  1. Nonononono it couldn't be lost :( I'm going to organise everything next time if it really gets lost, but let's wait a bit more It took 3 months I think when I sent Taameen something from Croatia And 1 month when I sent Celien So there might still be hope :)
  2. Haha thanks :D I just hope that my partner shows up soon
  3. I like those :surprised: And omg your avatar on flickr is that photo I took :awesome:
  4. I'm listening to it at the moment, and honestly, I can't see why so many people are bashing it. It's not that bad. It's quite different from their other albums, but it's still interesting.
  5. That's awesome, Eddie :surprised: Especially the cover
  6. I'm late again, but here's my quite long review: The first thing that fell into my sight when I got the tape was that all of the tracks had written „John, Jane Doe“ in the artist spot. :surprised: I didn't know what that should mean, so I googled it and I found out that the names "John Doe" for males and "Jane Doe" for females are used as placeholder names for a party whose true identity is unknown or must be withheld in a legal action, case, or discussion. At least, that's what wikipedia says. I really liked this, my partner must be creative. All of the tracks also had an artwork, which was a pic of a radio, as well as some music notes, drawn in Paint and „A mixtape for Alien Radio“ written around it. I can't upload the artwork though, as I didn't get it as a special file. Now let's get onto the tracks: An acoustic intro, some aery ooh-oohs and a soft male voice singing „We are only two, but it's not hard to do“ in the chorus. Then the electric guitar enters with some cool riffs. There's also a scratchy violin, that I especially liked, a cool percussion/drums riff and maybe some aerophones/horns? Anyway, a really nice, pleasing and simple track, a good opener. I'm looking forward to know who this is. An instrumental one. Bluesy and jazzy guitar riffs, a synth and again interesting percussion, which definetely doesn't consist of only drums. The whole track feels like some modern jazz and I really like it because I've been getting more into jazz lately. :wacky: Acoustic guitar, male singer singing „Fallen angel, a broken arrow, she come for me and eased my trouble mind.“ It's actually quite upbeat and it feels very britpop and anthemic. I don't know what this is, but it's nice. Again an acoustic one. The lyrics are not in English, I don't understand them. I think it's French, but I'm not sure as I don't speak French. The mood of this one is very cheery and optimistic, judging by the melody, the clappings and tambourine or whatever that is. The song goes nowhere actually, the same cheery beats stay the same the whole 3 minutes. It might be a good song for the summer heats. This one features only a man, which sounds quite old and black, who is with his weary and crying voice singing over a simple acoustic guitar. I actually liked his voice. My favourite part was: „o-la-dum-ba-boom-ba-bum-bwrrrrrrwip-bi-ba-bum“ in the end. A female vocalist. I really really like her voice. Actually it sounds a bit familiar too me, but I still don't know who it is. The music is also more interesting than the previous acoustic guitar-only songs. There's some synth-generated sounds and acoustics too, I can't really define everything I hear. There are also claps in the second part of the song. It's quite upbeat. The only thing that I don't like in this one is the „fyyyoooo“ sound in the background during the chorus. I don't know what it is, but it's quite annoying. Ohh, this reminds me a lot of Beirut, who I love There's piano or synth, there's violin, maybe harmonica? Lol I suck at defining instruments. But it's very nice, especially the vocals, which consist of a male lead singer, and female and male back singers, might even be a choir. My favourite so far, I'm really looking forward to seeing who this is. This one's quite fast. Piano and a male singer repeating „Would you like to know how we could feel/should feel; I do, I do, I do“ - the lyrics are a bit cheesy. But the song in all is very interesting, especially the structure and the change of the fast and slow bits in the second part of the song. Soft, cute piano and A CREEPY GERMAN MAN singing something on German which I can only partly understand. He's actually not signing, but talking in this voice: Wow this is scary. D: But the piano-only music is really nice. Then in the middle of the song he starts actually singing, something about die Kinder but remaining in his scary tone. The end features him repeating Mein Herz brennt. I'm not sure how to feel about this one, but it's definetely scary. I'm scared to listen to this again  This one starts quite creepy too. The intro sounds like it could be from some war-themed movie. But then, guess who comes… A CREEPY GERMAN MAN. This one is luckily slightly less creepier than the previous one. The song is less than 2 minutes long and there's not much in it. Feels quite mystic. A church bell and monster noises in the background. D: This tape is starting to get a horror movie feel. D: This one luckily doesn't feature a creepy german man, F*CK YEA. The singer is repeating Run, boy, run!. They're trying to catch you. PLEASE LET THEM NOT BE THE CREEPY GERMAN MEN. At this point I don't know if I should really run or stay and review the tape. There's a lot of instruments here and the vocals are really nice too. More Run, boy, runs. Orchestral outro with lots of percussion. I actually really like this one and I'm interested to hear who this is. :surprised: A simple violin, which adds to the dark, horror mood of the previous songs. „I always wanted to become a good, good boy. Now I know, I know, I know I am not.“ That makes me think - maybe if I had ran before I'd be a better boy? I don't know, but now I'm definetely staying here, in the middle of the night, in a comfortable chair, in front of my computer, drinking tea, reviewing this tape which gets more and more interesting with every song, while the snow is burying my house outside and I'm waiting for the creepy German men to knock on my door. I really like how this one is just this poor boy and his violin. Who is he? :surprised: A nice change of mood after the previous tracks. Feels more happier and hopeful. A female singer whose voice is really interesting. It's at times too deep for a female singer, but at other times it's too high for a male singer. I love the piano riffs in this one. Wow, I didn't expect something like this. A punk-pop song? This reminds me of times when I used to listen to bands like Jimmy Eat World, Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Less Than Jake and others. If this was a 3 years younger me reviewing, I would love this, but the current me can't see any difference between this and other tracks of the same genre. But I must say that it flows really nice after the previous track. For a second I thought that it's a return to the acoutic guitar songs from the beginning of the tape. But this one is more experimental, I love it. Actually there's not much acoustic guitar, it's more just weird percussion, drum machines and blips and blops, weird pauses and time signatures and vocals which remind me of Gnarls Barkley a bit. It's very interesing. Might be even my favourite from the tape. :wacky: But I didn't like how it ended, the whole magic just stopped at once. And that was the end of the tape. At least the creepy German men still haven't knocked on my door. :sweatdrop: In the end, I must say that I enjoyed listening to this tape, it was really interesting, especially the second half. :wacky: I had a fun time reviewing it too, especially that creepy part. So, thanks for this tape, I'm definetely looking forward to hear who these artists are. Not every song was my cup of tea, but I still appreciate them. But those songs that were, I'll definetely come back to them a lot in the future. :nice: I can't wait to know who my partner is!
  7. Don't forget Sufjan!
  8. Used to have a lot of them, but now I have only one - Fiona Apple's new album poster
  9. Um, guys Anyway, I love both Brennisteinn and Kveikur Other EP songs are nice instrumentals too
  10. Zagreb, Croatia :) They once said that 2 of their 3 best concerts in their whole career were in Zagreb, so I hope that this one will be amazing too.
  11. Yesh, I'm looking forward to it. Brennistein is awesome. Also, they released a new ep :surprised:
  12. I love the cover.
  13. When the song started I really liked it but soon after I realised that it won't go anywhere. Yes, it's kinda boring, but it's not bad. I agree with the post above, I'm really happy that they're back. :)
  14. Yesss I can't wait for this one. I'm really glad that Lola (I Should Live in Salt) made it on the album. Loved that one. Also, I'll be finally seeing them this summer, after missing them two times in 2010 and 2011.
  15. I wanted to put that Lunar Phobia song on my mixtape for the mixtape exchange, but I left it in the end...
  16. Imagine this. You introduce your best male friend to your best female friend and a few days later they fall in love and go on a date and leave you alone. That means that I lost the only two real friends that I had. Someone please kill me.
  17. Guys, Radiohead consists of 4 other members who aren't Yorke. They might be recording while he's touring.
  18. Aren't Radiohead supposed to record in September?
  19. Phosphorescent - Muchacho. Beautiful.
  20. I'm still new to R&B, but I really like The 20/20. :surprised:
  21. I like The Next Day. But "Where Are We Now?" remains my favourite song, at least for now :p
  22. Oh, sorry guys, I somehow missed Out of Time too :blank: And I checked two times just to make sure that I hadn't missed it. :blank: But still, they could play Battery and Good Song, at least.
  23. I had problems with it too. Try sendspace.
  24. Why such a short setlist? Also no Think Tank songs :(
