The Walking Dead
Yeah that was pretty badass! Hmm, I'll have to think about my personal "Talking Dead" picks! Although I must say, I don't remember Rick calling Carl "15"; what scene was that? I think I have it available On Demand, so if I know where to look I'll see if I can pick up any context.

MLB 2012
Valverde is starting to tick me off. I'm very anti- blaming a single player for losing/almost losing a game; but in this case he single-handedly nearly lost the Tigers game against the Yankees. He's in for one inning, the 9th, and gives up 4 runs? We finally win it in the 12th, but sheesh. Between what happened last night, and blowing the 2-run lead in the bottom of the 9th in the fourth game versus Oakland... methinks we need to switch closing pitchers. Smyly did a pretty good job, so...

NFL 2012-2013
I went to the Lions game a couple of weeks ago. This was only my second time going to a game, and both times we've had people in front of us get escorted out of the venue. Nice. GO LIONS

So what monstrosity are you going as this Halloween?
There's probably a very similar mask over here, if I find one I should send it to you. My sister did that last year or the year before. However, she just looked like an average hooker.

So what monstrosity are you going as this Halloween?
I don't know what I'm going to dress up as, since I will probably just be handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I might try to find a Freddy Krueger-style sweater and get the sharp hand thingies at the Halloween store. My cat is the best Halloween decoration though. We get compliments on her every year.

Radiohead
lol I see what you did there you sneaky monkey Yes sometimes there are people that are just interested in one or two songs, which is a shame, but unavoidable. And I don't think it's really an age issue; there are oodles of teens who wholly appreciate Radiohead's entire career. There were lots of teens standing in line at the Detroit concert that were SO into the entire show, it was great to see that.

What made you LOL today?
A local news article that started with the opener: "A two-year-old boy has been released to the custody of his father after he was found locked in an abandoned car with a crack pipe and a juice bottle containing alcohol."

Radiohead
I recorded the Austin City Limits show that aired at midnight Saturday/Sunday, but I didn't get a chance to watch it all the way through yet. I fastforwarded at 5-minute intervals to see which songs were inluded in show (versus everything that they performed that night). ♫ I'm so glad... I'm so glad... they included TASOO - oo-ooo-oo-oo-o-ooo ♫ :drunk: Then there was a song that I didn't recognize, and Thom didn't say the name beforehand so I was lost. Then I looked online at the setlist and suddenly realized that I never went back to watch the videos for Indentikit! I intentionally didn't watch any videos before the Detroit concert becuase I wanted to experience a new song for the first time live. But then they didn't actually play it at the Detroit concert, and I forgot to go back and watch any Identikit videos! WELL, since Saturday night was the first time I've heard Identikit... I must say, I really like it. Better than Ful Stop, methinks.

US presidential debates: Obama v Romney
:lips: Don't worry, you won't get any flame from me! There are so many factors that go into this debate. And it's not that American's don't already have health insurance, I would say that the majority do have some sort of private health insurance, whether purchased on their own or through their employer. Essentially as mentioned above, I'd say the issue many people have is being forced into something else. There is already a piece-wise system in place which employed Americans pay for, including Medicare and Medicaid. And if you go to the emergency room, they can't deny you care because you don't have insurance or can't otherwise pay (up front). And then of course you have the current health insurance companies who are likely completely against health care reform. And doctors won't get as much money as they otherwise would, and would have a bigger workload with more patients who otherwise wouldn't have bothered to get checkups and get themselves fixed (as often). Becoming a doctor would then look less attractive for the younger folks who were thinking of going into the profession, and summing those things together could lead to a shortage in providers. Okay I'm rambling and probably over-simplifying things here, but there are so many things going on with this issue. I did a quick Google search and found this rather interesting little article/blog/thing. Basically this has been a long-standing "fear", for lack of a better word.

Meningitis Outbreak 2012: Steroid-Related Fungal Meningitis Cases & Deaths Rise
Meningitis Outbreak 2012: Steroid-Related Fungal Meningitis Cases Rise To 47 By MIKE STOBBE 10/05/12 07:59 PM ET EDT NEW YORK — As the tally from a deadly meningitis outbreak rose Friday, health officials identified the medical clinics across the country that received steroid shots for back pain now linked to the illnesses. Authorities took the step to help identify everyone who may have gotten sick – or may still get sick – in the outbreak. "All patients who may have received these medications need to be tracked down immediately," said Dr. Benjamin Park of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "It is possible that if patients with infection are identified soon and put on appropriate antifungal therapy, lives may be saved," he said in a statement. The CDC said the number of cases of the rare fungal meningitis reached nearly 50 cases, and spread to a seventh state Friday. The number of deaths in the outbreak remained at five. Investigators have focused on a steroid medication made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts. All the outbreak patients had gotten shots of the steroid for back pain, a common treatment, and inspectors found at least one sealed vial contaminated with fungus. On Friday, officials said they have found fungal infections in nine sick patients. They weren't able to identify what types of fungus in every one of those patients, but did distinguish at least two types – Aspergillus and Exserohilum. In all, 47 people have contracted fungal meningitis, the CDC said. Michigan became the seventh state to report cases, with four. Tennessee's cases now total 29; Virginia, six; Indiana, 3; two each in Maryland and Florida and one in North Carolina. Three people have died in Tennessee and one in Virginia and Maryland. The first known case in the meningitis outbreak was diagnosed about two weeks ago in Tennessee, and the steroid was recalled last week by the pharmacy, New England Compounding Center in Framingham, Mass. About 17,700 single-dose vials of the steroid were covered in the recall. On Friday, the government released the names of about 75 facilities in 23 states that got recalled doses between July and September. It's not clear how many were sent to clinics, how many were used, or even whether everyone who got one will get sick. Once infected, it can take as long as a month for symptoms to appear. At the prompting of government officials, clinics are notifying all the patients who got shots from the recalled lots. "There's a massive effort to contact all the patients," said Marsha Thiel, the chief executive officer of MAPS, a company that owns surgery center clinics in Minnesota. She added, "If there's any question at all, they're being directed to go to their physician." As a precaution, the Food and Drug Administration urged doctors not to use any of the company's products, and released a list Friday that included other steroids, anesthetics and a blood pressure medicine. The company, which is now closed, said in a statement Thursday that despite the FDA warning, "there is no indication of any potential issues with other products." The steroid is known as preservative-free methylprednisolone acetate, which the compounding pharmacy creates by combining a powder with a liquid. There are FDA-approved versions of the drug, sold by the brand name Depo-Medrol, in good supply. So patients who need the medicine should not encounter a shortage, the FDA said Friday. Most of the anxiety now involves patients who got steroid shots for back pain and are worried about becoming seriously ill. "Our phone is ringing off the hook this morning. Patients are calling. Of course, they're concerned," said Paulette Fry, practice manager at Wellspring Pain Solutions in Columbus, Ind., about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. She said the clinic was sending out letters to about 300 patients who received spinal injections with the drug. Meningitis is an inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms include severe headache, nausea, dizziness and fever. Fungal meningitis is not contagious like the more common forms. The types of fungus linked to the outbreak are all around, but very rarely causes illness. Fungal meningitis is treated with high-dose antifungal medications, usually given intravenously in a hospital. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/05/meningitis-outbreak-2012_n_1944179.html

US presidential debates: Obama v Romney
I find it amusing that the majority of the U.S. people in this thread so far (whether posting or "thanking") don't seem to want Obama, yet it appears that all the non-U.S. people do. In the months before Romney won the Republican nomination, there were wide swings in which delegate was in the "lead". Cain, Perry, Santorum, Gingrich and Romney all had their 15 minutes of being at the top and at the bottom. Members of the Republican Party couldn't come to a clear agreement, and it just so happens that the spinning bottle happened to land on Romney at the end. I can't imagine that a winner of spin-the-bottle would then somehow land up in the White House.
