Radiohead
The guy uses this as the "basis" for his argument: Ummm... exactly how is that unique to Radiohead? OH WAIT IT'S NOT I understand some of the points he's trying to make, but using the above statement as the basis pretty much makes his argument moot imho. Nobody would have been writing stuff like this if the stage hadn't collapsed. If it happened to a different band, people would have been writing the same poop about that band instead. Fickle is as fickle does. The root of the issue as far as that's concerned was highlighted in a different article recently which indicated there are proposed changes to North American ad-hoc stage set-up procedures. Part of the problem is that the support structure is comprised of aluminum because that crap is cheap to transport (because it's so light). Steel supports need to be used instead (which apparently is required to some degree in other areas of the world).

Why do some people keep tissue boxes behind their rear window?
^ That's actually a pretty good place; within reach, but out of sight. When they're next to the rear window you'd need go-go-gadget-arms.

Crests of Daylight/Glacial Fox/Crests, Foaming at the Mouth
Assuming you go to a public school instead of a private school, you can chalk that up to Separation of Church and State. In a very generalized sense, taxes can't fund religious stuff. Although religion can have an influence on even public school curriculum to some degree. Even though we had already learned about evolution in prior years of biology classes, when I was a sophomore (I think?) there was one student whose parents were Baptist and they essentially "forced" the school not to let them teach his son about it. So because of that one student, we had to replace that particular part of the curriculum with an uber-detailed analysis of the mini-steps of photosynthesis.

Why do some people keep tissue boxes behind their rear window?
 At first I thought they were amusing, but the novelty has worn off. It almost seems like bragging or something. And recently I saw a van with the ad-hoc family stickers and there were 7 kids (of various "sizes"). YAY, YOUR UTERUS WORKS! You want a gold star or something?!?

Why do some people keep tissue boxes behind their rear window?
OMG GREAT THEORY Or maybe K2/spice. Or "bath salts". :| I think the popo can pull you over and give you a ticket for that (if it's too high) since it obstructs your view and is a safety violation.

Why do some people keep tissue boxes behind their rear window?
That's true; although most of the times when I see it, there aren't any kids in the car. Even if that's the case, why would someone keep it there to essentially "advertise" such in-vehicle behavior? I usually keep tissues and/or napkins handy within reach in case of the rogue snotty sneeze at 80mph, and I typically use one when I'm pumping gas (nasty germs on the pump handle are nasty); but it wouldn't do me much good to keep them next to the rear window.

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris

Not yet (I don't think), but considering they already had most of August/September off on their schedule anyway, that seems to be the most likely scenario.

Radiohead
Okay I don't usually quote myself in posts, but I was talking to my husband about this last night. I told him how he's been using that thing for so long, if that ended up getting destroyed it would almost be like losing his baby or something. So I looked through my pictures again today... (see far right) Indeed, he even holds it like it's his baby. : (

:( WOW I just checked DAS and the Tour Dates section about an hour ago and it didn't say that. I guess I assumed they had one set of lighting display here, and one set over there so they didn't have to transport it. Although I suppose my logic was a bit off considering they'd have to transport stuff to Asia and Australia anyway. I didn't even give consideration to the "backline" elements; I had to google that term because I didn't know what it was. So yes, I suppose that means that much of their instruments and equipment would have been destroyed since most of it was already on stage. I wonder about Jonny's guitar... I think he's been using that thing since they started out, right?

I don't want to litter this thread with too much Radiohead, but after the concert I was wondering how far back the GA was filled since I couldn't really see. So I have to ask you: how much of the GA area was occupied? Did you happen to get a picture?

I almost feel stupid for asking this, but how do you know? :uhoh: I was actually considering responding to the dude. I had it all formulated in my head and stuff.

It's also going to get up to 35C today and extremely humid. And I have to play two games of softball later on. D:

I'm a little torn on that. I prefer sound at DTE, because the sound just goes out and doesn't get bounced off anything. I was in the upper level (far back) for Bruce Springsteen, and also for Bob Seger. Springsteen concert was annoyingly echo-y and the music seemed garbled together, whereas Seger was okay. However, for Radiohead I was on the rail so the experience wasn't quite the same. Although there were a few songs where it seemed like the sound was coming back to us from behind. I Might Be Wrong though. (ah ha ha ha ha ha you see what I did there) I should ask my coworker what he thought, he was in Section 101. What area were you in for the Radiohead concert? edit: I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer, I just want to be honest.

:bomb: That makes me realize that I forgot about adjusting the shutter speed on my camera during the concert. dammmmmmmit

That's correct. Although if it's anything like the concert at DTE, everybody will be standing the whole time anyway.

Yes as long as they keep on doing what they've been doing, there will be a ramp. Although I think ticketmaster still shows the inappropriate setup, which is a bit misleading particularly for people who aren't expecting it. Some people will think they have better seats than they actually get with the ramp being there, and some people will be surprised because their seats end up being better than what they thought... if that makes any sense.

Radiohead
:surprised: Oh, I was there too! Indeed it was a great show! Were you on the floor or did you have seats? My pics/vids/experience are a few pages back. Also, I recently uploaded this video which I didn't post in here earlier. And some guy sent me a message saying that the reason that Thom laughed at the end was because someone said around 0:19, "that's not what you said last night!" Now that the guy told me that, I can indeed (barely) make it out. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_C-v78IqYA]Thom Yorke loves Detroit... Awesome photos Mike! So where exactly were you standing? It looks like a row or two back in front of Ed or something like that? What kind of camera did you use? Quality looks so much better than mine. With my pics of Thom all you could see was a monotone blob of beard, but with yours you can see all his salt-and-ginger. LOL I JUST MADE THAT UP NOW
