I seriously envy the folks who learn French. I've been wanting to start studying it since three years ago but there are always some reasons why I'd better not - It will take too much time, it's difficult to pronounce, perhaps I'm too old to notice and acquire nuances the way children can... Gawd, I'm so miserable. :bigcry:

Yes, many fathers days have come and gone for me, and every year I happen to be reminded of it on the exact same day, in one way or another. Why, how bizarre is that, don't you think?

I've never met my father. He left my mother shortly after I was born and she never really cared to explain why and who was he, what's his name. He must have hurt her or something to make her unwilling to talk to me about him. But I never in my life asked her about him, either. I'm happy with my stepfather and my siblings, I have a normal, fulfilled life I'm satisfied with. This thread made me imagine what would it be like to ask my mother about him and to meet him, whether it is worth our while doing it, undigging the past.

That you can form strong opinions about people even though you don't know who they really are. Like posters here.
