The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I knew someone called Fillip, except, y'know it was spelt Philip, and I used to call him Phileep. And well, he was the one who spelt my name wrong and then excused himself by saying that it was more 'me' to have an unusual spelling, hence the double 't' sticking. /teenagethrowback

I don't know what to make of Miracle Day already. I think I will sorely miss the primarily Welsh setting and I know I'm going to miss Tosh, Owen and Ianto. :bigcry: But glad we'll still have Rhys and Andy :awesome:

Oh. If you do come to the UK next Wembley we must meet up! Would be amazen :awesome: I will have to watch it when I get home as I don't know how long it may take to download down here (and I have 3 more hours of internet time to last me until Sunday). Sorry! :\

New thread. It's all shiny and stuffs. :awesome: I can't make an awesome posting debut m'fraid. But yeah, me being here is enough of a win right? :laugh3: Anyway, you are very right about me not being able to get to Reading. All 'true' Musers may want to get there, but it's harsh to say that if you're not there then you're not a fan. They forget that a day ticket is £80 and unfortunately for me, I am working all weekend and then I'm on placement on the Monday. I've been given the opportunities to do things so I have taken them. If I was at home, then yeah, I'd be there

Hey everyone :D I'm in Devon at the moment so yeah, going to be sporadic. Busy having a row with some Foo's fans about why Muse actually aren't as shite as they're trying to make out. Probably fighting a losing battle I guess :|

Oasis were alright. But I don't really like Beady Eye. And the only reason I like the Gallaghers is that they seemingly keep NME in business with all their feuds. ETA: Amazing dream is amazing. I think your subconscious really took to the Q article :awesome: I'm hoping my Muse dreams may start reappearing now my stress levels have plummeted.

Not a problem guys (I'm like Q and NME's bitch pretty much. I continue to buy them every week on my student wage :laugh3:)

^No it's not. There's a guy that does the writing as I'm about 99.9% certain there was the same handwriting for Jay-Z, Dave Grohl and Alex Turner's ones.

HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS AMAZING... NEW INTERVIEW IN Q.... WITH PROPER BAMF PICTURES ALRIGHT. It's huge though. So... Ahhh, if you do get a chance to go and see it then do... It's one of the best comic book movies. Definitely the best X-Men since the first. Andd I don't know what it is yet. But basically when I first saw them, they bought me and my friend a drink because we remembered their band name :p So yeah, I really liked their music too so I followed them on Twitter and tweeted a bit at them and stuff. And they called me their best fan. Anyway, they came down to Brighton as part of the Great Escape as one of the secret bands, and I worked out that they were so I said that I'd buy them a drink afterwards. So yeah, I went back up to them and they recognised me and so we went for drinks again. And so I've been waiting for their latest single for weeks. And it keeps getting delayed, and last night they said they wouldn't be releasing it until July now and so I was all like DDDD: And they were like... Don't be upset! We'll send you a present to make up for it. And so yeah, they're sending me a present and someone else asked if they could send them one and they were like 'nah, only to our biggest fans' :wacky: (they have sent one to my friend though too, which makes me feel slightly less special)

^ :bomb: That's amazing a dream. If only it would happen. Even if you scare Matt in your dream, he still hasn't punched you in the face in your dream, so it's all good  I can't remember my last Muse dream. At the moment my dreams are all about X-Men with weird cameos from Chris Martin and Steve (from Shake Aletti)... And it's weird.

ETIAW Video out now!!
As much as I dislike ETIAW, I have to concede that I really do like the video. It makes ETIAW a whole heap better in my mind at least. It's all a really lovely colourful, visual experience. Using the song lyrics to create a video could be annoying in some cases, but this works. And I love the fact that the frames are all disjointed on it-- makes for a really nice effect. My favourite part is definitely the glow in the dark scene though, just because. Nice video redeems a frankly pitiful song.

^ :laugh3: Coldplay, Sigor Ros and Muse... Yeah, that's unlikely and a half. Promoters for them tend not to have multiple bands when they're that big. And they would be fireeed.

My experience with Chris Martin would make me beg to differ. I've always got the vibe that Matt's a little haughty (not Chris or Dom, I think they're right down to earth). And Chris Martin is definitely such a nice normal guy. He's sweet. And I don't think they take themselves seriously actually. I don't think either of them do. Compare them with U2... I do have to agree about Chris either learning to sing whilst doing his acrobatics or tone them down a bit. I think that's why he sounds off. M'Bellz stays relatively still if you compare the two front men. Yeah, Matt jams like a badass, but he doesn't do roly-poly's though does he? Anyway, tbh, I love both bands, they both have their good points and their bad points. But I listen to them for different reasons so it's not much of a fuss here

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I did exactly the same. Okay, so I never fell out of love with Coldplay. But I always have my three favourite bands who I say are 'tied' for place in my heart... But that's a lie, I'll always fawn over one more than the others. When The Resistance came out and the following tour I fawned Muse more. When Come Around Sundown came out I loved Kings of Leon more... With an impending Coldplay album I'm all *swoon* Coldplay again. I still love my others though just to set that straight. I have to disagree with Muse being a disaster last year. I thought it was a very good performance, even my brother (who isn't really a fan) said it was good (I feel like I may have been away on holiday in a caravan for Glasto 2010. I remember...) The problem with saying that they could have played more stuff from earlier albums is that, well, Muse's popularity has really spiked with the last 2 albums-- prior to that they were pretty unknown to radio play ect. That means the majority of the Glasto crowd wouldn't have heard any of the tracks. I think they engineered the setlist to what was better for a Glasto crowd opposed to what was best for a general Muser crowd. They showed the material they thought that would go down well with the Glasto populace and potentially win them fans from it. Coldplay have never had that problem just because, well, everyone knows all their material because they've been massive pretty much straight from the beginning. So they can play a mixture and get the entirety of the crowd going. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting as many new songs in the set-- I think that was a risk on their part

[25-June-2011] Coldplay @ Glastonbury festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, UK
NME's Review of Coldplay at Glastonbury 2011 Who: Coldplay Where and When: Pyramid Stage, Saturday. Vibe: Playing the new material from their forthcoming fifth studio album, including 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall', Coldplay's third go as headliners at Worthy Farm seemed to be a test for Chris Martin and co. With a set that included the big guns 'Yellow' and 'In My Place', as well as most fans' first chance to hear the new tracks live, they pulled off a great Saturday night headline set. And it was done without too much Chris Martin cheese. Best bit: 'Yellow'. At Glastonbury. Just brilliant. Low point: The lager-spilling, cigarette-burn-enducing, loud-mouthing idiots that we were stood next to for most of it. Banter: Chris Martin: "Beautiful, wonderful Glastonbury, thank you for having us, we're glad the sun came out for you and you stuck around to see us." Verdict: Emily Eavis said that Chris Martin would "do anything for Glastonbury" after he convinced Beyonce to play Worthy Farm this year - and you could see how much the festival means to the band during their live show. A great set of the classics and some of the new tracks, and not too many Chris Martin cheese moments/air punching/odd marching band outfits. Even the doubters seemed to enjoy it. Rating: 9/10 Source
