Desperado didn't try to depict Mexican culture any more than a movie like "The Fast and the Furious" or "Open Range" or any John Wayne movie tries to depict American culture. It's meant to be a sensationalized view of a time and a place and requires you to depart of reality. I don't think anybody walking Desparado was sitting there thinking "Wow. Mexico is a really harsh place." Hi!!!! Believe me! I wrote this because I've know people who do think that about Mexico.
  5. Hi, everyone! I love Jack White! I love all the lyrics in the songs and the music. Also is so great to listen to music without too many electronical things, just simple and intelligent music. I agree Amsterdam about Renee Zellgewer I hope they come to Mexico to give a concert!!!!!! Have you seen the video "I just don't know what to do with myself"?
  6. Hi, I love Pablo Neruda! One thing about how to pronounce phonics. I have been teaching english and spanish fou 7 years now, and let me tell you that there are some sounds that are different. For example, the sound for "y" is kind of diferent than in spanish, in english it is more soft than in spanish. It is hard to explain the diference because you will need to listen. Phonics are tricky! :D

Hi! The name of the movie is "desperado" , by the way, the correct word is "desesperado" . Which means = desperated Have you ever seen any movie which is a real "mexican" movie? As a Mexican I believe that movie is contemptible. Of course it was directed by a mexican-american who knows nothing about Mexico. I just don't like how that kind of movies present Mexican culture, which is far from reality. But , how am I complainting about a really commercial movie, with a really bad actress(Salma Hayek).
  9. Well, television is a big waste of time. It is better to read a book. MY favorites memories of my childhood are the ones when I was jumping, climbing trees, running on the beach, things like that! In my opinion, it really bothers me when people sits their children in front of the TV all day. Children learn everything they watch on T.V. And as a preschool teacher I can tell you that they learn how to fight , how to be unpolite to others by watching TV. What I am telling you is just my experiencie.
  10. Hi, Thanks!!!! I have seen his video and it is difficult to explain you what it is about  ! He is going to be perfomning live in the Mtv Latin Awards! Let me pay more attention to the video and I tell you later, ok? :)
  11. Hi! Alejandro Sanz has good music , his new album is not as good as some other songs he has written. He is one of the few latin artists, well I might say spanish spoken artits, that have good music. There are some great bands in Mexico, such as Café Tacuba, Santa Sabina, and some more. There is a new band called "Belanova", great music. :D

Another thing to be considered is how the questions were asked, but it is really funny to read all of those answers.

Hi, I watched Trainspotting for the fisrt time when I was like 21 or 22. It was shown in a kind of Festival of Foreing Movies. I am from Mexico, so we got a paper with all the slangs so we coul understand it better. Believe me, it was one of the best movies I have ever seen, great actors, great story, great soundatrack. I am close to finally get the book, I have to travel to U.S. to got it! Requiem for a Dream is an excellent movie. Have you ever seen any mexican movie? There is a lot that are really worth to be watched!

Hi! Have you seen "Far away so close" I think is a German/French production or something like that. I also liked "Malena" with Monica Belucci(is that the correct spelling? :/ ). There are better films than "Y tú mamá también", such as "La otra conquista". There is a movie from India "The Ceremony" it's great!
