What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
They'll give it around a 5.5 purely because they don't like Coldplay. Pitchfork are very childish and it's a shame how some idiots get taken in by them. A lot of good bands have been put down by them purely because they're no indie enough. Ridiculous. Really the whole concept of a music review is stupid. Music means different things to different people so one reviewer's opinion means nothing. Also, we all know MX is going straight to No. 1 no matter what score Pitchfork gives it

I do not understand hurts like heaven will be in the album or not?
That wouldn't prove anything at all. Just because it's on the database it's doesn't mean it's on the album. There's songs on that database from years ago that have never been released. And just because the album is called Mylo Xyloto it doesn't mean there has to be a song on the album called Mylo Xyloto. There isn't a song called 'OK Computer', that's just the album name. Also, who says there is no MX without Hurts Like Heaven? They could easily replace Hurts Like Heaven with another song to go after MX.

Wedding Bells??
Both Chris and the Oracle have confirmed that it won't be on MX. We can only assume that it was incorporated into Christmas Lights.

Do you think 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will be on LP5?
As soon as Paradise was announced as the 'next' single from MX I think it was pretty much confirmed that ETIAW will be on MX. It's a terrible way to end the album though when songs like Charlie Brown and Major Minus have gone before it. If it is on the album I hope they close it with a different track.

I do not understand hurts like heaven will be in the album or not?
It MX really is a concept album then Hurts Like Heaven wouldn't be the perfect opening track at all. There's very little plot in the song and its lyrics seem a little bit 'forced' to me as if they're trying to make it fit on the album by mentioning graffiti etc. It doesn't really introduce the story/plot and to be honest I think musically it wouldn't fit anywhere else on the album. If it wasn't the first track it would hit you as a really random fast song in the middle of the album. Sort of like Month of May on The Suburbs by Arcade Fire. To me that was one the weakest points of the album. I love the song, but maybe it doesn't fit in with the plot of the album as much as we thought.

Will LP5 be Coldplay's last album?
They signed a deal with Universal so they'll definitely release some more music in some form. But judging from the interviews they'll really struggle to start LP6 so I think it will be a long wait before LP6 is released, possibly even 5 years or so after MX.

Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)
I don't think it will leak. As far as I can remember none of the Coldplay albums have leaked so far. A few demos were leaked from Viva but only one of the them was actually on the album in the end anyway and they're doing everything possible to prevent a leak. I remember R42 saying that even the band itself doesn't have access to the master tracks.

Coldplay: The Billboard Cover Story (and Chris Martin Q&A) - all pg.1
X&Y was far too long and the songs weren't great. It might have actually been bearable if the songs on it were decent. There's a few good ones ('Til Kingdom Come, Fix You) but the rest are just meh. Viva La Vida was a lot better because it was shorter and had better songs. I'm glad they're trying to do the same thing as Viva with MX.

Myloto Xyloto To Have 13 Tracks.
The billboard article said the album will probably have 10 songs but they'll finish 13 songs. The remaining 3 songs will probably be the b-sides.

Photoshop Experts
This is the best quality image we have: http://www.coldplay.com/uploads/mx1600.jpg You could cut half of that off in MS Paint quite simply and use it as a wallpaper.

What are your thoughts about their new single?
Yeah, it's interesting how music (and art in general) affects people in different ways. Some people hate ETIAW, some people love it. It's just one of those things.

LP5 Announced - Friday August 12th: MYLO XYLOTO (Join the Party!!!)
For the same reason the X is pronounced as a Z in Xylophone I suppose. Just a weird little thing in the English language.

Myloto Xyloto To Have 13 Tracks.
13 tracks or not, it's still 42 minutes long so we're getting the same amount of material as Viva.

Hey guys and gals! I made a complete remake of the MX cover in Photoshop!
All the more reason to like it.

Hey guys and gals! I made a complete remake of the MX cover in Photoshop!
Very good!

I'm bleeding from my face because I don't think this album title is very good.
Yep, we should definitely call it MX. Unless we find out that Mylo Xyloto actually means something really cool. Probably not though. Maybe one of the reasons they chose a name like Mylo Xyloto is because it means absolutely nothing to everybody no matter what language you speak. It puts everybody on the same level. Don't really like the name though.

Just What Does "Mylo Xyloto" Mean?
Both are correct depending on your accent.
-
What are your thoughts about their new single?
They mentioned how Chris sounded like a narrator in Paradise, so it'll tell of a story of some kind I reckon. Since it's a single though it might be an overproduced mess like ETIAW. I hope not, but for now I'm going to assume it is so there's no way I can be disappointed when it's released.

Have I found The Tracklist?
Not quite. They know the songs they're going to use but not the order.
-
Coldplay: The Billboard Cover Story (and Chris Martin Q&A) - all pg.1
Agreed. But I thought In Rainbows was fantastic.

Myloto Xyloto To Have 13 Tracks.
There's a lot of confusion about what Chris means when he says 'live.' We know that the band have been testing each of their songs 'live' at The Beehive to see if they translate well to a live environment so that's probably what he's referring to here. If he felt like an idiot playing Princess of China he would never have played it at that festival at all. We can only assume it was taken out of the setlist because of other reasons. Now recently Phil mention it in a tweet so it's still definitely being considered.

Myloto Xyloto To Have 13 Tracks.
Viva was about 42 minutes long and all of the songs on Viva were quite short. The longest 2 were Strawberry Swing and Violet Hill which were just over 4 minutes long. If it's the same this time round they could easily do 13 songs that fit into 42 minutes. Bear in mind that MX is probably included in the 13 songs that Chris mentioned and it's under 1 minute long. That leaves 12 songs in 41.5 minutes. That's easily achievable.
-
Have I found The Tracklist?
No. Moving To Mars probably won't make the cut and the band don't actually know the order of the songs just yet. They have a pretty firm idea which songs will be on there but they're unsure of the order so no tracklisting will be revealed yet. And we're assuming MX/Mylo Xyloto will open the album followed by Hurts Like Heaven.

Myloto Xyloto To Have 13 Tracks.
I think they'll release a few songs as B-sides rather than on an EP this time. From Viva we got 11 songs that didn't make the LP (although you could say that we only got 8 because 3 of them were just different versions of songs already on the LP) From X&Y we got 7 unreleased songs From A Rush of Blood we got 7 unreleased songs So whether we get an EP or not we'll still probably see about 7 songs that didn't make the cut like they've done for the other albums.

What do you think of cover artwork??
I think more thought was put into the other album covers, this looks like a bit of a mess. But the one thing that's true with all the album covers is that they sum up the music inside excellently. Parachutes is quite a dark and depressing album but throughout the songs there's always a sense that the light is still shining and everything will be ok in the end. The album cover shows this with the bright spinning globe surrounded by darkness. A Rush of Blood to the Head has a very simple design which represent the simple, minimalistic ideas in the songs. There's very few layers in the songs in the album. X&Y is quite colourful but still relatively simple. Again, the songs on the album match the cover. The songs are more diverse than on the previous albums but they still retain the simplistic elements from previous albums. Viva la Vida is basically just an existing painting that shows the French Revolution. The overall themes of the album (revolution, war, etc.) are shown quite clearly on the album. There's a lot going on in the painting, just as musically the album is quite complex. So if the past covers are anything to go by, the cover will probably be more appreciated after the songs on the album have been heard. This cover suggests that the music is diverse and complex. From what we've heard this is probably correct. Most of the interviewers that have heard the songs have commented on how the music 'doesn't stay in one place for long' and is always changing. So yeah, that's my take on it :) One thing I will say though is that I don't like how the title is written and overall I much prefer the alternative 'MX' cover.
