  1. some choice cuts from neon indian's new album. tell me these dont fit with adventure of a lifetime
  2. Neon Indian. his new album has a similar feel to AOAL. very danceable and 80s inspired
  3. let me just check you right there. both artists are mainstream and both artists have beautiful world-class voices. personally I'm happier with Beyoncé, and so you know Chris isn't picking artists with a business mentality; he's picking his friends and just doing what he feels
  4. yes but indie means "independent" Coldplay are the antithesis to independent
  5. it's not sad actually. they're only being themselves, so like I'm sorry that you can't enjoy new coldplay music because it can be a very uplifting force. and also throwing around the term "indie pop" do you even know what you're talking about?
  6. any idea where i could find the entire session they had with Nick Grimshaw?
  7. I really hoped Coldplay would eventually go in this direction. They've never been so groovy before! The lyrics aren't great, but who cares; I don't think Coldplay are worried about making art projects anymore. With Ghost Stories and now Adventure of a Lifetime, Chris seems very unfiltered, and it creates an intimate relationship between us and the band. Listening to new music from Coldplay now-a-days is like like running into an old friend and catching up on things. Last year Chris walked us through his emotional hardships, and now it seems he is having a major rebound. It's good to see him smiling again. It's quite a heavy thing-- to fall in love, only to find yourself alone. But being able to get back up and exclaim that you're ready to love again is a profoundly beautiful thing. And AOAL captures this feeling perfectly. Nothing is more therapeutic than getting down to this killer groove that Guy and Will have constructed. I mean... MY GOD, is this song gonna be so fun live or what?? Johnny's part is superb, as usual, and the vocal sampling gives the song enough differentiation so that its not too basic. Chris's melody is just OK in my opinion; he's capable of doing much better, but all-in-all a very solid track and a promising indication of where this album is heading. VERY EXCITED! [ 8 / 10 ]

every single freaking song title on this tracklist feels upbeat. i fuckin love it!! they're all so happy!
  9. haters and lovers of this song are both partially right. personally, i dont think the lyrics are great. and melodically it is alright. but the groove that guy and will put together is SICK. especially guy... wow. he's the highlight of AOAL for sure. I learned this after ETIAW and Paradise came out: your expectations for Chris Martin's lyrical output should be very low. This way it'll be a lot easier to not just accept, but fall in love with these tracks. seriously, stop expecting the world out of chris. he's a sucker for the stars and lights and heaven and love. embrace it.
  10. bruh, they've been mainstream since yellow debuted... and chris has never been a great lyricist. what's important here is that they are truly embracing who they are, and the result is pretty solid body music. This song is gonna be fun as fuck live... everyone just grooving together. and this is kinda uncharted territory for cp, because they really only have two levels for the most part: anthems and ballads. AOAL is just a really fun dance track-- a nice in-between. This song just affirms my excitement for AHFOD. I'm excited to have a cp album about believing in love and living a life of fulfillment
  11. it really shouldn't matter what else is going on in the music industry. just put out ur music when its ready smh
  12. im concerned. what exactly do you mean by bass drops? is it closest to ASFOS , the beginning of Paradise , or some Muse 2nd Law garbage ? are they getting all EDM-ish again ?
  13. oh goodness. so many fallacies... ugghh it hurts AROBTTH one of the greatest albums ever made. ur living in lala land
  14. omg what did u hear !
  15. oh lord. i cant
  16. i assumed as much. but really, im curious. tell me
  17. Please, tell me what albums you've been listening to over the past 3 months. I'm curious
  18. Maybe AROBTTH isn't as good as everyone here thinks it is. And no, on the contrary, reviewers CAN have biased opinions. In fact, its inherent that they have bias. Thats what makes it stimulating to read. Remember, we're in a coldplay fan forum. Of course, when you spend your time in an echo chamber where everyone is spewing praise for the same music, your perception of coldplay will be a little skewed. AROBTTH is special to me and coldplay will always have a place in my heart. But I've listened to A LOT of music since i joined this forum and really tried to expand my horizons. Coming back to Coldplay... it does feel simple-- boring, even. But I don't care; sometimes it really works out in Coldplay's favor. Coldplay is like comfort food.
  19. You're mostly right but they definitely don't shy away from giving high scores to pop albums.
  20. they're from pitchfork. probably the most credible music site out there. also you're wrong
  21. I rank them like this btw 1 -- VIVA 2 -- MX 3 -- Parachutes 4 -- AROBTTH 5 -- GS 6 -- X&Y and i assume LP7 will settle b/w AROBTTH and GS, but i hope i'll be surprised
