A L I E N S
It's very normal for bands to pull out old songs for new records.

Holy shit, that is ALIENS! Wow. This is so cool.

A L I E N S
Yes! The song screams Eno and David Bowie. It's really unlike anything they've made before.

This is far from what I expected, but that's why I like it so much. I expected, at the minimum, experimentation and a hybrid between Viva and MX. We pretty much got exactly that. It took me a few listens to really 'acquire' the sound, but that's what Eno does best. It makes me wish they go back to Eno for LP8, or just from now on until forever, because they mesh together better than they should. The response to the song reminds me a lot of Midnight, but in a much more positive light. Coldplay is taking 10 steps in the right direction with this EP. Love this band!

All I Can Think About Is You
Literally sounds exactly the live version. I'm in awe. Such a fucking good track. My God.

All I Can Think About Is You
I am so impressed I don't even know what to say. It's SO LIT. The bassline is gorgeous, the long opening is such a warm welcome, and Will's drumming is nothing short of maddening. This song seriously has it all. Not only does it sound like old-old-school Coldplay, it has Radiohead-esque patterns that I cannot get enough of. This song is just so good. SO GOOD.

Radiohead
So sorry for being so late in replying. But yes, that show was so fucking good. I can't put it into words. I honestly didn't know what to expect going into the show, because 1) I wanted to have a 'virgin' way of seeing Radiohead live - meaning watching minimal concerts from this tour - and 2) it's Radiohead. I knew what the setlist was last fall, but purposefully made myself stop following the setlists leading up to the Kansas City show. Now, when I say it was the best setlist of the tour so far, I'm not just saying that because it was the show I saw; it was seriously amazing. Airbag, The National Anthem, Where I End And You Begin, and There, There - my favorite Radiohead song - as the closer? You couldn't convince me I wasn't dreaming. All of their performances were killer, especially hearing the re-worked Burn the Witch. That shit went so hard. I loved it from beginning to end. My only complaint was my section. They were the worst. I somehow always get stuck in sections where people act like they're being forced to attend the show(s). The people next to me on my right were talking about excited they were to finally see Radiohead leading up to the show starting, but then looked bored and as if they could not care less after the first song, Daydreaming. They only stood up for half of Daydreaming, Fake Plastic Trees and Karma Police. And it wasn't just them. It was my entire section. I was one of about 20 people moving, dancing and having fun in a section of at least 100 people. I never understand why you'd pay money to sit quietly at a concert like that, especially if you're in a group of people. Either way, Radiohead was flawless. They've been pulling out so many old songs in a short amount of time, and I feel super lucky to have heard the only performance of Where I End And You Begin (so far). Check them out if you haven't already. They're worth the wait.

Radiohead
I'm finally getting to see Radiohead tomorrow! It took about six years, but my desire to see Radiohead live gets fulfilled in Kansas City. So pumped.

Hypnotised - first song off Kaleidoscope
Just an FYI, I promise I'm not trying to argue with you! I think my message came off sounding angry when I wasn't trying to be. I can see where you're coming from. The 'hyp-hypnotized' definitely works better as the song progresses, because I admit it definitely sounds awkward the very first time.

Hypnotised - first song off Kaleidoscope
I guess I don't understand how "bad" the lyrics are. I'm the first to admit their lyrics have been often lackluster the past few years, but there isn't anything in this song that screams regression or 'bad'. Regarding the 'hyp, hypnotized': that is a very, very common tactic used in songwriting, and artists from all over the genre board use this -- not just 'pop' artists/bands. It's not my favorite, but it works well with Hypnotised.

Hypnotised - first song off Kaleidoscope
I am in complete agreeance with you. Especially in regards to this is how AHFOD could have sounded if not for Stargate's production. I didn't expect them to return for Kaleidoscope, but it's a welcomed news to see such a moody, dreamy sound that sounds clean and natural.

So, I've lost track of how many times I've listened already. It's just incredible. Simply one of the best Coldplay has put out in the past 10 years.

I can't get over how beautiful this track is. It's the culmination of everything we've had since Ghost Stories. It's fluid, it's moving, it's powerful. Not to mention how clean the production is. And the lyrics are good! And Chris saying, "J!" and everything. I'm floored, tbh. Completely floored.

Hot damn, Mesmerised is fucking good. Like wow. Wowow. This is some of the freshest material they've produced in years.

I like this a lot. Preach it, brotha.

"Something Just Like This" - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay
Ugh. This is just a bad song. I'm usually the sort of person to be very open-minded musically, but I cannot stand The Chainsmokers. I'm sure it'll be somewhat of a hit, though. It just feels like 95% Chris, 5% Coldplay.

So true. Damn, just thinking about both of them make me want to listen to Frank on repeat.

Because, as a whole, the Coldplay fanbase is very pretentious and despise pop music so much they make it sound like its literal poison. I agree with you. I will never understand why so many people here and as a whole are so hilariously angry at a genre of music that Coldplay has always been. I always love when people cite 'real artists', like Frank Ocean for example, who released an incredible album last year - and cite him as what 'music should be'. Do they not realize Frank's music is more pop than anything else? Yet, you don't hear people complaining about that. It's ridiculous.

COMPLETELY AGREE. People seem to overlook just how much better Coldplay has gotten musically since Viva. You cannot even compare them, honestly.

That's an improvised song about Sydney.

Kaleidoscope EP
I'd be down for that just because the country is rightfully pissed off we actually elected this man. But at the same time, I don't see Coldplay doing that. At least not in an obvious way.

Kaleidoscope EP
Right?! It's crazy. I genuinely don't know where all these people keep coming from. I think in the five years I've been a part of the team, we've only run one ad -- and that was in 2012. It's awesome, but confusing. Lol. Haha, I understand what you mean. But the one who designs our subreddit went through a couple different designs and this one looked best. We might be changing it up for Kaleidoscope, but we'll see!
