Swallowed in the Sea guitar Ad lib
Hey I was wondering if any experienced guitar players could tab out the ad lib by jonny on swallowed in the sea. I have the guitar tab for swallowed in the sea but it only includes the acoustic guitar part, and designates the electric guitar as ad lib. His guitar work sounds great for the song and I would love to learn it, but I'm just learning guitar and ear for the sound is still in the novice phase. Thanks

Swallowed in the sea OR A message?
Swallowed in the Sea, although A Message is not bad, just love the beginning for swallowed in the sea, and its melody line and bridge

End chords for Politik?
Hey shane, at what octave do you play that at, C3 or C4 In the video i've seen and just by the sound he plays in Ab(3) and C(4) Could you write your transcription for the ending instrumental cascade that he does during the live shows? Thanks

End chords for Politik?
Amazing chord progression at the end He goes from C7 to Fm (Ab as the bass note in the chord (an inversion) Basically in the Right hand: Ab, C, F, Ab then Db6 or (Bbm) kind of the same thing: Bb, Db, F, Bb then Ab: C, Eb, Ab, C then Ebsus4: Bb Eb Ab Bb then Eb: Bb Eb Bb (he doesn't play the G in the right hand but rather in the left hand the left hand has basically the bass note of the chord in a octave. The instrumental at the end from what i've seen in the videos. Fm to Csus4: Ab C F Ab to G C F G. and the end cascade is basically the notes from the Fm chord: F Ab, Eb G, C F, Ab C or something like that If anybody has that end cascade transcribed, I would appreciate it... Once again Amazing chord progression, the end of white shadows has a similar ending chord progression Coldplay just continues to find them, and that just further elevates their music Hope that helps

Rank The Songs - X & Y
1. Swallowed in the Sea : Pure genius, 2. White Shadows: Love the Bass guitar on this, and the ending organ chord progression (Coldplay without a doubt have some of the best chord progressions in the business (e.g. Politik, Scientist) 3. Talk (loved the old one, but love this one even more, they better play this at the u.s. concerts) 4. Fix You - truly their "with or without you", great organ and ending chorus riff by Jonny 5. Speed of Sound : I know most people are tired of it, but it's a great song with a catchy chorus and lyrics that I could relate to 6. Square One - great synths, another great ending 7. A Message - the nice chordy simple song they needed and got 8. X & Y - great homage to the Beatles 9. What If - Standard Coldplay (which is great) with a sprinkle of A day in the life at the end 10. Low - Didn't like it at first (heard it live), but the spoons brought me back 11. Til Kingdom Come -actually should be higher, great acoustic song, with nice octaves by the drummer extraordinaire 12. Hardest Part - didn't like at first, but extremely catchy and another day for the "guitar hero" 13. Twisted Logic - I'm glad they put it on the record, Chris gets his commentary in, and takes a plot device from Spielberg. Overall, the top 5 are ones I play immediately as of right now, but the whole album rocks and continues to amaze

The World of Everything Else.... Talmud of Jmmanuel
I was wondering who here has ever read or heard of the Talmud of Jmmanuel. It is supposedly the source for the Gospel of Matthew, and according to an analysis of its verses vs. the ones found in the King James version, it clears up a lot of the contradictions and dillemas that New Testament scholars find throughout the gospel. I bring this up only because people (i.e. mostly conservatives or Republicans) consistently base a lot of their beliefs and values on the Bible. This document clears up a lot of the misconceptions and actually reverses a lot of their arguments about life, death, and our purpose for being. I feel if we as a civilization could get together and dispel the misconceptions of why we're here, then we could move on past the childish arguments and better the world. I wanted to see how many people who might have heard or read this profound book. Thanks If you want to check out the analysis, http://www.proaxis.com/~deardorj/

Which "X&Y" song do you play the most....?
Swallowed in the Sea, the melody and phrasing is pure emotion. Talk, love both versions, the album version however is more complex and layered... I can see what the band by dayjobbing the album, the first version is like Coldplay lite... White Shadows, great rhythm and bass guitar, good chorus (a little too much like Prince though) but overall great track Fix You, of course, although I miss the oh's from Chris (which are in the live ones) during the instrumental bridge to the chorus. A Message, that "simple chordy" vintage Coldplay song X & Y, the beatles are reborn, great guitar riff throughout mixed with the strings How You see the World is a great track also, It has to be a b-side to a potential single

Coldplay Day on radio one
Better at Hockey Yeah I read that Chris and Will were on the college club team, and that's how Will heard about Chris looking for a drummer, Will introduced his friend who decided not to show up and Will took over instead... I'm a big hockey fan and play it myself, I wanted to see who was better just as a joke, that's cool that he asked it, Chris is on now, i hope he asks it

Coldplay Day on radio one

The New "Talk" is freaking Amazing
Old vs. new Old Talk definitely was awesome with a driving tempo, and great lyrics, but it did sound more AROBTTH you can hear Ken Nelson's work New Talk, at first, I didn't like it bc I was used to the old one, but this one is definitely growing on me, and I really like it now and the lyrics are interesting It's amazing how many variations of a song there can be, I would love to hear other versions of the other songs Coldplay must have gone through, but then again we'll have to wait for the complete Coldplay set The guitar at the 4 min mark is awesome, and I'm glad they kept the ending chorus, I like the simplicity of the first one, and the complexity of the 2nd version. By the Swallowed in the Sea is amazing, I hope they have a simple version just with the synth pads on a single release, Coldplay have definitely progressed
