This. As basically the whole world knows at this point, I'm a huge Viva fangirl, and Lovers In Japan is what I consider to be one of Coldplay's best danceable poppy songs. It's got that bright, happy feel and yet it still has substance in its lyrics and instrumentation that makes it really interesting. I have actually danced (badly) to it in the past :P My vote is for either Blacklight, Break Me, or High. Also, oh please God no I am trying really hard to not fall into a pit of despair without having heard the song first. Don't let me down, Coldplay :bigcry:

Nothing against Chris, but if he's happy with it then that probably means it's very poppy and sugary. Especially with all these people talking about a beat drop

^ It could even wind up being the day they officially announce the album :shrug: I still say that their record company is going to want them to eliminate competing with Adele and have them drop the album early next year

:facepalm: I mean, I understand where they're coming from, but the design is based heavily on an actual spiritual symbol seen out in the real world. Seeing as you can only do so much with a bunch of interconnected circles, there's bound to be some overlap.

^ I believe so, yes. Ahhhhh this is my favorite time of the Coldplay album release cycle. And the great thing about being a Coldplay fan is that we have eyes literally all over the world to watch out for clues like this :wacky: I'm going to agree with a few other posters here and say that this might be the first "teaser" that is indicative of one song off the album (like how each song in the MX era got its own symbol). We'll have to wait and see what appears over the next couple of days/weeks, but I'm willing to bet there's going to be more reveals like this.

Oh geez I forgot about Star Wars in the excitement. December is going to be the greatest month of my existence :dead:

If this is really the album artwork and release date, I'm honestly surprised. I figured with Adele dropping her album the guys would want to push theirs back to make 100% sure their record was safe. But since that doesn't seem to be the case . . . FIGHT US IRL ADELE #7INAROW

That's what I'm thinking as well. We'll get the single in November or December to tide us over while Adele wrecks the charts, and then in the new year once things have calmed down, we'll get the full album. That's also smart from a marketing standpoint, as it gives AHFoD the full year to wrack up sales and nab Coldplay that record :dance:

I like "Name and Likeness" as a title. Too bad it seems to be an old song. ALSO I am FOREVER annoyed that Love in a Lethal Dose never made its respective album. Delving into ASCAP always makes me think of the potential brilliance that may never see the light of day :bigcry:

^^ See, I'm the opposite. To me, a "shuffle your feet" song evokes a very Paradise/ASFoS/ETiaW type of vibe. Something that would be played in a club populated by lots of drunk college students :P Whereas the rockier type of song that you're describing doesn't really fit that image.

^^^ To be fair, Coldplay could beat out U2 and Elton in today's world, or at least take a run at it. And if U2 is rumored to be dropping in December and Elton in February, that leaves a nice open slot in January for Coldplay to get AHFoD out.

We all just need to chill a little. There is no confirmation that the album is done, and there is no confirmation that the first single is done. Coldplay isn't at fault here; we are. We've all been frothing at the mouth since the beginning of summer expecting a single or an entire album to drop at any minute--at this point, there's no reason why either of those things should happen soon :P Granted, yes, the playing of Amazing Day and shooting of the "music video" in India are compelling points that could point to an imminent release, but they could also simply be the first legs of a process that aren't finished yet. Amazing Day performance - Just because it was played doesn't mean it relates to the album. It could be a song that was scrapped. The guys could intend to put it on AHFoD but were road-testing it to see what sort of atmosphere it generated in a live performance and may have decided to give it an overhaul. They also could have realized that we were going rabid complaining and anticipating that they were going to give us something new and played it just to throw us a bone. "Music video" shoot - Correct me if I'm wrong in this, but wasn't that video shot in conjunction with some sort of festival? If so, its timing could have nothing to do with when the album/first single is arriving. If it wasn't shot during a festival, it could just be that particular week was the only one that worked for all the guys and their team. We've sort of been treating it like any of Coldplay's other music videos shot in England, when really this one probably required a lot more planning and coordination which could entail any number of reasons why they chose the particular date to shoot it that they did. For me, the final nail in the coffin that we won't be getting the full album this year is Adele's release. Coldplay's record company is going to want their album to sell the best it possibly can, and if it's in competition with Adele's 25 then it would be able to do that. We may still get a single this year, but I think we should all set our sights for an early-2016 release at the earliest for the full album. I don't mean to be a downer in this post, but lots of posters are getting their hopes up week after week only to be disappointed, and that's leading to a lot of frustration. If we can all take a step back and remember that no one but the band and their inner circle truly know when the album is coming, I think it can save us all a lot of headaches :nice:

Okay Thalia you convinced me to listen to it and HOLY CRAP IT'S SO GOOD You guys made it sound so much more like Gravity, which is fantastic because it really gives it that emotional punch. Coldplay take note please :wacky:

That was my first thought as well. I'm not sure if that relates to AHFoD though . . . Although it does tie in with the whole Back to the Future thing since in the third film they travel back to the Old West. It may be a hint for the album or it may just be Rik being silly :P
