I love Matt Whitcross and the videos Coldplay have done together - especially what they did for Paradise, Lovers In Japan... and I like the street vibe visual for the song - but this song is so epic and grand - heavenly and outer space kind of hit, or at least something to do with a sky full of stars - I could come up with some really great ideas for them to make a legit music video that captures the out of this world nature of this song. I am bit disappointed to be honest - it's nice, but not the right fit for this majestic song. They could have incorporated fans into the video by being out in a field under the sky full of stars - I'm sure there are some amazing sky full of stars there in the outback, and across the world. The title itself is such a beautiful visual (e.g. the visual animation of the cover art) - ahhhhh, was hoping for more... but it the official video (I wonder if they would do a second one like they did with Viva - that is more in line with EDM aspect of the song and an actual sky full of stars) -

Some coldplayers are such music snobs - appreciate music in all its forms like Chris does - I actually think the story of my life is a very good song and was hoping they would cover that instead as I knew they were going to cover a one direction song. Regardless, great to hear that the guys are still in form for festivals.

I called it... Magic would be amazing at a festival crowd - it's a very good and catchy song - Another brilliant single by the boys - can you ever doubt these guys and Phil? I replied to another post where someone said how many songs could they play off GS down the road - there are plenty of songs they could play - including midnight, magic, ASFOS - true love, ink, Always in my head, even O.

I still love it - the opening track really sets the mood - I honestly like the recent trilogy - GS, MX, and Viva more than I do the original trilogy - listening to AROBTTH - which is good, but the leaps and bounds they have made in their sound is phenomenal. I can see why they didn't want to remake their old albums - they're good for their respective time, but man, coldplay just kept getting better over the last 3 albums. Dont' get me wrong, I love their original trilogy - but as cohesive albums go these last 3 are better. GS is phenomenal for me - I can listen to it fully through without skipping, and I actually enjoy all the songs consistently. Great album, i can't believe they are going to have another one relatively soon - we are getting spoiled in the greatest way. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

MX is one of their best albums despite the naysayers here - I don't know what the others are thinking, but it's probably one of the most cohesive concept albums they've made with a great story/universe built through the song sequencing. I really wished they had played this album through like they are doing for Ghost Stories, they could have the animation along with other made up clips (like they did for Ghost Stories). It would have been a Coldplay rave of sorts but with actually good music than a droning of repetitive bass and drum.

clocks - please give it a rest - but I know why they play it, because it was the other big hit for them and grammy winner. Their philosophy is that they have to think some of their audience is seeing them for the first time - so they would want to hear clocks.

Hey MichaelSD - I'm kind of noob with this stuff, but love the sound of bowers and wilkins and supposed hi-fi sound. Is it worth getting these tracks in 24 bit if I run them through either the dragonfly dac or bowers and wilkins zeppelin - they both mention upsampling up to 96khz/24 bit resolution. Im really tempted to buy them because Ghost STories has that great atmospheric sound and bass that is amazing to hear when paired with decent music files. R flacs from various websites/torrents the same as these HD tracks or ?? I have the CD - I am just better ripping them to FLAC in 16 bit. thanks in advance

I think Magic will be around - it's catchy, chill and people clap along to the beat - I can hear entire crowds singing along to the chorus easily. Midnight will be a show stopper in terms of visuals and sound. I think the transition from Oceans into Sky Full of Stars is an easy one, but Sky is on par with ETIAW and Viva in terms of anthems. True Love could work here and there. Easily Always in my Head... it's such a blissful track with some of the best guitar/bass work by j and guy, and the synths work perfectly. O for sure. So i'd say 5 to 7 songs could work long term. O and AIMH would be enough for me, coupled with their three singles ASFOS, Magic, Midnight - they easily could play these in an arena.

That is a ridiculously amazing set list !!! So lucky... Wish I had gone, should have known they would play the full album through - I really wanted to experience that - I've been saying that they should do that for MX for a while - Maybe they listened for this album & really r making that effort - this hands down is a great setlist especially with the other gems thrown in - I thought a whisper was played once live back in arobtth tour but put quickly back in storage bc it didnt go over as well as they thought it would... Anyway, might have to get royal Albert hall tix if they pull this stunt again - I hope so

Was there any doubt? We are so blessed to have a band like this in this day and age of music - there is still hope... Congrats Coldplay - keep up the great work!!!

it looks like theyre promoting true love potentially as another single - both the nbc broadcast & this stream featured it - will b interesting to see what happens

Frankly, it's more clear now what happened with the Latin tour of Mylo that was supposed to take place last year around Jan through March - they canceled without explanation. But it seems that Chris canceled it because Gwyneth probably was getting tired of him being on the road and away all the time (either in the studio, or on tour)... he tried to make it work, even moving out to L.A. to make it easier for her, but despite the attempt and whatever else that followed for the past year - it didn't work out. In that process, Chris went into a songwriting process that was both cathartic and therapeutic for him. The result is another brilliant album by Coldplay - that's what you get when you have that much talent and chemistry in a band. They are not touring it extensively for logistic reasons, primarily. The way they want this album to be is more intimate with this elaboate in the round stage set up like we saw on the tv special. That cost 4 million dollars to set up one time. Unfortunately they don't have U2 level money yet, and can't afford it. So, they compromised and made a film to visualize the album for audiences. Anyway, what that means is that they have another album coming soon by late 2015, or early 2016... or perhaps even earlier in 2015 if they feel confident in the tracks they produce/create. This is kind of amazing especially as they do traditionally have 3 yrs between albums. I only hope they take their time and produce quality work rather than rush another album out because they just want to tour. I doubt they would do that, as Will wouldn't allow it (thank god for Will, btw).. Anyway, can't wait.

Odvan - I have the Muse album in their high definition FLAC - it is amazing paired with a Dragonfly DAC and Bowers & Wilkins P7 or play them through the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air. Like you said, you have to have the proper equipment to truly appreciate hi-definition tracks. That being said, do you have tracks from that site - I'm interested in getting files as close as to the master studio recordings as possible. Thanks

I don't think they are going to release any more singles in full force like they did with Magic and ASFOS... they are not going to tour the album extensively. At most, I see one more being just released to radio - Possibly True Love (as they did keep it in the TV Broadcast special) Unless, they've commissioned Mila to make more single artwork... then we'll have to see.

ALAC vs FLAC - which one is the better to pick up or is it just a matter of convenience?

I really hope they work on some more film segments for the other songs (a la Oceans) in the interim from when they plan on releasing the blu-ray - that may make up for not being able to tour this album proper.

No midnight??? come on ... must be on the blu-ray - they should have kept it on the tv broadcast though - that's a killer track both sonically and visually - would have really impressed on the tv broadcast

I really hope they have a legit film with a few various segments for the different songs like they did for Oceans... and that whoosh sound now makes sense, lol - This album really benefits from a visual perspective and I can see why they really wanted to take the set on tour, but it was too cost prohibitive, Glad they could do this and keep part of their vision intact. I am dying to see O live, as well Ink - Midnight is amazing live, of course...

I was wondering if that was Apple - kept showing the little girl - she looks like him.. btw, loving the way they did Oceans for the film - i really hope this is a longer film with segments like this - rather than just a straight up film of the concert (which is good, but these really elevates the album with this type of direction and editing.
