Following the herd: Fear dictates what music teenagers listen to
actually, it's a Discman...give them some credit, it isn't that far outdated til the era of the Walkmans. :P & the 90s had some real dodgy fashions...takes an outdated stock photo like that to realise it. :dozey:

How i met your mother
absolutely love the series...it's kinda like an up-to-date Friends (which i've tried watching some of the reruns, but felt that they're rather dated now) imo. e.g. in Friends they hang out at a coffee shop, in How I Met Your Mother they hang out at a pub. i actually like the Barney-Robin plotline cos Barney's like the ultimate player, then he suddenly realises that he's in love with Robin, who herself seems to be quite happy not being tied down to a relationship (like him).

Hello Malaysia!
no....Malaysia has better food! :P & i think it's MUCH easier to find good food at 1, 2am in the morning than in Singapore (beyond McD's).

oh, don't get me wrong, i still loved the Viva tour. i especially love the VIVA backdrop at the end and the super awesome rain of confetti butterflies :wacky: ...but the Coldplay gigs are more memorable for me in a different way somehow. & Chris was ill when at Wembley...he didn't banter much, in fact. :(

TOMS Shoes
heh...where i come from, it's normal to walk barefooted around the house. :) but the 1-for-1 principle is good tho.

that's a pity that Bono didn't make the most of the 360 stage. :\ & that's just the thing i was thinking is the "achilles heel" of that stage design. you can make it 360 & all, but ultimately, the equipment tend to face a specific direction, so there's still a section of the crowd that sees the backs of the band most of the time. but great to hear that Gary seems to have won your heart...heh ;) i'd have to say that that's one thing that stood out for me when i saw them on the Reworked Tour. throughout the night he was quite clearly interacting with people in the crowd and not just the more visible people up front. he even talked to the people seated on the upper balcony's extreme front corners (i.e. the ones that got the shite view, even in his opinion). yeah. that's why, as much as i'd love to say that Coldplay's epic gig at Wembley with 90,000 people was the best gigs i went to last year, unfortunately i'd have to say that Snow Patrol at Colston Hall with just 2,000 people was better on a performance/entertainment level...and that's even with the mic problems they had towards the end during Just Say Yes.

well, based on the Wembley gig, yeah, the whole staging was massive! it definitely didn't feel very intimate, but i had fun anyway as i was with a great bunch of CPers the entire day. i saw them earlier in the year on the same tour, but in Singapore. in comparison, in the indoor stadium in Singapore they could still do the whole going out into the crowd at the back thing to be closer to the fans. logistically/realistically, a massive venue like Wembley's impossible to pull that off (it would've been awesome if they did, of course). then again, it would be even more awesome if Coldplay ever did some busking on the streets of London (or Snow Patrol busking on the streets of Belfast)...Bono's done that in the streets of Dublin, along with Damien Rice & Glen Hansard...oh, well... awww...that sounds simply awesome that random chanting thing! :D & based on Merry's post, i'd say.................HANSON!!! :P oh, well...no shame there. i listen to a lot of Boyzone. & there are some Phil Collins, Air Supply, Backstreet Boys, Leona Lewis, Nickelback tracks in my music library. *hears the sound of my music cred being flushed down the drain...* :dozey: & i swear that his songs are brilliant in helping me get my programming assignment problems solved! a lot of my major breakthroughs with my programming happened while Snow Patrol songs were playing!

Damien Rice
my friend's band played 'Amie' at a party i went to last week... :D ...which led to a guy telling me about his theory on why Damien hasn't released any albums yet: Damien hasn't had his heart broken lately. so he isn't in an "emo" state of mind & can't come up with any fantastic songs yet. :laugh3:

U2
actually...neither can i. cos my dad's vinyl player's died & he threw it out already. :dozey:

*lol* Jen! too adorable! :laugh3: don't worry, i won't. i should've added that another reason to go with the U2 + SP combo is that i still haven't seen U2 live (it's on my bucket list tho). & i've only seen SP live once on the Reworked Tour so i'd like to see a "regular" SP gig. Coldplay i've seen twice. yup, you've got the album name right. but this one's not from Late Night Tales. ;) it's an "exclusive" bonus d/l for U2's upcoming remixes compilation, Artificial Horizon. pity there's no further info provided about this particular remix tho. i'm quite curious to know which of the Snow Patrol guys did the mixing...my guess is it's the mixmaster, Tom, or both Tom & Gary.

U2
i listened to the preview on the website, then decided to get it. can't really say if it's really worth it til i see the real deal, but the price wasn't too exorbitant for me...especially when it turned out that i didn't have to pay for shipping. could anyone confirm if shipping is indeed free for UK? last thing i'd want is to be told i'm not getting my order cos i missed out on paying for the shipping...

busy with an assignment...but just started on my easter break. yayz! i'd pick the one that U2 is playing with Snow Patrol. my 2 fave Irish bands...no fight. :wacky: (sorry, Coldplay... :P) anyway, since you coincidentally brought up U2 & Snow Patrol in the same scenario/sentence, here's a Snow Patrol Remix of a U2 song that i'm currently hooked on.
