  1. These venues don't have "curfews"? Around here (at least at any place I've been to), I think the sound system gets cut off at midnight even if they're not done. That acutally happened last year at a festival in Detroit when Flying Lotus was playing. He said, "I'm just going to keep playing until they shut off the sound." Sure enough, at midnight... speakers were cut.
  2. Forecast on Monday (Detroit concert) calls for 90 degrees and thunderstorms. That ought to making queuing even more fun! *sarcasm* BTW, I combined the old/new Radiohead threads... :awesome:
  3. 2 questions: On average, how many people are in the front row? You know, just so I can gauge my chances based on how many people are in front of me in line. For will call WASTE GA tickets, does that actually mean you pick up the tickets from a separate will call booth whenever they are available, and then you get in line? Or does it simply mean you show your order info when you enter (since there aren't tickets) and then they give you your wristband/whatever?
  4. dude, Thom's reaction... perfect ONE MORE WEEK AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  5. Awesome, I'm so happy for you guys! I've been debating whether to go for the Ed or Jonny side and I recently decided on Ed's side based on various videos online. Your story confirms my decision! I'm a little confused about the WASTE versus Ticketmaster "lines". Which type of tickets did you guys have? Did they actually let the WASTE people in early? Do you think the WASTE people were just for the reserved seats? Did they not differentiate between Ticketmaster versus WASTE general admission and both were together? / confused
  6. How many people are in front of you?
  7. When are you going to start queuing? Or are you already there?
  8. next leg of the tour starts tonight... :escaping2:
  9. I think we scared her away with all of the Radiohead nicknames. D:
  10. Something tells me there won't be a second leg for the US/NA. Before, they would stop in a city on the first leg, then stop there again on the second leg. But with the MX tour, they're already doing two dates in many of the cities. Frankly I think it would be a bit silly for them to do second leg this time around. I'd rather they spend the time in the studio.
  11. :surprised: Oooh, that looks very nice! Thank you for posting these pics! And once again, congratulations!
  12. Sometimes I very much dislike being short. This was the best I could do holding my hand straight up in the air and getting squished by everybody. I'm glad he did this first so I could just fall back afterward. I was doing a pretty good job of gradually making my way toward the front when the prior artist (Photek) was on, but during the last 15 minutes of Photek's performance people just started shoving their way in out of nowhere. Very uncomfortable. One girl was even crying. (clicky up to HD quality) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5hwWCt9QbY]SBTRKT - Lotus Flower Remix - Movement Electronic Music Festival - Detroit - May 26, 2012 - YouTube[/ame]
  13. Saturday was a comfortable 24ºC for the first day of the Detroit Movement Electronic Music Festival. Sunday and Monday will be slightly less comfortable at 34ºC with not very much wind and high humidity, apparently the heat index is supposed to get up to 38ºC. YYYYYAAAAAAYYYYYYZZZZ for being surrounded by thousands of hot/sweaty/sticky/stinky people.
  14. At some point I'll post my video of SBTRKT's Lotus Flower remix from the Detroit Movement Electronic Music Festival. YouTube has been in upload limbo for over an hour. Joy.
  15. I thought the ACL taping was supposed to air in May? This is a bummer, we have to wait until the fall. http://acltv.com/2012/04/20/preview-radiohead-on-austin-city-limits/
  16. "Invisible Man Remix" lol interesting
  17. Yeah but Coldplay pay people to do all that stuff for them anyway (it's not free), so by cutting out the middleman they'll make more money. They already pay for their global travel to promote (out of paycheck as opposed to out of pocket). If they did it themselves they wouldn't have to promote it nearly as much anyway, wouldn't have to do as many shows, wouldn't have to charge as much. All the CD/download sales goes straight to them. For all of the above... see Radiohead (In Rainbows). And even though Radiohead let people pay what they wanted for the music (even if it was nothing), they still ended up netting more money than they ever did with a label. Sold less, but made more. COLDPLAY DO IT YOURSELVES YO
  18. :surprised: I'm surprised he actually answered that question! Kind of hoping they switch labels though. Or maybe even do it on their own, fund it themselves. Heck, my friend's band funded the full recording/production/distribution process themselves for $2,000, so I think Coldplay could handle it...
  19. this makes me feel like such a noob :| well hello there oldie but goodie!
  20. Maybe we should just bid on it instead. :uhoh: To the OP... it looks nice on you, so why don't you just keep it? I can't see your face, but it makes the rest of you kind of look like Jonny. (Although I think Angie might disagree with the proportions.)
  21. If this app included a live feed feature it would be perfect. Then you could listen from afar. Too bad. http://itunes.apple.com/is/app/official-2012-movement-festival/id520817802 Can't believe it's this weekend already!
  22. I never did make a "wish setlist" back when the tour started, so I've given it a little thought before the new leg starts. Instead of considering an entire setlist, we know that most of the TKOL songs will be played, so I'll just focus on the "remaining" spots on the setlist and I'll assume that will be about 15 songs. In no particular order: The Amazing Sounds of Orgy Butcher 2+2=5 Idioteque How I Made My Millions Gagging Order Climbing Up The Walls Exit Music Jigsaw Falling Into Place You And Whose Army National Anthem I Might Be Wrong Myxomatosis Paranoid Android Karma Police / Street Spirit / Creep (one of those for mass singalong purposes) This makes me realize I need to extensively adjust the "top 15 songs" YouTube playlist I made last year. :|
  23. Good news: Season 5 starts July 15. Bad news: They are splitting this final season. The first 8 episodes will air this summer. The remaining 8 episodes will air... next summer. Yes. NEXT FRICKING SUMMER. WTFH AMC?!???! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/21/breaking-bad-season-5-amc_n_1534086.html
