  1. ^You have heard of the band right? And the term that people from the north here are called Northern Monkeys? I think that pretty much is the joke. I'm just trying to imagine actual Alex Turner and co sitting down with a festival line-up and trying to organise it. They'd probably still do better than the Lolla organisers tbh. Oh well, anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to convince them. I'll see if I can dig up my Kooks cd's and send you some of their stuff. I think that may be the week they're releasing their 3rd album. And yeah... They're awesome, they come from Brighton so one of the guys I work with went to college with them :dazzled:
  2. I thought you may have done. See, I'm jealous right now man, I wish that was here in the UK so I could go. Or that I had money to burn to fly out. Sometimes it sucks to be over here. Yep, Mark as welll. I missed out on the intimate Killer's gig at Scala because I was in an exam. My Mum tried to get tickets, but she didn't quite get the '12:00 on the dot' thing and expected to be able to get tickets still at 12:15 :bigcry: Tbh, probably a good thing otherwise I'd be more focused on that than exams. Ohh! I hope that goes well. I defs advise you to see TDCC and The Kooks-- both are bloomin' insane live. Especially The Kooks (I'm going to see them again in October =3) :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: Could you imagine the Arctic Monkeys legit trying to timetable something?
  3. This is the release that alerted me to it: Hi All, I’ll be playing my new material for the first time on July 15 in Silverlake, CA at Satellite (formally Spaceland). I’ve been working on an album for two years with some friends of mine and we are almost done. The band playing on July 15 is Alex Carapetis, Dominic Howard(from Muse), Mark Stoermer (from Killers), Ray Suen (Flaming Lips), Sam Gendel on Sax and myself. The show will probably sell quick so I wanted to tell all my friends first before it goes public. Hope you can make the fun. Stay tuned for bits of music to be released coming soon. The album is the best thing I’ve ever done. The band will be playing on July 15 under the name EXPENSIVE LOVE. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.thesatellitela.com/. Hope to see you, Jason Hill Source
  4. As if the whole Amy Wineo-house thing shocked anyone. But this article. Jeeze. Please tell me this guy suffered a terrible concussion before writing it. It's the only acceptable way that he could find her behaviour fine.
  5. Wellll.... Not strictly Muse related, but Dom related... He's in another band apparently as a sideline gig. They're playing a concert in LA.
  6. Glad to hear it! The sheer amount you have to remember for all science subjects is insane. Jeeze, 90% Wow. I could only dream of my unit marks being that high. I'm a 75-80% person me :P Thank you :awesome: I'm sure they'll go alrightish. Only neuroscience I'm worried about now, and that's not until next Monday so not thinking about it yet :laugh3:
  7. Good luck Grace. I hope the revision technique works for you too! I've just finished my 4th exam. So I'm now halfway through. Oh yeahh
  8. ^ Analogy of the year. Heh. I'm a lamewad and can barely keep up with one forum. I fear I would be far sporadic for .mu's liking and every time I'd appear I'd be eaten alive. They're genuine concerns.
  9. Does it count if I say my housemates have forced me to hate Lady Gaga? I mean, when she first came out I may have listened to her. But then my housemates played her over and over and over and over that it drove me batshit insane. And so now I physically want to pull my ears off and eat them whenever I hear her.
  10. I know, it's insane. It's partly down to the amount of traffic they get through there every day, but it is also in part down to the fact that Musers take things to a whole new level
  11. I have no idea who that is I don't think  Heh, yeah I think that .mu is hard work in comparison to here. Man.
  12. ^Yah, on the Coldplaying boat. I was all like 'ABGDFDGHGYGK. IAN. :freak:' My friend that I took with me who wasn't on the forum was like... Um? What? Ohhh, who's that? And no I haven't. How strange. I would offer myself up, but I feel like offering yourself to .mu is sort of like a virgin sacrifice or something.
  13. ^ Hahaha, Ian is such a legend. Meeting him is an odd experience though
  14. ^In that last .gif Dom's teeth look super-pointy. And nice new name Christina, what did Ian say?
  15. Oh, I've been sufficiently told. I don't want to get on your bad side... So I won't  You're so biased :P And I like violetsparks but I guess that's because I'm used to it. If you can't find one that grips you, then dw about it. We all luff you regardless of your screename. After all, you're just Violet to us  About 70% of my friends do Economics!
  16. I've just got back from seeing Wolf Gang live... In which he played the entirety of Suego Faults. I can tell already that it is definitely going to be one of the 2011 albums worth listening to. (If you want a good taster of the album, the Dancing with the Devil EP is already out and that is ace)
  17. ^ :laugh3: I can blates deal with you being Megalomania. I don't think I could ever change my username. Nattatouille stalks me around teh interwebz now. :|
  18. Oh hello this awesome 'Hitler Reacts' video to the Lolla schedule: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU0v6U_ap7g&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - ‪Hitler Reacts to Lollapalooza's Friday Schedule: A Pink Wota Production‬‏[/ame]
  19. ^But. But. But. You've always been Showbiz to me :bigcry:
  20. Good luck. We're all rooting for you over in this corner. Go Violet (banners and badges yes?) Well, if you do get stuck and I can help then I will. But heh, it depends on what Chemistry as specified. I am living with a Chemist over the summer so I could always get him on board :P I tend to read the lecture notes and my extra reading notes I've made and then condense them all in to an A4 sheet (both sides) worth of notes per lecture. Then once I do that, the day before I go over the notes, highlight them, read them, speak them out, memorise them and then type them up. It's a little crazy but it works. I think the issue with biology-related subjects are there's a whole heap of processes to remember. Monday I had to remember the entirety of carbohydrate metabolism, nucleotide metabolism, amino-acid metabolism and lipid metabolism. So many enzymes :bigcry: We're extremely lucky people, our exams finish on the 29th June. The final day of term :laugh3: Needless to say all the Mol Medics/Biochemists/Mol Geneticists are straight off for a pub crawl to celebrate it. Yeah, I totally understand. I've never been fantastic at chemistry either though-- so you shouldn't let you put you off if it's what you're interested in. You just got to work harder at it when it comes down to it, y'know? If I played to my strengths I'd be doing an English degree, Sciences aren't my natural strength. But I find them more interesting so that's where I ended up. Ahhh, I'm going to be biased and totally tell you to go the science route in college anyway. Science nerds are where it's at :glasses: Well, not this year, but the year I'm about to go in to. This time next year I will be graduating. I'm a little nervous about heading in to the real world :laugh3: Ideally I want to get employed by the NHS to be a clinical bioscientist specialising in either immunology, pathology or virology-- that way I get a job whilst also working to get a Masters. Oh gosh, that smell would have made me queasy like nothing else. You've got to have a real strong stomach not to be at all bothered by that
  21. Aww, so there is no mystery sleuthing required? Damn, I was about to get my Sherlock on :p I'm glad it's resolved, and I hope you get away without a fine. If they fine you they're total squareballz. Ahh, we all have them. I hope today is treating you better man. And hey, at least you won't get bored over the summer. And your brain won't decompose into mush either. A little bit of homework never hurt anyone! (I could've done with some between A-Levels and Uni because when I ended up back in uni my brain just sort of melted out of my ears a bit). And I'm okay at Chemistry, I got a B at A-Level, missing an A by a mark. But it depends on what part we're talking about, why? I use revise in the context of studying? So, I'm studying for the exams... Making sure I know everything again. Because there's a load of gene names, processes, diseases, mutation classes ect I need to know for each course and I'm being tested on 8 different courses   That PCR song is awesome. That's clicked, shared to all my scientifically minded friends on Facebook. I know they're all on there pretending to be working when really we're all crying inside considering about 95% of the rest of the uni have finished exams. And yeah. By the looks of it I will be mutating a DNA Primase that is seen to be involved in repairing DNA double breaks that occur when we're exposed to carcinogens/UV. Just basically looking at the molecule in detail as my final dissertation. If it is good enough or I discover something new I could end up getting published. I have indeed. Did a few sessions on it in October through to December. It's really weird I guess. A couple of people fainted and things, but generally once you get used to it things are fine. It's definitely interesting because what you learn in a textbook really tells you nothing. In the textbook everything is in a specific place and is a specific size-- in reality the human body is open to so many variations that you see that things are definitely far from perfectly ordered. Believe it or not though, even if you don't think you can do it, you'd be surprised what happens when you're in there!
  22. ^I'm studying Molecular Medicine, which is pretty much Biomedicine except I've got a few medical specific courses which have included Anatomy and Human Dissection, Common Medical Problems and next year I have Theories of Medical Practice (basically all about ethics). Thanks very much, and good luck with the rest of yours. They'll be over before we know it!
  23. ^:uhoh: You mentioned that ultimately dividing tune... All hell is going to break loose. TAKE COVER! ^^I'm sorry your summer has started off sucky  Everyone has bad days and it seems like you're just having one of them. You'll be okay eventually, despite all the work and the changing circumstances-- y'all will adjust  How am I? Ehhh. :bomb: I just want for my exams to be over and done with now pretty much. I'm just slogging through revision, revision, revision, eating, revision, sleeping, exam, rinse, repeat. I'm a quarter of the way through though! And yeah, I got my third year placement released. I'm doing a lab based project involved in mutation and studying DNA polymerases involved in DNA double break repairs. Yay  Got a meeting about it this afternoon so I will know a bit more later which is :awesome:
  24. Eh, if it was Wolstenguitar from the beginning we'd never know any different and say that Wolstenbass sounded weird. :P Yay, your summer starts here  I'm sorry that next year looks sucky though
  25. It's because Chris is music incarnate.
