FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
I can take both days. I've already emailed my lecturer from Thursday to say that I will have to leave as soon as I've finished my exam. And emailed my Friday one to say I won't be attending. However my placement person is a bit different. I'm meant to be working in a research lab over the summer and she wants to have a meeting to go over my application for funding and stuff and wants to organise it for the two days she is back on campus (Thursday and Friday). I guess I might have to arrange it for next week instead :\

FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
That's what I was thinking. I normally wear jeans and hoodies to concerts, but this is a bit different... And I don't think I'll have time to buy the skinniies I've been eyeing if it ends up being Thursday XD That 'A Christmas Story' film looks infinately creepy. Every time it comes through my till, I shudder just because of the kid on the front. According to that map it looks like Waterloo will be the nearest big train station. Normally mine is a direct train to Victoria, so would it be worth swapping at Clapham and going in to Waterloo?

FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
I am looking forward to knowing what day it is so I can book train tickets and work out which lectures I'm going to end up missing. The forecast is snow? Oh man, that is wonderful. It'll make it so festive... But rather cold. Ah well, I have my mittens and hat already just in case! (I still can't make my mind up what to wear. What's everyone else going for...?)

FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
You go to work for one day and have so many pages of thread to catch up on... Is there anything critical I should draw my attention to? My guest is being a bit funny at the moment. He's like a massive Coldplay fan, but he just seems all meh about going. (Or maybe I am just too excited and he's the normal level of excited). And both my parents are chomping at the bit to come with me instead XD

FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
All the boating pictures/references in this thread makes me squee. Last time I went on a boating trip was up the Nile... And that was way cool. But this is infinitely more exciting-- just the prospect and the opportunity for all the lucky Coldplayers that get selected.

If I remember reading rightly, after two or three hours there were already wayyy over 50 people applying.

FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
Very well said. :D You're completely right. It's not the 'mystery potential of the band turning up' that people have applied for. It's for all the things that have been confirmed. I mean, I'd personally love to meet Matt McGinn and Phil Harvey. It's like a dream come true. *Keeps reminding self not too get too excited about it yet*

Yeah, I understand that it's a trip... But there are plenty of opportunities for moorings to let the band on and off if they were to make a surprise appearance even for an iddy bit.

^^Mmhhmmm. They've always seemed to really apreciate fans and have been lovely to people in the past... Not like some bands I could mention *cough*Kings of Leon*cough*

As much as I'd love to meet any of the band... I have the feeling you'd be right about that. Although the scheduling thing does make it sound a bit suspect y'know? But track previews or LP5 announcements would be to die for anyway! And the opportunity in itself is just amazing!

Applied. Good luck to everyone! I hope I get it... I've already looked in to everything and it's not too bad... Only if it's on the Friday work may be a bit weird on the Saturday XD

I am so applying. I'd have to miss a couple of lectures, but honestly, it's so amazing an opportunity to pass up. Everyone that gets the opportunity will be beyond lucky!

Viva la Vida tour DVD - live in Barcelona trailer
I hope they do release a Live DVD; I'd definitely buy it. I'd also like to hope it'd be of the Wembley show, but that's just complete bias on my part... (Imagine the epic of having the DVD from the actual concert you went to). And, to get involved with this whole 'Chris should be less enthusiastic to ensure his sound quality was better' I tend to disagree. I think that the energy and enthusiasm put in by Chris jumping around made the atmosphere more electric and energetic. I would prefer to see him enjoying himself and having his singing a little 'off' than to have him note-perfect and stoic. To take an example-- when I went to Snow Patrol; Gary Lightbody stood there completely motionless but his singing was amazing. However the crowd was less than enthusiastic and to be frank, a lot of people found it quite boring. Then, towards the middle of the gig Gary began 'dancing' around and getting into the music-- sacrificing his vocal quality... However, the crowd then followed suit and it became much more fun and preferred that half of the gig. I go to the gigs to hear the music but to also enjoy myself. I think you have to reach a decent compromise.
