  1. He's pissing off his key supporters on that very issue, I know. Most presidents run into these problems in their first term. I think he's smart, but I don't have much confidence on the people who surrounds him. It remains to be seen how he gets himself out the hole he's digging himself in.
  2. Yes. And to your point, I don't think those parties are so weak as much as both parties are very good at scare tactics, and not allowing them entry. They usually don't even want to debate them until everyone is too scared to throw their votes away.
  3. Amen! We need a third party so all involved can stop taking their constituents for granted.
  4. I should really stay away from this thread, but what the hell... Obama came on the scene at a time when America's reputation around the world was in the dumpster. He ran a brilliant campaign and therefore gave the media and the establishment an opportunity to say: Look! America is still the land of opportunity, we are still capable of being innovative, where else in the world could you see such a man rise to the pinnacle of power. His story was compelling and we love a good looking young family, so everyone, or rather those that backed him up, ate everything up. Now, comes time to govern and the reality is much different (and let's not forget the opposition). I have no idea how people excepted that he was going to fix everything, but he has not help his case much. How good or bad a president he may be is pretty much debatable, but it's obvious (to me) he is more of a policy wonk in than anything else.
  5. Keren Ann! Where have I been...
  6. The fact that she says the song is wonderful and heartbreaking means that she thinks that Chris did a good job, and by now it's common knowledge that he wrote. She probably does not want to brag about it too much, I would guess.
  7. Sounds like good mommy to me!
  8. Cairo Time 7/10 A nice and pleasant little film, even if a bit slow with a disappointing yet ironic ending. It's becoming a trend now to film movies about cities. Cairo was captured beautifully on film, so much so that I want to see the place!

A lot of people dismiss Chris' anger by saying the paps are just doing their jobs so why get so bent out of shape. But why do these pests have to invade these peoples personal space? They can shoot their pics long range so there's no reason whatsoever why this guy's nose should be in the widow of the car. I would blow up too. Regardless of how famous you become, you are still human with all that entails. Why can't the paps abide by a rule of conduct, have some manners, and show a sense decency. Ok, that's too much to ask and I know I'm wasting my breath.

I couldn't muster enough energy required to engage at your level nor would I ever want to... Having said that, saw the video and gave my impression, nothing more and nothing less.

Yeah, if Chris read some threads here and see the insults people hurl at his wife all the time, I bet he would have the same reaction. HAVE SOME RESPECT - love how he kept repeating that. And the pap doesn't get why he's angry...
  12. Remastered or not, if she did not have a good voice to begin with, she would still not sound good. I know I'm bias, but I really think she pulled it off. So Mazal tov, Gwyneth.
  13. It's a figure of speech so I don't mean it literally. Bottom line: he can't dress for shit.
  14. The lead singer wears ridiculous clothes; can't dress to save his life:D
  15. ^How can Apple be producer? How much money does she have in her piggy bank or did she just supervise, LOL. I want to hear the song!
  16. ^A birthday party for the sultan of Brunei is what's next, if this is true. I don't like jz's music, but I like that Chris is not a snob and all, however, this friendship is getting out of hand and the rest of the band should go on strike to prevent this from happening.
  17. I something similar on youtube featuring a bunch of street artists from all over the world! Fantastic idea and a great cause, good for Will!
  18. I think we are overlooking the writer's larger point, which uses Coldplay as an example, but can be applied to any artist or whatever. Art is subjective so naturally people's opinion will differ on what constitute "good" music/artistry, and it is also true that fans are/can be overprotective, but discussing people "perception" is also a right to express an opinion. What is in question, however, is the intensity of emotions people use to make their arguments, and what that say about who we are and how we process information. People will hate so let them is a fine position, but what's the point is what the article is asking? But sure we can agree to disagree.
  19. BRILLIANT! It's about time someone challenge those who are encouraging people not to read and think critically by reducing everything to its lowest common denominator. And reading this piece, I even learned a few new words today. Thank you!
  20. Well, I'm embarrassed to say that I had no idea who these guys were until Chris started going out with GP. I guess that means I became aware of them around 2002, but didn't really turned into a fan until I saw Zack Braff's movie, The Last Kiss, which featured Warning Sign! I immediately ran to my local borders and brought both Parachute and AROBTTH, and I've been hooked ever since. Once I started reading on the band, it didn't take long for me to be totally charmed by Chris' wit and intensity, Will's seriousness and thoughtfulness, Jonny's kindness and calming presence, and last but not least Guy's beauty (he's a hard one to pinpoint so I'm sticking to the vanity, lol). Basically, like most everyone else who appreciates these four young men, I like that they seem to be smart, polite and conscientious people. I love their music and combined that with Chris’ voice and the result is pure magic.
  21. ^judging by the little smirk on his face, I'd say that's exactly what he's thinking.
  22. Those lips drive me crazy:embarrassed:
