Okay I've watched the first 25 minutes or so of the full version of FTB and... I've never been a huge fan of The Gloaming or Myxomatosis, but holy crap seeing this may have just changed my mind. Good lord.

That sounds like something my mom would say. I had her watch the Le Reservoir Fog (Again) performance and her two comments were: This is so depressing. Why is he wearing all of those wristbands? Does he spend half his time in the hospital?

It took a little prodding but YAY it looks like I finally got your answer as to why you think it doesn't make sense that they would possibly perform Feral on the piano: it "is just a bunch of beats and a weird bass line." I would agree with that. But then again, it's Radiohead, so I wouldn't be surprised if they figured out a way to do it and blow our minds.

Oddly enough I was one of the people "defending" Magpie in the beginning when so many people were hating on it. Now it's my least favorite. I would still go see a band on tour even if I don't like their most recent album. As I've said before, when I first heard VLVODAAHF I despised it, chucked the CD on my car floor and didn't listen to it again until March 2009. I purchased tickets to the concert, and then I started listening to it because I thought I'd at least familiarize myself with the songs. So I planned on seeing Coldplay even though I didn't care for LP4, although I eventually grew to like much of it (not all).

Wow this sucks! I haven't been checking on this the past couple of days, so to find this out is a bummer. At first I wasn't going to, but when I saw videos from the festivals I thought hey why not even if it is on a Monday night, and now this? Mmmph. Yes it probably will be merged, but I'll make sure to change the title of the other thread a little and add your post (or at the very least a link to your post) in the first post of the other thread. Cool story bro, that's the second time you said that. Mind offering up why you think it doesn't make sense? Of course I can think of a good reason why they wouldn't do it, but I don't want to spoon-feed it to you, I'm curious what your reason is other than "oy it don't make sense." I can't figure out how Supercollider would fit, but if I were to keep it 8 tracks I would get rid of Morning Mr Magpie, move Little by Little to track 2, and make the Butcher track 3. I'd have to give it a bit more thought on how to fit all 10 songs together in a cohesive manner.

The thread creator made no complaint of the manner in which people were expressing their negative opinions of the new material. Her complaint was that they expressed negative opinions... period. That is what my posts are directed at.

Someone made an excellent comment in another thread, once I find it I will put it in this post. And although you think it's all of the songs that people hate, it seems to me that most of the haters of ETIAW like the rest of the songs. Most of the negativity came from ETIAW, because the core of it is based on another song and therefore isn't really creative like you say. People don't have a problem with them having an upbeat song as you suggest. Coldplay have had plenty of other upbeat songs, it's just the nature of ETIAW that irks a lot of fans. (Oh and the band aren't all of a sudden being creative with decorating the piano, they did that during the entire Viva era and in the Christmas Lights vid.) I've been gone all day but it's good to come here and see there's a bit of relief regarding the other songs, at least to some degree. Watched videos of two of the songs, still have to watch the rest. I'm officially not as upset and frustrated as I was yesterday. Where is a song blackhole when you need one? ETIAW needs to venture out there. Although I'm still irked that they even thought it was a good idea to begin with, let alone hype it, etc.
