My cousin just texted me a link of Coldplay performing Yellow in 2000 and said: nerd Chris come back haha and now I'm missing nerd Chris :P

I wish I had a time machine to do that too! It reminds me of when I first saw a Coldplay concert on tv. It was during the Twisted Logic Tour somewhere in Canada I think. And I was blown away by how amazing they were. I wanted to cry because I wished so much to see them live but I never had thought I would be able to go see them. Luckily I did see them later in VLV era, and have seen them a few times after. I have loved their concerts so much but this has been the first time that I have remembered that Twisted Logic concert. And now I'm thinking about how it had made me feel about them. To me they felt legendary. Now I am sad that I will never be a part of that experience. But I'll still happily go to their concert because I know they have to play some old ones.

I feel like I am having a Coldplay fan identity crisis. I love the boys so much as people and musicians and it's hurting me to admit what I actually feel about their current direction. I hate imagining hurting their feelings. how do I deal with this? Is listening to their old stuff the only thing left to do?

I was just having a conversation with my cousin about this, I was also thinking he is going through an identity crisis of some sort. That's what the album sounds like. I don't hear Coldplay in it, and it makes me sad to say it. And I actually like AOAL but this album just makes me want to hear their old stuff and be sad that those days are behind. I don't understand why they are getting so influenced by the pop music of today, it's ok Chris likes it, but why is there a need to put that kind of sound in Coldplay? :(

I have to listen to it again later because I was not in the best mindset to listen to the new Coldplay sound. This new even more Pop than MX sound was making me nervous. I was happily surprised that I loved AOAL and I listen to it on repeat since it had released. So I was hoping this would happen with the new album. But after my first listen to the whole album, I can't remember a song that stands out for me just yet. I just feel like listening to their old stuff instead. Kind of sad about this new direction to be honest, but as a loyal fan I hope the album will grow on me like MX did. I'll just accept that this won't be a favorite album of mine and keep supporting the boys and keep hoping they come back to their roots. I still can't wait to see them live though, that's a whole different experience that I know I will enjoy :)

I just want Coldplay to keep making albums and alright take me on this fun ride with the new music but then come back around to their start. There's always hope, I know they have it in them to create more beautiful music that captivates us like the old but also innovates their sound.

hmm yea I can see this point of view too. I am sad for that to be happening. I keep wishing for a return to their old sound, Ghost Stories gave me hope but they keep going even more pop every time. I'll still keep holding on for hope of their return to their old sound :( But for now I was happy that I did enjoy this track so much! I'm nervous about the rest of the album though if it is all pop like this...i'm hoping I like it, and that there's some sort of classic Coldplay in there somewhere

I just can't help but loving this song. I was waiting to be disappointed because I want more old Coldplay but I love it...I just do :) so happy and relieved. But now I'm nervous about all these people featured on the album. Not too happy about that, but guess I'll see if they convince me again. It will be tough with that Beyonce song though, I'm not a fan of hers :/

I was very very very nervous about this song and album because I wished for a return to earlier Coldplay, I'm not a fan of them going in a more and more pop direction. That being said, I freakin LOVE this song. I didn't want to because it is so pop but I can't help it, it's so damn catchy and that guitar and Chris' vocals everything I just love it. I've been repeating it over and over, I just wanna sing along and dance to it!! It's difficult because we can't expect them to go backwards, even though for me nothing beats AROBTTH, but they need to keep evolving to keep us excited. This made me hopeful that I will love the new album even though it is not what I wanted from them. They seem to manage to convince me with every album that they know what I want to hear ha.

school has got me feeling down so listened to "Fix you" just to hear Chris sing "when you try your best but you don't succeed" Now, eagerly awaiting to hear exciting new stuff from the boys!

That's great! Did it help listening before or after surgery? ,Maybe if I had heard GS before my wisdom teeth being pulled out, I wouldn't have had such a terrible experience.

I tried to put a "thumbs-up" and may have put a "thumbs-down" by accident :P but that does sound like it would be a great feeling. I must try it now too :)

Listening to coldplay while driving is the best for soothing my anxiety. (I have a fear of driving)
