Unfortunately FedEx Field is notoriously expensive to park. $50 is the base price & fees. If you go to FedEx Field’s website to purchase parking in advance, you can choose location - F Orange & F Green will put you closest to the highway to leave after the concert.

Hi Bob, I applied for the 8-July show in Washington, DC a month or so ago, but unlike a few of the Coldplayers above, I didn't receive a confirmation email saying I'd hear back within a few weeks of the show, etc. Although my network acts rather spotty at times, I'm fairly certain my submission went through because I DID receive a confirmation for a future transaction made shortly thereafter. I'd love help out if Oxfam still needs volunteers, but the last thing I want to do is flood the inbox of the person who receives the online applications with duplicates. Any advice? I'm a little late to the game here but this is my first chance getting to read the reviews from your marvelous adventures! I'm so happy the three of you (and about 63 others) saw the guys perform more than two songs -- it's just too bad I couldn't get a visual feed via your eyeballs since your placements sounds absolutely primo. :rolleyes: I'm afraid the review & pics from the Red Bull/KROQ breakfast of champions, or rather Dianne's breakfast with Mr. Champion will have to wait until tomorrow. I know your pictures are going to be amazing, the stories full of detail; but I also know at some point a loud "squeee" will escape and the restless natives will pounce into action! Looking forward to seeing y'all on TV the 27th!

What a nice surprise! Finally, we get a "Guy-centric" article to keep us busy while waiting for MX's official release next week! :dance: I really see this as a two part gift. First part, something for us to enjoy due to the utter lack of solo Guy interview material out there. :laugh3: The second and probably the more fun of two: the hours of entertainment the new article will provide people! Normally one wouldn't consider :computer: research to be all that entertaining, but it's a different story when you're gleaning materials to solve life's ultimate question.... While I'm sure it was a "chalk on the blackboard" moment for you :evil:, I'm actually REALLY happy that they did it this way. Why have an exclusive event filled with people who semi like Coldplay? I got stuck next to some radio contest winners at the ACL taping and it was a pretty miserable experience! :( While I didn't expect them to know all the new songs...say like some of the more enthused :wink3:, at least know the names of their "greatest hits" -- especially if you plan to yell them out on camera! :facepalm:

Chelsea, thank you for being a) proactive, b) incredibly organized and c) generous for sharing this with this rest of us. I created appointments for as many dates I could remember but inevitably I left off a few! :D One thing that comes to mind when looking at this schedule: frequent flyer miles. :o The week of Oct 16th, the guys are racking up with trips from NYC to LAX!

Hi everyone ~ late joining the game here for the Midtown Festival but I just found out today that I have tickets (regular, not VIP), so I guess I'm going! :laugh3: I JUST got back from Austin yesterday afternoon, where I saw them perform at the ACL taping and then of course, at the festival. I heard "Up in Flames" and I thought it was brilliant, but I really don't think it will make an appearance on the set list. I would've given my right arm & then some to see the guys perform "Til Kingdom Come" in Texas... Probably for the best they didn't because I was down in front with several other Coldplayers and I would've started crying right then & there! I don't know if definitive plans are in place to meet up, but by having a larger crowd together -- especially in the front -- then it makes life all the easier for taking turns to get food, drinks and use the facilities. For ACL, several CPrs met before the gates opened and then booked it to the stage to set up shop. We then took shifts for food, water & bathroom for the remainder of the day, or at least up to a certain point. With the first two performances it wasn't very difficult to leave & return. However towards the third -- no hope moving to & from our spots so people drank their water sparingly! :D I don't think a single person even dared to drink more than a beer that day! I personally don't know my travel plans yet, but I fully intend on getting there bright & early, setting up shop and not moving the entire day! :) .

***** This is my first chance to really write & even now, it won't be that much since I'm mentally & physically spent from my week in Texas. Jimmy, Jen, Lauren, Jessica, Dianne and Mitch, Dianne's incredibly genius husband/concession extraordinaire -- thank you for the amazingly fun time at ACL. It was such a pleasure to meet you, and I sincerely thank you for allowing me to share in the collective experience. My only regrets are not starting out sooner with my walk to Zilker (a mistake I did not repeat Saturday & Sunday) and not taking the time to thoroughly research a digital camera before up & buying one at a Best Buy kiosk. Better yet, find out how all three of those girls directly behind us Friday managed to sneak their DLSR cameras into the festival! I have yet to look through my photos and small video snippets because it's been go, go, go since last Friday. I plan to knock it out sometime later on today after a nap. Here's to hoping some little gem can be gleaned from a photo or two, though 100% sure nothing of mine will top Dianne's photos! Rather easily if your Chris Martin, Grand Poobah of fidgeting.

Awesome weather last night & happy to see it's here to stay for the weekend. Answer to your question: Yes, they always overbook these things. Similarly to the Pops concert on BBC, having a ticket/reservation doesn't guarantee you a spot b/c they do cut off at fire code capacity. As for this next part, I have to be rather cryptic for the moment b/c I really don't want to anger this person... I personally find it very hard to believe that people are as angry over Coldplay playing the show/festival as they'd like you to believe because every big donor past, present or currently courting, television/media execs, celeb in town wants to be there. While we'd die over the stage area, standing room only tickets, the far more primo seats (view wise) are actually Mezzanine/Balcony. Who's more likely to show up ready to see Coldplay? Fan or Funds? You have a 50/50 chance of guessing right but better plan both in some instances. Whereas fans just sign up for the lottery with an unwavering "Yes! I'm absolutely going if I win!" the individuals falling into the funds/celebs categories may or may not have RSVP'd. They may or may not have additional, also equally important people with them and then what do you do? Who do you turn away? The person who got free tickets to see a musical performance that while yes, is "paid for by public funding" in reality, is REALLY paid for through generous donations from corporations, grants and/or individuals. While we're at it, let's tack on the added heartburn of people signing up for tickets with no intention whatsoever of coming, more or less even setting foot in the state of Texas. Not to mention the SOB ticket scalpers out there trying to profit from FREE tickets. These 1-2 people/companies selling on eBay & Craig's list are first directly stealing $1000 immediately from a 5013© non profit, aka ACL/ PBS, (Coldplay will be paid scale, as with any other band, great or small); but the scalpers will get them once more in the back end by taking away precious seating. I can only imagine whats going on behind the scenes right now. I know I'm going to be in the minority here but I'm empathetic towards their situation. Then again, I'm a fundraiser so there you go! I've been meaning to post in here the past few weeks but Hurricane Irene threw a wrench into my plans & no matter where I traveled in VA/NC, internet and cell service remains spotty. Like many of you, I'm going for the taping tickets, and I plan to be there early Friday to camp out, most likely alone because no one in my group is insanely crazy like I am apparently! Dianne, I believe you met up with Jason DeBord at the UCLA show, right? I won a pair of Samsung tickets but ended up not going (obviously) due to flight/scheduling issues, and after hearing about it, I'm so happy it didn't work out in the end! Due to another set of flight (more like weather) issues, I also missed out on meeting up with Jason & several others for the Liverpool/Newcastle shows. Anyway, thought I'd "introduce" myself -- I'm Amanda.

Hmmm...how does one exactly explain the Oracle answering whether or not Chris Martin shits in the woods, bags or buries it so that they laugh too? Like most, I bought ETIAW numerous times and will buy it again in October. I refuse to fall into the trap of buying the same recording of Paradise packaged ten different ways this time around! (Though check back in with me in a few weeks because I'm a complete & total sucker for limited edition packaging.) I must admit, I feel incredibly guilty for enjoying a couple of the shows from this past summer on my iPhone... Listening to the new songs from these shows keeps me going until MX releases in Oct. I (almost) feel better about the whole summer concert situation because because I have purchased multiple copies and will continue to do so in October. Digitally for the immediate listen, cd for back up, and a couple of the special vinyls. :D

You certainly have far more patience than most (yours truly included)! :D How many Lego pieces did you use during the process? Also, did you build/film in succession with the song?

With IAD, DCA & BWI in your general vacinity, and all if the fantastic airline deals out there (Southwest, JetBlue, Airtran), you're more likely to pay more for your festival ticket than a one way trip to Atlanta!

Trust me, plenty of people will help you get to Vegas in style - first class and multi room suite no less -- if you sell. I just sincerely hope it's for one HELL of a trip with some sort of significant meaning (your wedding, friend's wedding, etc.) because I would hate for you to sell this & then be sorely disappointed with Sin City. :worried2: Also, I think it's incredibly generous & noble to donate half of the proceeds to a charity on their behalf. :D If you shouldn't hear back from their management, which is highly unlikely considering how responsive they are with fans, you can always donate to an organization they've helped in the past: Crisis, Kids Company, Mencap, War Child, Made Trade Fair, Oxfam, etc.
