  2. Yep. Arctic Monkeys
  3. Haha, epic review Alex! I don't mean to rub it in your face or anything Jamie but I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work at Future and at the Chem Bros sideshow in Brissy so I got the pleasure of hearing them live twice. I only got to see the visuals on the second night and they were awesome! I'm sure if I'd know them better I'd have loved the performance even more. I must admit though, I found it a bit odd that at both shows I was working they didn't utter a single word to the crowd :/
  4. ^Awesome, I'm so excited to get my hands on that one and give it a listen! I'm also hoping I'll be able to go and see them in April.

  7. Mumford and Sons are the biggest UK band since Coldplay http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/international/27731/Mumford-and-Sons-are-the-biggest-UK-band-since-Coldplay
  8. I agree. Any suggestions on where to start?
  9. I'm only a pretty new fan to these guys but I'm loving the album! I got the email the other day about the zine but don't think I'm going to do that just yet... when's the first issue out?
  10. Not too fussed on the new song either  I still have faith in the boys to make it up on the album, though!
  11. Interesting, do you think it was because Cloud Control's album is a little more accessible?
  12. ^Yay for Cloud Control! Who else was nominated?
  13. First band confirmed for Splendour - The Vaccines
  14. So what's been happening in Aus music? Has anyone listened to the Art vs Science album? I don't think it's nearly as good as their EP, but perhaps I should listen to it more.
  15. Congrats, Mike! :D
  16. I could've lived without seeing that video.
  17. Thanks for those wallpapers! I especially love the one that looks like it's on the crinkled paper :awesome: And ceolsige, your sig :cheesy:
  18. Well for me, the "last ten years" really means the last 3 or so, because I wasn't really "into" the music scene before then and haven't really delved into the history of any Australian bands except Powderfinger, which says something in itself. I will say that I loved The Panics' "Cruel Guards", even though it was released not that long ago. Never been a huge fan of Silverchair but I know they've had a big influence on Australian music. For me, personally, I would probably say The Temper Trap and Cloud Control, even though I know they're very new to the scene (comparatively).

  23. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/02/23/3146299.htm I read in the article above that the death toll has risen to 75 and there are still 300 people missing. This is such awful news, I've driven through the streets of Chrischurch and it's heartwrenching seeing all the damage that has been done to such a beautiful city and its people. I hope the recovery process is as easy as it can be for the people of the city, my heart is really going out to everyone down there. This really has been a crazy year, already. Let's hope the trend doesn't continue.
