I just re-read the lyrics, and since they're making stuff up, why not me! Here's my storyline: A man lost his love (NOT Chris) years ago and now there is "wedding bells"! She's (insert name here) moving on so he (the man who lost his love) has to "swallow the bitter pill". [There is a disconnect here in the storyline, but what the hell, I'll fill in the blank --- the man must have tried to get to the love at some point without success]. He wants her to forget what happened/how it happened because now that his life is in shamble "caked in mud", he's realizing that since he can't have her, he wants her to know that "he loves her and always will". Who are the two former lovers? My overactive imagination is overdrive, LOL.

I don't think he destroyed anything with that verbal assault. He just proved he's not a very objective commentator.

I just read a little blurb on him, so yes he's not a music critique per se. In his little bio, it says that he comments on the alarming influence that celebrities have on the public, which I think is his main objection to this, yet he's categorizing Martin as uninteresting for not being a drinker and so on. I don't care if he did not like the performance, but he just say so without all the unnecessary name calling. You might be right about: "any press is good press", but I hate that probably as much as the term "it is what it is".

"He doesn't drink. He doesn't smoke. He doesn't do anything remotely interesting, actually, besides leaping about on stage in a faintly preposterous way to his band's god-awful music and whining endlessly and intolerably about "equality" and fair trade." By this dude's definition, Amy Whinehouse and that Pete Doherty fellow are the most interesting people in the universe. Then I say: thank god Chris Martin is not interesting. I'm shocked that a personal attack on a musician is what passes off as music critique these days.

I don't like the lyrics at all, but Chris signing anything always sounds good to me!

I don't want to prolong this issue since it's being addressed in the post above, but if I may ask a question: why is thinking someone is wonderful not constructive? It certainly is. Going by all the information I know of her, I "deduced by inference or interpretation" that she is. I may be right or I may be wrong, but until I have proof of the contrary, I choose to think I'm right. I dislike a lot of things and I can come up with reasonable argument as to why I do. And I can also have negative comments on Gwyneth herself. Just because you like someone doesn't mean they are without faults. They are all human after all. That's such a beautiful picture of her, Alex. I love that photoshoot!

^Sure, they can post whatever they want. However, stating: "she's a whore" and other such wonderful adjectives is in no way constructive, and thus becomes merely a form of harassment of those who do like her. It's childish/immature and that's what people object to, not whether or not they are entitled to post negative comments. I don't even know why I'm responding since it's quite obvious that those who advocate for constructive criticism are wasting their breath.

Yes, NEVER... EVER... EVER. I've never come across such moronic bunch. I like Jared though, he does the job without any vitriol unlike the other bloggers. He gives the facts with the pictures and he's always polite and very sensible. Gwyneth looks fantastic!

Well, ok maybe he's not watching all the re-runs all the time, but everyone is obsessed with football so why not Chris. If the press is going to make stuff up, I'd much rather this because it's fun at least.

He dresses badly and that's a fact. Expressing a point of view is what is done here, right. Agree or disagree that's a different story. But I must say the man makes dressing like a clown it's own art form so he's talented in more ways than one. And I agree, there is no mistaken those blue eyes and rosy lips ever! No one is saying he looks bad, but let's just say his clothes are "interesting".

WOW! Music seems to be his drug so it makes perfect sense that he's not interested in the other kind. I wonder how he contains all that energy when he's not touring, or maybe he doesn't and in that case, damn Gwyneth.
