  1. Snowfield demo (early Editors, 2003) is pretty interesting. Tom's voice isn't nearly as low as on the albums. :nice:
  2. Fake Empire - The National
  3. Dirty Pretty Things
  4. How is Swoon compared to Carnavas?
  5. Radiohead - In Limbo
  6. Hm.. dunno about that. Last time, the show sold out about 3 weeks before, but I guess they are more popular now. Some AHMS singles received a lot of airplay here. But I think the price will put a lot of people off. If this were a Reworked show, I'd definitely go... Now, I don't know. :disappointed:
  7. WIAOWSHTCU>FS>EO>SFPB>AHMS :smug: I might go if they bring a decent support act and if it's not sold out already when I have money. :laugh3: Purely nostalgic reasons though. :nice:
  8. Haha, you are kind of crazy. (or very dedicated :P) I live in the Netherlands, about 2,5 hours from Amsterdam. And Snow Patrol are amazing live. You're gonna love them. But I've seen them twice before, so I don't really have to see them again. Though this is the first concert in the Netherlands in three years. See, I'm on the fence here, even though I don't like the last album (AHMS, UTN doesn't count) all that much. Argh. It's just that Snow Patrol will always have a special little place in my heart. :sweatdrop:
  9. Last time in HMH, tickets were 29 euros. In the same venue, Arcade Fire was and Franz Ferdinand were 32-32,50. Tickets are now 47,50 excluding service costs (about 3-4 euros, plus shipping if you don't want an e-ticket, another 2 euros). I'd love to see Snow Patrol again (it's been almost 3 years since I last saw them :freak:), but this is just insane. Plus, I'm kinda skint. :D The sound in HMH is pretty good though. Edit: I usually pay about 20 euros for a concert, so this is relatively expensive for me. *checks upcoming gigs* Cheapest: 8,50 most expensive: 23. :dozey:
  10. The price is fucking insane. I would probably go if it wasn't so freaking expensive. Normally, tickets for HMH are about 30-35 euros. :dozey:
  11. I'm guessing I have well over 1700 artists in my library. Sure, a lot of them are from playlists or other sorts of compilations, but still about 700 of them show up as artists in my iTunes. Can't really be bothered to type that up. :dozey: Ah, 1764 in my last fm library at the moment. :nice: (here)
  12. Mixtape maker, nice to finally, err.. meet you. :D 3: Whiiiiiii, I like X-Amount of Words! 5 & 8: Yeah, I used to listen a lot to Nightwish and Sonata Arctica when I was 14/15 and somehow Nightwish ended up on my last fm profile on quite a high position. Haven't listened to them in ages though. Silence and Reckoning night by SA are awesome, but I haven't listened to any of the other albums, I think. 6: Fleet Foxes, really? I guess I have to check them out now. Never really bothered before because of the hypeness, but I'm pretty sure I'll LOVE them. :nice: 7: *d/l* :escaping2: 9: HA, this is another of those bands I've known for ages but never really checked out. I'm lazy, you see? And there is so much music. And my library already is waaaaay too big. Me likey though. :D 12: *d/l* :escaping2: 15: I think I'll have to make a list to not forget all the really awesome music. Never really listened to acapella before (well, except Voice Male, they sing the instruments as well :D) *starts making list* 14: I knew this sounded familiar! I know The Bravery and have a couple of songs by them. Obviously never really bothered to check them out, but they are amaaaazing! Listening to the s/t now and LOVING it. I feel a new obsession coming up. :P 17: I'm addicted.
  13. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwHJ-u3w0KI]Mumford & Sons - Unfinished Business[/ame]This aired on a radio show. It's... different. :D Full show here: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/tomandalex/blog/s2811103.htm (it's awesome :nice:)
  14. The New Pornographers - All the Things That Go to Make Heaven and Earth
  15. Yep, I'm seeing them in April. The gig sold out in a matter of hours. :freak: They are actually playing twice in the Netherlands in April. So I'm considering buying a ticket to this festival they're playing at as well. But I'm broke. :disappointed: I'M SO EXCITED!!
  16. Sorry for the late review, but life caught up with me. Heh. Anyway, here it goes... Firstly: Love the album art! :awesome: #1: This sounds like Bat for Lashes. I listened to their album a couple of times, but couldn't really get into the music. I like this song though, so I might give them another try. #2: BEEEEEEEEEIRUT!! Nice song choice. :nice: #3: This song is sort of depressing. I like it though. The acoustic guitar is really nice, and the cello (I guess it could be a violin as well...) at the end is great. And the song has beautiful harmonies. #4: Wow, this is totally different. That was a sudden transition ;) This is an uplifting, uptempo rock song. The guitars are awesome (electric this time :D) and the song is really catchy. Definitely going to check this out! The ending is amazing, by the way. #5: Ha, symphonic metal. Not really my style, though the song sounds decent. Not really something I would normally listen to. #6: Ah, this is more my style. An acoustic folkish song. Just the kind of music I've been listening to lately, so I'm gonna check this out. Sort of reminds me of Midlake. A tiny, teensy bit. #7: This song sounds REALLY familiar. Is it an oldie? It's short (and sweet), folk/singer-songwriterish with a female vocalist. And again a lovely guitar. #8: This is quite metalish. The style of the song reminds me of Sonata Arctica (though it definitely isn't SA) or perhaps Avantasia. Power metal, then? #9: This singer sounds really Scandinavian. Not the accent per se, but more the tone of his voice. It's a nice uplifting pop song. Probably want to hear more of this. #10: I KNOW THIS. But I can't remember. :disappointed: It's a short song, really jazzy and it has a big band/swingy feel. Something they might play on radio. Too bad I don't listen to radio much, though. Aargh!! #11: Owl City. Can't stand it. :dozey: (glad that it isn't Fireflies though) #12: I Think this is Regina Spektor. Nice. #13: I love the guitar/violin intro. It's the same kind of style as #8. Though this song is not as metalish. Power rock, then? :P #14: Ooh, I really like this song. These guys rock! (I mean that literally and figuratively :sweatdrop:) It's a really catchy, uplifting, infectious little song. Probably my favourite so far. You learn to rheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-sent me  #15: This is something different! Very acapella, very harmonious. It sounds very, err.. edifying, I guess? It's a nice change. :nice: #16: I'm getting a Breaking Benjamin vibe here. The first part of the song is quite calm. Though judging from the singers voice, I'm guessing that their music usually is a bit rougher (i.e. more like Breaking Benjamin). The second part is a bit rougher, though the song has a very calm ending. #17: I LOVE THESE LYRICS! This song is hilarious! It's about computer viruses. Overall, I really enjoyed listening to this tape. Although not all songs were exactly my style, I appreciate the diverseness and I really found some cool songs/artists I want to check out. Favourite tracks: 2, 4, 6, 9, 14, 17 Now reveal yourself, mixtape maker! :P
  17. Casimir Pulaski Day The Flaming Lips?
  18. Midlake - The Courage of Others (album) :awesome:
  19. *uberbump* New album is awesome! :awesome:
  20. Blind Pilot! :awesome: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juvwlEO-x2o]Blind Pilot - 3 Rounds and a Sound[/ame] Wonder in how many tv shows it's featured...
  21. ^^ No shit, Sherlock. :dozey:
  22. ^ Did you go to Paradiso or Tivoli? I ended up going to Tivoli because I hadn't bothered to buy a ticket for Paradiso. I prefer Paradiso, even though Tivoli is closer and cheaper. :nice: I think I favour the more rocky live sound over the album sound. Though the sound at the gig was a tiny teensy bit crappy. Vocals got drowned. :dozey:
  23. I'll post my review tomorrow :nice:
  24. Nuts, how long is this gonna take? :D
