  1. Damn good album, and do agree that I wish I there wasn't so much production in some of the songs but it doesn't get much in the way of how good the songs are. They were aiming for a happy album and they nailed it!
  2. I don't care what anyone says, this album is damn good! MUCH better than Ghost Stories. The album, while lyrically not stronger than A Rush of Blood to the Head or Viva La Vida, it sure as hell is still beautiful and poetic. It's uplifting, heartful and just straight up pleasant to listen to. The only song I don't really like so far is probably Colour Spectrum, and the highlights which I'll add to my list of Coldplay classic is Birds (fantastic, caught me off guard), Everglow (sweet and simple), Fun (not groundbreaking, but it's sort of a mix of Oldplay and Newplay if you ask me) and Up and Up (That ending oomph!). I'm betting there's a lot of hate going around this album because it's Pop or whatever. Let's face it, Yellow? The song that started it all for them, is a pop song. I'm honestly happy Coldplay made Mylo Xyloto and A Head Full of Dreams, these two albums really pushed me to get out of my uptight mindset of how Pop is 'bad' music. It's ignorant. I use to listen to Songs About Jane by Maroon 5 and still do to this day, great album. Fun's albums, Aim & Ignite and Some Nights are both pop albums, well 'indie-pop', and they're both fantastic.
  3. I think it's being officially released at 12AM everywhere. Andrea25, you're from Italy right? Just after midnight right now?
  4. I am going to try my best to avoid it. I absolutely hated what the pre-Mylo Xyloto festivals did to my enjoyment of the album.
  5. I'm honestly really happy they're done with the idea of a concept album. While I enjoyed Mylo Xyloto, I feel like the story they tried to tell prevented them from using their stronger songs, and instead used songs that served the story instead of the overall quality of the album. With A Head Full of Dreams, it's looking like they truly free to do whatever they want with it.
  6. I don't care what anyone says, I find this song is damn solid. Groovy, different, makes me want to dance with huge crowds in concerts, it's a feel good song, which they hinted at throughout production I believe. Reminds me of Brandon Flowers' Desired Effect album. There's cheesiness but as always, since Yellow, Coldplay embraces it and makes it hit home, well for me anyway.
  7. Man this song is intense, I don't even want to stay put when listening to it. I can't help but jump around. Can't wait to hear it in concert! It sucks so many people dislike this song on the forums, ah well, whatya gonna do? All I know is that Ghost Stories will have a lot of variety and I'm welcoming all the different styles Coldplay has to offer with open arms.
  8. I really like this song, simple and beautiful. I don't think it's in the same league as Viva La Vida or Rush of the Blood to the head but sweet and great to listen to nonetheless. I can see why people may have a problem with the lyrics, they're rather simple but I find them in the same league as a song like Yellow. Simple, gets to the point and really more is about just being a soothing listen.

A plus one from me. I'm really liking the simplicity, though there is a lot jam packed in that bird aha. I may need to analyze it later tomorrow. Much too late right now over here!

Moderately like the first half but really love the second half starting at 2:30. Looking at Midnight and Magic (very different than each other), looks like the album will be very varied. I'm hoping they have a bit of jazz mixed in there somewhere! The album cover is pretty awesome, very soothing. It's looking like this album won't have very many grand tracks compared to previous ones.
  11. Length: My guess is it will be 42- 47 minutes. Most likely not over 50 minutes. Number of Tracks: 12 Time of Release: April or May Wardrobe: Formal wear Genre: Classical rock / pop
  12. That would be AWESOME!
  13. Definitely, Arcade Fire and U2 are perfect competition for Coldplay to boost up their game, especially since they influenced some of their music. I'm really hoping Coldplay blows this album out of the water.
  14. haha now I know how rumous are started, one comment on a forum :P
  15. I think it'd sound more raw which I'm definitely all for! While I loved how Mylo Xyloto was so over-produced, I think I'd also enjoy the complete opposite of that.
  16. You never know!
  17. I think it'd be awesome if Coldplay went in that direction for the next album but I feel like there'd be so many connections and ridiculous articles about Coldplay 'copying' the style of these guys, especially after the whole plagiarism fiasco with Viva La Vida. I'd personally love it nonetheless of course!
  18. Was listening to Green Day's American Idiot and really hope they do a rock opera album. I think it'd be somewhat similar to Viva La Vida but more so? aha
  19. I'd like surprises for the next album too, but I wouldn't necessarily want to know absolutely nothing until the album is released. I'd be more fine with little teases before the release to get everyone going crazy wondering what kind of stuff they're creating in the studio. Similar to how some movies are released, I remembered before all the batman films and the superman film about to be released, the studio gave people teases to tell you somewhat what the tone was but the story would never really be addressed. It'd be cool to use that method when releasing their next album.
  20. I don't think they'll be taking 5 years to recuperate, work on a new album or anything, the band looks like they're really fired up so I'm pretty much expecting the same 3 year gap and all.
  21. For top Duo/Group, I have to choose Fun. While I do agree the other bands, especially Coldplay, worked their butts off for each and every song off their album, Fun's sophomore album really stands out for me. For top touring artist I'm def picking Coldplay. In the end who knows, there's a lot of things that factor into the awards, like chrisnz said, most popular, the best...
  22. Exactly, fun's first album, Aim and Ignite is very pop i find, and have excellent lyrics. I love pop music but nowadays always come across pop songs that have great melody and all but kind of weak lyrics =/
  23. I didn't mind that Coldplay didn't win anything, as good as Mylo was, I'm happy the Black Keys won. Was also happy that Fun won with We Are Young but was kinda disappointed when Drake won best rap album, I really thought Nas should of won in that category.
  24. Very true, would be kinda boring if we got an album with only rock songs or only pop songs when you think about it.
  25. I really hope the album gets a couple of harder songs, heavy guitar riffs and all. Similar to 1:36 or somethin
