Went to the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Movement) over the Memorial Day weekend, and saw Flying Lotus. Pretty good, but unfortunately it was getting drowned out by the stage all the way over on the other side of the venue, where Fatboy Slim was performing. On the thread topic, I will say basically what I said in the Coldplay section but in a more blunt manner because Debs probably (hopefully) doesn't lurk here. - The lyrics seem like shit but I'll reserve judgement until I listen to the song. - I've never really been into album artwork other than Parachutes, so I don't hate the new stuff. But I don't really care about it either way so I suppose that's not saying much. - Why the fuck do they feel the need to have a wardrobe theme. Just wear regular clothes and stop distracting from the music. Yeah other bands have a wardrobe theme... it's called EACH MEMBER WEARS WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANNA WEAR. Ugh.

So yesterday at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Movement), I saw some guy walking around wearing a Radiohead t-shirt. I said to him, "hey you're here to see Fly Lo, aren't you." He looked at me a bit perplexed and replied, "yeah, how'd you know that?!" :| Duh. On another note, I'm getting really excited for the From the Basement performance, even though it's over a month away.

My take on it is kind of a hybrid of people's opinions here: - I'm excited to hear the new music. I won't judge it based on the lyrics yet. - I see other people don't like the artwork, but I kind of like it. - But no on the outfits. Music yes. Artwork yes. But let the music speak for itself, there's no reason have pretty clothing as a distraction. Enough already. imho

Yeah I wondered the same thing, that seems kind of silly. But there must be a reason for it, I can't seem them doing that without a really good reason. I hope.

Sunny, rather warm and very humid, it will be approaching 90 degrees in a couple of hours (32C). Hopefully I'll be able to find some shade near the stage at the music festival this evening before the sun sets!
