For me a 10. A Rush and VLV were nearly perfect ( 9,5 ) but MX is a masterpiece. Its like one big song. And please stop this "Its Eno's fault" and "Chris was too naive" bullshit. Chris would not do things he does not like... its Coldplays imagination of perfection. And it worked. If you dont love the album, okay. But then someone is not able to see the brillance... and not the other way that Coldplay did everything wrong.

One question... wasnt there a review which said, that 3 Songs use some aspects of other songs or something like that? And wasnt this song one of them?!

HLH sounds to hard sometimes... some drum sounds are too heavy which ends with weird effects on my headphone. The rest is fine.

I listened through MX now... and I felt like I was in another world for 44 minutes. In my opinion its a brilliant concept album and its exactly what Coldplay wanted to do. Those things some of you call "overproduced" just fit in perfectly and its just what MX is or wants to be. Are there fans out there who think the same? Im in a hype right now, but I think its as brilliant as all other albums... just better as a full album because it fits in so perfectly...every song...everything. wow.

Well I dont really know how music reviews work... but is 4 / 5 more than good? Because it sounds normal. Also, could someone try to explain the sentence: "A more streamlined affair, re-embracing themselves as an unpretentious yet big-sonding pop group" to me? My English is not good enough... do they say its a mainstreamed Coldplay or just a new Coldplay?

Very nice to read. Thanks for posting. But why do some people here think more synths and strings = more pop music? This is absolutely stupid. MX is just the era where those elements fit an. They wanted to work with those sounds and they did it perfectly. Im also not a friend of the idea that Rihanna is singing in Princess Of China. But that does not mean it´s a pop song. It´s the same song as most of you loved before, just with a new voice in it in addition. A new voice, that Chris Martin wanted to have in there. So it´s not without reason and it does not mean that Coldplay becomes more popish or something. Its still the same Coldplay as in Viva La Vida, just with a new style. And finally: Its just childish that any song, which has some electronic parts, is written by Eno... of course he helps out. But those songs are from Coldplay with a little extra touch from Eno. You all loved The Escapist or the beginning of Life In Technicolor... this was Eno´ish, too. Just like this. You have to give up your thought "If a song has X or Y in it, its pop music. End of story" Cause it´s not. What I want to say: It´s still Coldplay, it´s still brilliant and it´s not 1% more pop music than ever before. And please let me qoute Chris Martin: "When Chris and Jonny were asked about their transition to pop they responded: "We're just making what we want to make. We were making what we wanted to make back in 1999, and we're doing the same thing now. Yellow is probably our most pop song, and that's on our first record. Maybe. Nearly 11 days for me in Germany. Unbelieveable... and I swear I wont listen to any possible leak. I need the feeling when I have MX in my hands, put the CD into my PS3, put on my 1400 dollars headphones ( Sennheiser HD 800 ) and listen to all those new songs / studio versions. It will be brilliant.
