edited lyrics Ooooooohh... Once upon a time somebody ran Somebody ran away singing as fast as they can: "I've got to go...I've got to go" Once upon a time we fell apart You're holding in your hands the two halves of my Heart Oh whoa-oh, oh whoa-oh. Once upon a time, we're burning bright. Then all we ever seem to do is fight. On and on... And on and on and on... Once upon a time on the same side. Once upon a time on the same side, in the same game. And why’d you have to go have to go and throw out all of my flame I could’ve been a Princess, You'd be a King Could’ve had a castle, and worn a ring But noooooo, you let me gooooooo I could’ve been a Princess, You'd be a king Could’ve had a castle, and worn a ring But noooooo, you let me gooooooo And stole my Star. la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la You stole my star la, lalala la laaaaaaaaaaa. [instrumental] Oooooooh-oh oh oooooooh oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhh Oooooooh-oh oh oooooooh oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhh Cause you really hurt me you really hurt me Cause you really hurt me you really hurt me Cause you really hurt me Ooooooooh you really hurt me Cause you really hurt me Ooooooooh you really hurt me
  4. The British rock band, “Coldplay”, has just completed a music video for their soon to be released international album, in the Western Cape. The Cape Film Commission says the band has filmed the video in- and- around the Mother City, as well as in the Little Karro between their recent Cape Town and Johannesburg concerts. Commission spokesperson, Denis Lillie says they prioritised filming of the video on local turf because of its’ potential effect in attracting future visitors to Cape Town. Provincial minister for economic development and tourism, Alan Winde, says the group’s shoot in the Western Cape will also give much needed boost of confidence to the local tourism sector. Coldplay’s new album “Mylo Xyloto” will be released toward the end of this month. Some other artists that have filmed music videos in Cape Town in the past include, Tina Turner, Blue, Westlife and Eros Ramazzotti.
  5. :) :) :) makes me so proud! i wonder if jhb gets their own blog too...
  6. the wave was actually really good, you just cant see it well in the video. maybe its one of those things that will only be properly experienced by those present. it was an awesome moment, and it left everyone with their mouths wide open in awe.
  7. a bunch of my mates just spent time with chris at a club in joburg called latinova. one friend of mine came down for the cape town concert too, he says cape town was far better, but he asked chris what he thought and he said joburg, maybe cos of the bigger stadium who knows?

  10. ok im finally ready to give my post-mortem from last night. ill keep this as simple as possible as its hard to properly describe such an experience that id been waiting for for over 10 years, it all seemed very surreal and still does. The Good: Coldplay! The band were flawless and completely up for it, they looked as it they were absolutely loving it, even guy who shows little emotion was smiling and really into it. The setlist was brilliant although shorter than a proper touring show. the whole acoustic set at the end of the catwalk was beautiful and i was very happily surprised to hear til kingdom come, so brilliant. The set up was awesome. The stage with catwalk was better than a b/c stage for me, and the fireworks from the stadium roof were very special. There were also the big balls and lots of beach balls, one of which i managed to take home with me :) Chris had a smile at the sign which i help up during violet hill which read, if you love me, wont you let me know, he acknowledged my bit of the crowd quite a lot and was very vocal and had a good few lyric changes. (come up to cape town, tell you im sorry, etc) The Bad: The crowd was the major disappointment for me. I managed to get pretty much front row, and it was quite lively there, but even there i struggled to get a viva chant going, and most people didnt know lyrics of even big songs. half way through the show i moved further back to the end of the catwalk to get a better view of the whole stage and fireworks which werent visible from front row, and the crowd were actually embarassing. no one knew lyrics, and many people just standing with folded arms. ive got to say though, for the big songs such as viva, scientist, yellow and a few others, the crowd were really good. The security guards were really pedantic, they wouldnt let me hang a banner over the railings because it was a "security hazard" which is a load of rubbish. The organisation was pretty poor. the admission process as well as transport arrangements which were terrible. From what i hear, some parts of the stadium got really bad sound, although it was perfect throughout for me. I got the attention of miller and hoppy, and asked them both for setlists, but they both said that theres absolutely nothing to give out, which i find hard to believe. Im sure theres so many things ive left out, but if theres anything anyone is interested in, then just ask and ill respond. Overall it was an incredible experience which i was privileged to attend. i can finally cross off the most important item on my bucket list, now i need to cross off the second most important item, seeing coldplay again :)

ok so ive decided to make 2 banners. ive bought bright green "glow in the dark paint" which turned out to be glow under uv light paint, and im going to use it to make the "we'll be glowing in the dark banner", so it will glow assuming theres some uv lights there. and the other banner i bought bright orange neon uv light paint, and i think ill make it say "the sun must set to rise". The banner is magenta coloured and looks really cool. ill upload some photos when theyre done, as well as the mx era inspired t shirt i made for the concert. What you think?
  12. will there be a b/c stage? the photo kind of looks like there might be...
  13. stage wise we got this so far: http://yfrog.com/ntpt1omj

Id like to know what you think i should put on the banner i will take to the stadium when i go see coldplay live next week. I would prefer something from the MX era, but if you think another lyric is more appropriate then say so.
  16. Going to the cape town show... :D
  17. thanks for the brilliant advice everyone. it seems that going to the bathroom while in the stadium can be quite difficult according to what ive heard. i will be going with a bunch of close mates, so hopefully that will make things a little easier in terms of keeping my spot. keep it coming!
  18. youve made me think twice about standing right in front, but my main concern with standing further back is that i am quite short, 5'7", and i do not want to have to look at the stage through peoples heads!
  19. OK, so I am going to my first Coldplay show ever in just under 2 weeks. Needless to say, I have been dreaming of this day for over a decade, and I want everything to be absolutely perfect! So I would like some advice from people who have been to Coldplay shows before on a few things. Take into account that there will be over 50 000 people at the concert. 1) Is it a given that front and centre is the best place to stand? 2) If not, what is? Otherwise, where else is good to stand within the golden circle area? 3) Do I need to camp overnight to ensure that i get front row and centre? 4) If not, how long in advance do I need to go to the stadium? 5) I would like to take sparklers with for me and my friends to light during the scientist. I was inspired to do this after watching the same thing happen at Rock am Ring earlier in the festival tour. Is this possible/a good idea? 6) Is there anyway to meet the band, or even to get a glimpse? Going to the airport, waiting outside the stadium, etc. How long do they usually arrive in the city before the start of the gig? 7) In your opinion, should I drink? Im scared that if i drink too much it will ruin the experience for me. This has happened at some sporting events before where i wish i didnt drink because i missed out on the "realness" per se. 8) Once the gates open, is it a sprint to the front of the standing area ala U2? 9) Lets say for example I camp overnight, or at least wake up early to go to the stadium, and the gates finally open, and I rush and manage to get to the front row. Now i really need the bathroom, but I'm scared that if I go, I will not be able to get back to the front. What is someone supposed to do in this situation? Do you get your friends to keep your place or something? 10) Same as question 9, except with regards to waiting in the line outside the stadium, should one take a marker with them to mark position in the line? 11) Should i make a banner? What should i put on it? Ive been thinking of lines, especially from MX era songs to put on it. suggestions welcome! I would greatly appreciate the answers to these questions, and any other advice that anyone with some coldplay live concert knowledge has to impart. Thank you!
