Moving To Mars: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Friday 24th June, 11.45am (BST)
Good morning to all the early birds up to listen to the new song! And hello everyone from Italy! Here it's 12.41 pm and I've already tuned in to Absolute Radio

Major Minus: Studio v Live?
I voted for the live version, which is unusual since I don't usually like live version, especially because Chris sometimes tends to change the vocals too much. But this time I prefer the song live because I prefer Chris' voice in its natural beauty. On the other hand, I think the music is veeery good in both versions.

Major Minus: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Thursday 23rd June, 9pm (BST)
Why, why ruining such a great voice like our Martin's one? :\ But the guitar is amazing, really.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
Thanks for making it clearer, I misunderstood. But again, even if they wanted to, there would be nothing wrong with it, right? It's their choice.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
Isn't this kind of labelling the band and placing restrictions on what they can do? Though also for me it's been difficult to accept ETIAW and its new sound, I think the guys should be free to write and play any song they want as long as they enjoy that song. If any of you write or sth, it should be easy to understand this point. And this do-what-you-enjoy should apply also to massively famous bands with a huge fan base, otherwise music becomes just another job that clears the mortgage, when it should be first of all a pleasure.

LP5: Johnny Buckland to shine
Indeed 'Green eyes, yeah the spotlight shines upon you' in the LP5! Big up for JonnyBoy

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
Well, actually, that's what he wrote the day ETIAW came out, linking the song: coldplay-new-single-out-today-featuring-my-strings;)... He's also defending HIS work then...

Do they care?

Do they care?
Totally agree on this one, they cannot question what they have done in years of work for the LP5 just for a first single that their fans don't like. And yet we're not sure it will be in the new album, so... Same in Italian, as far as I know in English it would be 'a storm in a teacup' or 'a tempest in a teapot'.

Major Minus
Yeah, exactly, Heineken Jammin Festival. Ehm sorry, I'm aware my knowledge of music is lacking sometimes :embarrassed: Anyway, I agree with you, it's just slightly similar.

Major Minus
Just read an article about the HJF, the journalist wrote that in Major Minus there's kind of a chorus inspired to 'Sympathy for the Devil' by the Rolling Stones. I honestly didn't know the song and gave a listen to it. I guess it's the uh-uuuuh that's similar...has anybody heard anything about this?

Does anybody know if there will be a live streaming for Pinkpop? The Rock am Ring one was amazing!

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
News from the band's Twitter: Just to be clear on ETIAW, I heard the opening chords in the film Biutiful, then got official permission to use them to make a new song. CM

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
Just came across this: Everyone seem to criticize Coldplay for their new single. I just think they are masters in turning a simple stupid sample in the most symphonic piece of music. I'm proud to be working with them. From Davide Rossi 's FB page.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
I agree with this, though I don't totally dislike the song. That said, what a real fan does in my opinion is trusting the guys, that does not mean welcoming whatever they release as if it was gold even when it's not that good, but thinking that if they wrote that song they had their reasons, be trying sth different, having a festival tune, or whatever, they had sth to express. I really can't understand those who question their skills in such a dramatic way for ONE song that they don't like, especially because the other new songs show the guys are still great.

Great / epic song :D!?
'This is a quiet song, so you can sleep if you want.' CM Hahaha no way, that's sooo good! The acoustic and intimate stuff we were waiting for. And I think that if the new album included both tracks like this and VLV-like ones, it would be the perfect LP5.

Hello guys! ^_^
Welcome fellow Italian!

Hello guys ;)
It's never too late to discover Coldplay ;) Welcome!

Charlie Brown Appreciation Thread
Totally agree, I think 'Charlie Brown' is the best new song I heard yesterday, also for the guitar riff in it. Now I recognise our guys!

Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
I've been listening to the song several times now and I'm trying to be objective, now that the enthusiasm for the new song is over. What I don't like at all about ETIAW is the first 30 seconds, when it sounds a mere dance thing, and the last ten seconds. I think that the stuff in between is not that bad, to be honest it reminds me a little bit of 'Lovers in Japan'. In the end, I rated the song 7. Still, I hope this was more a festival tune than the first bit of the new album. And I trust the guys, not for blind devotion or worship, but because I rate them great musicians.
