  1. I think all in all you've basically hit the nail on the head there.
  2. Underwhelming????? .....Hahahah!!!
  3. The riff towards the end of the song???
  4. Wouldnt it actually make everybody feel better if people were positive? (even if it was no good which obviously isnt the case) I dont see how people can be so negative either, theyre really ruining it for everyone else. When i first heard it, i didnt think it was perfect, i dont, but i did (and still do) quite love it for what it is. I then looked on this forum and i couldnt get out of my head all of the stupid negative things some people have said. If you have to criticise, ever heard of constructive criticism? These people will only end up loving it anyway and theyll be eating their words soon, just wait for it.
  5. Nahh.. I think that they chose to have her on partly because they knew it would work and partly to challenge everyones perceptions of what a Coldplay song should sound like. Do people seriously think that they would do something like this without thinking it through? are you forgetting that theyve spent around 2 and a half years making this record?? Although it does seem a little strange we can only be positive and trust their judgement. and think about all of the other excellent songs that are going to be on the album.
  6. itll probably be like a call and response type of thing.
  7. ive thought about this too, trying to be mainstream?
  8. C'mon, that was in 2009 when they had barely recorded any of the fifth album. For musicians especially things change, not as quickly as they used too, but they still do. I too initially thought it would be as they said, but from their point of view, that was then and this is now. If they would have rushed an album like that out right after that last one it would have been a waste of time in the end for everyone.
  9. You're welcome, all im doing is speaking the words of sense and rationality. :)
  10. I dont think they will replace In My Place, but i think they probably should. Theyve actually been playing it in practically the same form for over 10 years now and despite what a great song it is, it does sound quite repetative when you listen to their shows or have been to see them 3 times or more. It would make sense to me to do it, for the rest of this year because then they could bring it back on tour next year, when ROBTTH has its tenth anniversary, and still keep things fresh.
  11. Thank you for actually making sense amongst all of these moaning idiots, i agree with you completely about their direction.
  12. If you truely think that this song is 'crappy', then i really cannot imagine first of all what your definition of a 'great' song is and second of all why you are even on this forum as a 'fan' of Coldplay at all.
  13. Bloody hell, why dont you all stop moaning like little brats and actually wait a little for the song to make a greater impression on you instead of saying things that dont even make sense? Yes, it does sound slightly more modern (not commercial, something that you can all too easily mistake today) than their other material, but thats a consequence of redeveloping their own sound. What'd you expect them to do? regurgitate what they have already done over the last 12 years?? GET REAL. Paradise in its own right is a masterpiece, and I think that the rest of the album will be even more of a true work of modern art. You go now and even listen to last few seconds of Paradise and try and i dare you to not feel as though you a being serenaded a lullaby by Chris Martin himself. Thats the beauty of this song, and (for those who say that they're changing in the wrong direction) moving people is what they have always been best at; something that they are evidently still doing now. (and dont even come back and deny it, because then youll really look like idiots)
  14. I could easily post words that show a hint of reservation about the song, but that would be ridiculous because the beauty of it overrules anything else so i agree with you, especially about the ending.
  15. I hope they dont ever invite her up on the stage to perform it....
  16. Still talking about MTM being on the new album??? You Americans are so slow. Seriously, 70 per cent of the people on this forum (who also happen to coincidentally be American) havent got a clue about where Coldplay are at at the moment. Ive been reading the pages of this forum for months on end and it just gets more hilarious every time. :P It really does.
  17. Its time to get over yourself now.
  18. Its a great closing statement. Get over yourself.
  19. This is really clear, it sounds like its from the itunes show, the backing track was quite high in the mix for that show.
  20. Well I never! do you really think so??? Is it not blindingly obvious???
  21. This has to be the most pointless and meaningless thread ever.
  22. Someone has to find a complete recording of this show, it was a real standout :o

  24. 10 times better atmosphere and performance.
