Coldplay Glastonbury Projection for ETIAW
Thank you very much for that video, very interesting indeed. I hope Coldplay keeps an eye on that technology, and I think they will. We saw that they brought projections to the Hollywood Bowl shows, so they are definitely liking it. Now I can totally imagine them trying to bring that to a whole tour in the future : a stage that lights up. How awesome would that be. It might get tricky in arenas, and it will require a lot of extra work to their crews, but I can definitely imagine that coming to stadium shows for a start.

12 Coldplay Months of 2012: May (In which the band are in full concert swing)
I think this tweet was actually the review. Were you guys really expecting more?

12 Coldplay Months of 2012: January (In which the band consists of Chris and some musicians)
Cool review, thanks :) I voted NRJ Music Awards. Although the host did say this ridiculous thing TWICE, and the show was terrible, it reminds me of a great live tweet with a few coldplayers.

Oh right :surprised:

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
I think Light Through The Veins is basically the version you can find on Jon Hopkins' album Insides. The other ones will be slightly more difficult to find, if not impossible. i just can't think of any way.

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
I don't know if anybody has been posting a review of the iBook, here or somewhere else on the board... This book honestly feels like a bigger, more evolved version of the Tour Program that was and still is available to purchase during the tour. You'll find the same interviews of the band and some crew members in it, and the same pictures. You'll also find a few Roadie 42 blogs in it -mostly from the festival period-, a liveblog (Arsenal), supporting acts interviews. So to be completely honest, I was a little bit disappointed by the lack of really new content. But if you're not the biggest Coldplay fan ever, if you didn't get to put your hands on a Tour Program and/or don't hang out on coldplay.com, you'll LOVE this book. So, what's exactly new, then? There are a few pictures (or maybe I just missed those...? but honestly I don't think so), mostly behind the scenes of the ETIAW & Paradise video shoots, which are FANTASTIC. The band's interviews that you could already read in the book program are improved with audio snippets of the interviews, so you can actually hear the band, Phil Harvey, Dan Green... And the best new feature according to me : there are a few more audio interviews (quite short) of the crew : R#42 aka Matthew Miller (he basically assumes his "hidden part" in the interview), Matt McGinn, Will's drum tech Bash, the live video director, the audio crew chief, the venue security co-ordinator, etc. You get to know a bit more of the Coldplay family, and it's simply awesome. For the "true" huge Coldplay fan, even if there isn't really anything new, it is also very cool to look back at this tour and to watch again some of the coolest pictures or videos from the era : the group hug leading to the band walking on stage with the xylobands in Manchester, or R42's video of Chris' guitar point of view when it is thrown in the air... And the book simply looks gorgeous, especially on the Retina display (saddly everything isn't in HD ; most of it is, but I was disappointed in the video of Paradise with Paris' paintings animations, the quality is quite frankly awful). The photoshoots pictures look amazing. The Tour program was already looking awesome, but the iBook adds interactivity to the whole thing, with hidden features, and it feels so cool to be able to flick through it with your fingers, making bigger anything you want... that and reading the book with audio and video next to it totally gets you into the MX mood. As sad as it is, I think it's normal that you can't read it with an iPhone, it is scaled for a big screen. I'm glad Coldplay's team is always looking out for new technologies and new ways to bring us all the content they created. I hope they'll update it with more R42 crowd panoramas as the tour finishes. Thank you to whoever in the crew took the time to use iBooks Author, usually used for educational textbooks, and give to the "old" content like photoshoot pictures a new life by delivering those to the fans, who will always enjoy looking back at them. (tl;dr) So overall it's a great book, but don't expect too much new content, especially if you already had at the Tour Program and/or read the blogs. But even if you did, you might enjoy the whole interactivity of it and it can bring back some very cool memories. Plus it isn't that expensive!

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
That HDR effect looks weird. It looked great in the huge pic in his latest blog, but I'm not sure about it appearing in panoramas.

I'm sure there'll be something for France & Italy. Just wait, there isn't even an official announcement yet.

I didn't find anything about France, but all Utopolis cinemas in Luxembourg seem to host the event. http://www.utopolis.lu/events/477/ http://www.utopolis.lu/film/7872/

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Welcome back Tash ! Hope those few days were cool. I don't get the answer. Is it me, or is The Oracle - once again - completely missing the point ?

Hurts Like Heaven amazing cover
I was just checking one of my friend's vimeo profile ; turns out she filmed a french band, Elessar, covering Hurts Like Heaven a few months ago. I instantly loved that cover, I hope you will like it too ! <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/36544747?title=1&byline=1&portrait=1" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/36544747">Cover coldplay by Elessar</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user6276249">Charlotte Audureau</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Before ETIAW got released, there was this DJ or I can't remember exactly who it was, who said or tweeted something like "Wow, I just got the new Coldplay single, it's amazing, it is pop, dance, electronic, it is somewhere between Viva la Vida and Lovers in Japan, it has a techno vibe and bagpipes..." So the first time I heard the song I actually thought too for a second that this sound was made with bagpipes. I'll try never to forget the picture I made in my mind of the band wearing Scottish kilts, dancing and playing bagpipes in the Bakery.

Yeah, sorry about that, wasn't clear! Thanks Tash!

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
The official Coldplay french Facebook page just announced that we can preorder from "our HMV", fnac.com, but it also says there is footage from Madrid, along with Glastonbury, Paris and Montreal

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
If you paid for it and if it's written in your order confirmation, it's just paranoid to think that you'll get something else because the name isn't exaaaaactly the same. If your DVD doesn't include a lithograph, I will personally go all the way to London to kick EMI's boss' ass. I will.
-
ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
(Hey, my hair!) Yeah, I'm sure. A) I ordered mine like 5 minutes after the announcement and also got the "poster" name in my recap mail. B) Coldplay.com says there are 5,000 lithograph DVDs (which is actually quite a "big" number...), and normal DVDs with nothing else. They never said "some will get a lithograph, the others will get a poster". C) Poster and lithograph are some damn synonyms, aren't they?
-
ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
You worry way too much. Lithograph = poster!
-
ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
I think the short setlist only kind of confirms the fact that the film is the live footage mixed up with the documentary/diary. Makes sense to me!

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
Don't underestimate the power of editing. He may have been homesick, but that sad effect is mostly given through black & white and Chris' voice talking about sad stuff.
-
ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
It depends on : - the size of the box (square or rectangle) - if there's a poster with it or not (the 3 on top have one, the 3 on the bottom of the page don't)

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
That's weird indeed and it does suck. If coldplay.com gave a release date for the US, it would be very weird of them to ship PAL DVDs only. If only we knew if they plan on releasing it in stores, we'd know for certain that NTSC DVDs exist... I guess ? I guess you can't order without being certain of all that - maybe you guys should try contacting emimusic or the oracle ?
