LOL :D I think it quite true. In my opinion he's a lovely person but just with a peculiar character. I mean the kind of character (person) you have to know to understand that besides any probable faults (ex. not laughing often etc.) there are lots of merits. Just an opinion considering I don't know him at all :)

I think that if coldplay had wrote a song more pertinent to Christmas, with an unequivocal message, like it's christmas love each other, it wouldn't have been a Coldplay song. Every coldplay song in its lyric has something cryptic that can be interpreted in different ways.....and so is "Christmas Ligths" IMO. I agre with the fact that the piano sounds as the main instrument, but anyway it's a "coldplay" song if you listen carefully to the guitar for example. It's Jonny!! I would only have turned up a bit the bass volume, because Guy always made gorgeous bass lines.

But you can't compare Christmas lights to yellow or Strawberry Swing etc., because their're not christmas songs. IMO a good comparison could be between "christmas lights" and the coldplay song for christmas 2009.....but there's not a previous coldplay christmas song :thinking: Maybe the truth is that coldplay fan who don't like this song, firstly has to accept the fact that Coldplay have made a christmas song. Leaving every kind of scepticism and then judge the song.

Ohh come on It's not true.... If you make an opinion poll, you will see that for each "Coldplayer" there's a song (or more songs) which don't reflects our taste. Considering this christmas song lovely, beautiful, awsome...or whatever...doesn't mean we take Coldplay music just for granted...meaning that every song they do is great even if it sucks!! :D It's just a matter of taste...you (and other coldplayers) don't like this song...me and other ones love this one, so?? :D

I don't usually have christmas spirit....feeling frustrated by the souther Italian tradition of veeery long dinners (and a lot of food :( :inquisitive:) with the whole family (cousins, uncles, aunts) that I usually meet once a year. Strangely this year my interest for Christmas has reborn, especially for Christmas decorations, and this lovely song has arrived at the right time. It makes me feel christmas more than ever :D
