Women's doctors: Do you care about the sex of your doctor?
No I don't think there are things a male doctor won't know, I'm simply saying (as you mention here) that by default (and obviously through no fault of their own) male docs don't know "what it's like". The OP is asking what we prefer and why. I'm just stating what I prefer and why. Of course not. I see that you're trying to make a comparison to what I'm saying, but that's no even a parallel comparison. You should instead ask, "does a doctor need to have legs (at all) to treat a patient with broken legs?" In which case I would still say of course not; but, a doctor with legs would likely be able to relate better to the patient. Please re-read my first post. I did not say that having any woman OB/GYN would be better than the world's smartest (male) OB/GYN. Heck, I even said I'd gladly take a male over a condescending lady doc. I actually like debating with you Reilly; but debating with you is more enjoyable when you're not putting words in people's mouths. I know you can do better.

Women's doctors: Do you care about the sex of your doctor?
I just realized that we're all kind of missing another element here, a/k/a babies. Just a gynecologist, or an OB/GYN? There's a difference. A gynecologist is a physician who has a successfully completed specialized education and training in the health of the female reproductive system, including the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases. An obstetrician is a physician who has successfully completed specialized education and training in the management of pregnancy, labor, and pueperium (the time-period directly following childbirth). And an obstetrician/gynecologist is a physician specialist who provides medical and surgical care to women and has particular expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system. I don't think we can really label dudes as perverts for wanting to go into a profession (obstetrics) in which he's the first person to hold a brand new human being. Being a gynecologist only, that's one thing; being both (OB/GYN) is another.

Women's doctors: Do you care about the sex of your doctor?
Wait, what? Why are you attaching sexual preference to a completely unrelated comment? By "men not being able to really relate because they don't have the same equipment"... here's an example if it wasn't already clear. If a lady goes to an OB/GYN and complains, "hey my monthly flow used to be more like the local creek, now it's like the Niagara falls and I don't know why." A male doctor can provide reasons, offer solutions, i.e., treat the patient. But a male doctor doesn't really know what it's like on a personal level because he doesn't have menses coming out of his man parts every month. IF(manparts.ne.womanparts) THEN (notthesameequipment) END IF

US braces for Hurricane Sandy
Some parts of NY subway system are completely submerged (water up to the stairs from the street). Others have water up to the platforms. Altogether, about 45 miles of the subway are completely unusable. NY taxi cabs (parked in New Jersey) are flooded out, likely can't be used again. Seaside Heights, New Jersey (yes, the "Jersey Shore", but it was popular LONG before that) is pretty much destroyed. The boardwalk and pier are submerged and/or washed away into the ocean. Looks like a lot of the houses within several streets of the beach are a loss also. Honestly even with all the warnings, I just didn't think it would really end up being this bad.

Women's doctors: Do you care about the sex of your doctor?
I prefer a female, unless she's a condescending bitch; in which case, I'll gladly take a male. Men don't have the same equipment, so even if they're the smartest OB/GYN ever, they can never really relate. Sorry.

- US braces for Hurricane Sandy
It appears more than just rain and wind are causing problems. In the areas where the air is cold enough, they're getting snow instead of rain. Areas of West Virginia will have up to 3 feet of snow by tomorrow. In many places not all the leaves have fallen off the trees (the natural mechanism for protecting trees during the winter), so trees get weighed down and snap power lines, etc.- "I just bought..." -- post your recent purchase!
/ mind blown- The Walking Dead
 ditto Mmmm, not really. I'm not sure it was so much being sentimental to Andrea per say, as opposed to sentimental of "what once was". I think even he is a bit freaked out by Governor, and seing Andrea brings a sense of normalcy (if you could call it that). Plus I think it brings a glimmer of hope to possibly seeing his baby brother.- What's the weather like today in your town?
WINDY- What are your names?
My name is in my sig. It doesn't start with B or Z.- Coldplayers! Do you have questions for Paris, Coldplay's "artist in residence"? *** UPDATED 26/11
*** UPDATED 26/11 WITH ANSWERS FROM PARIS! *** See Paris' answers to some of your questions here: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5474458&postcount=17 As you may know, Coldplay have recently teamed up with Album Artists to raise funds for Kids Company, a London-based charity which aids some of the most vulnerable children in the London area. The fundraiser includes original Mylo Xyloto artwork, digital prints, canvases, and even the infamous "MX wall", hand-painted by Coldplay and Paris: Coldplay's "artist in residence". Through Album Artists, Coldplaying.com has been extended the special opportunity to ask Paris a few questions about his experience working with Coldplay! We are putting the call out to all Coldplayers for questions to pass along to Paris. You may recall that Coldplay.com posted a two-part interview with Paris back in April (see Part 1 and Part 2). So... do you have any questions that you would like Paris to answer? Post them here! (Or if you would prefer, you can PM me with your question.) We're looking for unique questions of course; please, try not to repeat the questions already posted in Coldplay's 2-part interview. The tentative deadline for submitting questions is 7 November. We will make sure that some of the best questions get passed along to Paris; his answers to your questions will be posted here sometime in mid-November. And stay tuned for more exciting news...- The Walking Dead
Although they haven't exactly been sticking to the comics. After all, Daryl didn't even exist until the show.- US braces for Hurricane Sandy

Current precipitation radar, headed this way: I think the issue is just going to be the persistent strong winds and rain. It surely won't be as severe here (in Detroit), but it will affect us regardless. Later today we're supposed to get "north wind 30 to 40 MPH (50 to 65 KMPH) with gusts 55 to 65 MPH (90 to 105 KMPH) developing this afternoon and persisting through Tuesday morning."- US braces for Hurricane Sandy
Yes, the news has dubbed it Frankenstorm. Even parts of NYC have been evacuated, that's pretty crazy. New York Stock Exchange is closed; I don't think that's happened since 9/11.- What Was The Last TV Show You Watched?
I don't know if the World Series counts as a "TV show", but that's what I'm watching right now. Game 4. I would be watching The Walking Dead, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. GO TIGERS- The Walking Dead

This whole project is so awesome! I have a feeling that it's going to get even more awesome very soon...- Obama or Romney?
YA I'm just waiting for the day when some of the delegates to go against their parties' vote, because technically they can do that. One of my uncles was actually one of the Michigan delegates that put Clinton in office. :cheesy: - US braces for Hurricane Sandy
