Doooo it. It's so much fun. I remember being here when ETiaW dropped and Midnight appeared. Those were two pretty polarizing songs but it was still a great experience. Other than the teasing leading up to a release, the day the first new song from an album drops is my favorite time on the forums :D Everyone should experience it once!

Dangit you've all convinced me to uninstall Hola also. Now how am I supposed to watch new Sherlock episodes a week before everyone else in America? :lol:

This is entirely off-topic, but Sparky your tagline and avatar go perfectly together and make me laugh :lol: More on-topic: Coldplay has been following a trend of having their more bombastic singles drop second. Viva was bigger than Violet Hill, Paradise bigger than ETiaW, and ASFoS bigger than Magic. So the question is . . . as loud and bombastic as AOAL is, are we going to get an even bigger song sometime between tomorrow and Dec. 4? I find that kind of hard to imagine, going off the 7-second snippet we've all heard :uhoh:

I believe the original poster (Saket, I think) said that there was a line in the song that is the opposite of the title of an X&Y song. So for instance the opposite of "White Shadows" would be "blacklight," meaning that the word "blacklight" appears somewhere in the lyrics of the new song. We just don't know what specific X&Y song it's the opposite of. Make sense?

Thank you! :nice: I'm usually not a fan of autotune, but in this case I think it actually works rather well. As long as the singers voice is nice and clear and crisp over the top of them, it should continue to work well in my opinion EDIT: Is anyone else getting a bit of a Muse vibe from that drop? Especially the sound of their last album?

Could be, although the southern hemisphere would be experiencing late spring/early summer in December, so I don't know if the guys would want to give away a hint that would only make sense to half of the world But I also think that could make a really pretty theme/title so I might just be looking for ways to make it into a song :P

That's very interesting! I love that the guys have included themselves in, uh . . . well whatever this is (album/single artwork, promo artwork, live LED display like the running man was, etc.) I wonder if that means each of the guys will have their "own" song of sorts?

no :P But seriously, in the middle of my most stressful week this semester, this is exactly what I needed. It has that perfect blend of pop and rock sound and that drop at the end sounds a lot heavier than anything Coldplay has ever done (maybe barring 1.36 and the live version of GPASUYF). It's happy, I could see someone dancing to it, but it still has a very Viva or MX-ish vibe to it that I love. I've been dreading that the guys were going to go full-on pop for this album for a long time, and Adventure of a Lifetime (or whatever this is called) is a great breath of fresh air for me in that respect. For the life of me I can't make out the lyrics. I hope they're just as good as the instrumentation :wacky: EDIT: It also reminds me of a Bombay Bicycle Club song whose name I can't quite think of...

It seems I'm one of the few people who liked the original minimalist design better. Never really been a fan of busy psychedelic imagery (plus the colors of the symbol in the center kinda clash with the border :lol: ), but it strangely is making me more excited for the album. I guessed AHFoD would be very heavy on the poppy sound, but this makes me rethink that assessment. Looking forward to our next teasers :awesome:

Ah, okay. Thank you! Seems this girl has a bit of a surrealist vibe in her works. It'll be interesting to see how that plays into the album if she is indeed the artist for it
