  1. AIMH destroys Life in Technicolor.
  2. I actually quite like the album in its entirety, except for Ink. I don't really mind the synths or the electric drums, although I'd prefer a regular set of drums.
  3. ahahaha. This has just ruined the song for good.
  4. You don't act your age. lol.
  5. You'll find no argument from me. I thinks this album is great though. I hope they announce a big tour soon though, would love to see it live.
  6. Beginning to think True Love is a pretty badass song. Wasn't sure about Jonny's guitar at the end, but it's growing on me. Ink doesn't do much for me. I always seem to zone out during it.
  7. I am mystified by the love affair Viva La Vida gets around here, and I am totally prepared to be roasted for making that statement. Can somebody explain to me why Coldplayers consider that album to be so amazing? In my opinion it has a few decent songs, but I don't find that album to be particularly outstanding at all.
  8. Meh, we all had to figure out who was who at some point right?
  9. It kind of bums me out that Sparky took out the entire Ghost Stories Leak thread. That was an epic thread, the board will be lesser because of it, though I understand it probably lagged the board. Just a bummer. Forums are awesome because of the history on them.
  10. The Random posting thread is the best thread on coldplaying. This is where the cool kids hang.
  11. I love Always In My Head. Love it.
  12. It's just, different if you will haha. One of the trademarks of Coldplay songs is the harmony that's in them musically, and that's definitely a different path. I really like the song though, just that guitar part definitely jumps out at me.
  13. I'm trying to figure out the dissonance in Jonny's guitar solo on True Love. I wonder why they went that route? I am not sure how I feel about it. It's like nails on a chalkboard.
  14. This is what happens when artists truly believe in what they make, and they put their hearts into it -- you get fans that truly connect with the music and truly love it. This is how music impacts lives. Thank you Coldplay, and thank you OP. Your words are excellent.
  15. 1. A Rush of Blood to the Head 2. X&Y 3. Parachutes 4. Viva La Vida 5. MX I won't rank GS yet.
  16. I love the tone of Chris's singing in AA, and I love the chords, I think they're beautiful. The lyrics are a bit blatant, but that's ok in my opinion, I get what he's saying and I appreciate it.
  17. 1. Always In My Head 2. Another's Arms 3. ASFOS 4. True Love 5. O 6. Midnight 7. Ink 8. Magic 9. Oceans *Subject to change.
  18. we agree on the bottom 3 for sure.
  19. True Love is pretty amazing, not sure I like Ink too incredibly much. AIMH is fucking amazing.
  20. I think I learned it from synthesia midi tuts the first time around for a rough feel of chords and melody. I'll try and find it later on when I am off work, and I'll link it.
  21. Nah, I wish I could play completely by ear, that's an amazing gift I wish that I had. I've been lucky to use my ear to pick up pieces here and there. I've gotten much better at picking up notes, and knowing whether or not I am playing something correctly, sometimes I just can't seem to correct it after knowing I am off with a certain note or chord. Can be frustrating. I also look at general chords for the song and feel my way around it, sometimes at tuts. I've thought about learning sheet music, but I just haven't wanted to take the time to do it haha. Life in Technicolor ii isn't too hard to learn.
  22. It depends on the song. I like to also sing, I am not overly good at singing, but there are a few songs I am not bad with. The Scientist -- I just play it normally, with a little bit of improvisation and sing to that song. Clocks - I play the piano part and melody, otherwise it would be a very boring piano piece. Fix You - Piano / and melody when it gets to "Tears Stream.." Politik - Piano / Melody / sing Yellow - Piano / sing Life in Technicolor ii - Piano / Melody / sing etc just depends on the song, how simplistic it is, how well I sing it -- etc. If it's overly simplistic and would make for a dull piano piece on its own, I try to incorporate the melody into it, especially if I can't sing it at least somewhat decently by my own standards.
  23. Ah, I started really late. I decided to take the plunge when I was 17 or 18, can't exactly remember which. I am 23 now and have made a lot of progress, but still one of those things I wish I did when I was much younger. Started out on a $200 keyboard that had like 64 keys or something like that, switched around here and there with other digital pianos and then an acoustic, but last July finally bought a Yamaha NU1, which has been incredible. It cost me more than I am willing to publicly state lol, but it's something I haven't regretted at all. It's definitely my passion in life.
