  1. Thanks Dan - i can get most of it, but there's something he does in the left hand that i'm not getting i think, I'll try after the show too. nice - Charlie Brown! really love the studio version, can't get over that the voices is just Chris's voice singing "all the girls all the boys, all the madness in the world..." sped up - a great trick that adds to the song
  2. interesting to hear jonny's parts on Viva live - when the studio is pretty much devoid of any guitars, i think
  3. Can anyone skilled in piano, do a transcription of this viva bit - i know the melody, it's coordinating it with the left hand chords, and timing - love the intro Was at a wedding, and afterwards at the bar was playing a few songs, tried to play the Viva intro like he does to get people started.
  4. Can we pour some water on? plus Jonny's great riff, and then shoegaze slide at the end -
  5. awesome they got the drum sample - love that extra oomph (digital effect or whatever) - it really adds to Up in Flames (great song once i heard the studio version) - glad Will's using electronic drums for it.
  6. i really wish they could recreate the studio soundscape of Paradise - i mean, i like the piano, but the strings and the soundscape (enoxification) really elevate the song, plus the strings after the 1st verse on the studio version really are a great part of the song - that volume needs to be turned up.
  7. Tracie - i am too, hopefully get a good recording of this concert I learned the Charlie Brown piano outro (really simple) yesterday, and can't stop playing it.
  8. violet hill - wasn't sure about when they released it - but it is one of my favorites - so bluesy - such different influences on Viva - really liked that Eno made them make each song try to be different in influences - listen to Viva again, each song is really different from the previous one love the jonny soundscape on the ending of violet hill.
  9. parachutes 333 - totally agree - the way he played scientist that night was amazing, and just like tonight, love the little trills/riffs he improvises on the piano - adds a lot to the song. he went an octave higher on a part tonight, have to try it out
  10. one of the first songs i learned of theirs on piano, Chris really has a gift of adding simple little riffs to his piano lines, i try to emulate them, and it's an amazing feeling when i get it right, like this ending he's doing now - love it.
  11. Wondered why he said sorry Will - i didn't hear him mess up btw, yesterday they messed up during UIF and Guy messed up during Politik (love watching them all smile or laugh when it does happen, still the same 4 guys from way back - that's what i like about them - down to earth, and earnest.
  12. well it is an hour show so they have to make cuts - not that they're changing setlists
  13. man - they're going through the motions - love Scientist, but change up the setlist - maybe it's just easier for them to do this with the light show and all - but they have to figure out a way to change up the setlists on the fly - they have so many good songs to play live.
  14. AROBTTH - Rush should be back on the setlist, plus Amsterdam (great songs) X&Y - A message as well - Gravity would be great to hear live again Viva - 42 (just bc I love when Jonny rocks out) come on J
  15. Jonny and Chris really were a match made in heaven - you can see how much chris is so thankful for having met him, and I truly believe he wrote Green Eyes mostly for him in a man crush sort of way (though they've said otherwise).
  16. love watching jonny on this as he really starts getting into it, and being a guitar hero (thanks chris for pushing him)
  17. Till kingdom come (though I love the song, and felt they didn't do a good job of it) in place of Us Against the World is a big no no - unless they're trying to figure out how to incorporate the organ part bc that part just elevates the song to another level and if they could capture that live, it would be amazing. Btw, never get tired of In my place - always should be on the setlist
  18. yeah - not too happy with setlists so far - they have so many songs to use - would love to see Swallowed in the Sea back from X and Y, Trouble maybe, Yes or 42, need to see/hear a full Reign of Love, Talk, Square One, plus they need to play more of the album - every track if possible - god I love this album - they really need to think of setting up a tour of just playing the album with added hits to fill out the list. Would love it. I'm going to start a petition for it.
  19. learned this on piano finally with mx as the intro - it is like therapy - rejuvenates the soul - Coldplay really make beautiful music, and find great chord progressions - so simple, but so amazing.
  20. don't let em take control no we let em take control love the robotic voice effects on Chris
  21. see the arrow they shot, trying to tear us apart, fire from my belly, and the beat from my heart - god i love this song
