  1. Hi there musers! It was a few pages back but you were talking about the instrumental version of blackout, so I looked in my iTunes library, found it and uploaded for any of you guys who wanted it. Don't ask me where I got it from, though :P Blackout - Instrumental A have a few others too if you're interested :wacky:
  2. Sorry to hear that Eddie, that would've been really disappointing for you :( I'm seeing Yeasayer, but only because I too want a good spot for Foals... I didn't last time I saw them and nearly died as a result :P Also disappointed now that I'm not going to see Blonde Redhead! Sounds like they'd be a lot of fun. Still psyched!
  3. So the lineup (in alphabetical order): AC Slater Architecture In Helsinki Art Vs Science The Aston Shuffle Birds of Tokyo Bliss n Eso Cut Copy Darwin Deez Datarock Drapht The Drums The Go! Team (UK) Gotye Gyroscope The Holidays Horrorshow, House Of Pain The Jezabels* Nina Las Vegas (triple j) Sampology (AV/ DJ Set), Tim & Jean UNKLE Live Washington The Wombats With more local and triple j unearthed artists to be announced. It's funny, because it's almost the same as the Parklife lineup from last year, with Darwin Deez, cut Copy, The Wombats , Washington and The Dandy Warhols. Wouldn't mind seeing The Wombats and Deez if they do sideshows.
  4. That's awesome, Eddie! Have fun and make sure you tell us how amazing it is! :awesome:
  5. This is a great little site that shows where the cyclones are http://www.goes.noaa.gov/sohemi/sohemiloops/shirgmscol.html This is the current situation (as I write this, as the site above is constantly updated): The little orange/red spot in the bottom left corner is Cyclone Anthony, which hit a few days ago. The other scary-looking one is Yasi, which is expected to hit the coast later this week.
  6. Yeah, band of horses were here for Splendour. I really can't think of anyone, either, but you're right about the possibility of having a completely Australian bill - a lot of those bands have toured pretty recently as well, though :P Whoever it is, I hope they're good and do some sideshows :awesome:
  7. Good call, they are amazing :wacky: Probably my most anticipated as well, can't wait to see them again!
  8. Laneway party!! :P Who are you guys looking forward to most?
  9. All the "cool" kids wouldn't say a thing against Washington, haha. I agree that it's weird that they left it 6 months to announce that they'd broken up. Not really bothered by it, though. LANEWAY ON FRIDAY.
  10. I've only ever really taken anynotice of the hottest 100 for the last two years. But yes, I think last year's was better. I'll still buy the CD, though :P
  11. Haha, I probably would too if I still had a tv... :blank: I'm yet to listen to the whole of Zonoscope. I've tried a few times to listen to it but keep getting interupted by about the third song - and of course I already know songs 2 and 3. But Take Me Over has grown on me a lot just by hearing it played after the first song... if the rest of the album flows like that I think I'll really enjoy it.
  12. Lol Bryce. It's not ALL that bad, I have fond memories of watching rage when I was little :P Well, watching the songs that weren't crap anyway.
  13. ^Agree, it will be interesting to see the next 200!
  14. So, only two months after breaking up Powderfinger have come out with a new single, with all proceeds going to the Flood Relief Appeal. Just realised I'm on my 2006th post :awesome:
  15. That's a pretty poor excuse as to why a song shouldn't win :P Plus I don't think I've ever heard Angus singing or talking and NOT sounding stoned. Fact is, the people voted it in and I guess that's it.
  16. ^Yeah, I'm not so sure about the #1 either. But hey, the people have apparently spoken! I'm so glad Gorillaz got three in this year. PM'ed you about the bootleg, too
  17. ^ It's definitely a "melts everyone's hearts" kinda song though. Australians are really just big softies, apparently :P
  18. It's interesting, about a month ago an Aussie radio station held a poll which resulted in The Suburbs being listeners' #1 album for 2010. Today the top 100 songs, again voted by listeners, was counted down and although AF had 3 songs in the countdown, they were all in the lower half of the songs (The Suburbs at #58, Ready to Start at #63 and Modern Man at #83).
  19. Hey Sam! :D Every year on Australia day (today) a national radio station hosts its Hottest 100 songs of the previous year, as voted by listeners. In the Hottest 100 of 2010 Gorillaz had 3 songs voted in - Doncamatic at #37, On Melancholy Hill at #42 and Stylo at #78 :awesome:
  20. Happy Australia Day everyone!!! I hope you've all had a great day of celebrations/radio-listening. Also, I can't remember the last time this thread was so busy! Today was the first time I've listened to the Hottest 100, as well. Very impressed that over half the songs that made the list are Aussie songs! And also that the entire top 5 is made up of Aussie music! There are a few disappointments on my part, I was hoping to see a few more of my voted songs on the list, or higher up. But I am SO GLAD that neither Fuck You nor Barbara Streisand won. SO GLAD. Was surprised to see that Angus & Julia won. Not sure why though :P Sad that I won't be tuning in to the Big Day Out recordings tomorrow. I guess I'm not a huge fan of any of the acts though. Edit: 8-10 hours a day, Jamie??? That's madness! :P
  21. Haha, that's awesome! I've always stayed away from summer/winter school for that reason... plus I like my holidays :P BY THE WAY, how was the National/Middle East show?? I don't recall hearing much about it, even on The National's thread
  22. Lolorigin, we've only beaten you five times in a row already :P But seriously, that will be an amazing show for you! When is it?
  23. THIS. Except there's no sideshows here. Despite this, though, Brisbane clearly owns all of you. We're so awesome the weather was forced to try and wash some of the awesomeness away so we didn't completely overshadow the rest of Aus. Ahem.
  24. Finally gave it a listen today. I feel like it's missing something, but I still like it. I need to give it a few more listens before making up my mind, though.
  25. No, not this year. I didn't want to sacrifice an extra week of time visiting my family at home, and there weren't that many acts I was interested in apart from The Black Keys. Plus I'm already going to two other festivals. And well done Eddie :P I like Melbourne too.
