. So you have decided to go to Splendour, Jamie?? :awesome: Man, I would love to go to a couple of those sideshows. Possibly the ONLY bad thing about having Splendour so close to Brisbane is that we miss out on the sideshows. I know we get to see more of the bands etc etc but there are a few bands on this years' and last years' lineup that I would just really, really like to see at a non-festival show.
  21. Hello everyone! Pretty sure it's been a whole week since I've even looked at this thread (actually it would be exactly a week as I'm about to leave for uni again) but just thought I'd drop in and say hi. HI :D Nat did you end up seeing Friendly Fires? Or haven't you been to the festival yet? Oh and I actually can't remember the last time I listened to a whole Muse album :wreck: Voice post thing.... ugh. I have 4 assignments and 2 practical exams in about the next 12 days. So yeah. Excuses.
  22. Nice! I have got the original, so I'll probably just get the second disc off iTunes.
  23. I've listened to it twice today and I'm really enjoying it. It's like a mashup of a lot of their previous works mixed in with a couple of new concepts, and I'm going to love anything with Alex's voice in it :p It really does sound like they're just having fun with this record, which is a great thing, I think.
  24. Also, triple J is announcing in the morning which bands are doing slideshows for Splendour!
  25. :stunned:
