^If you're ever in Philly you should not only get a cheese steak but you should also get a pretzel. I know it's a simple thing, but Philly pretzels are quite possibly the greatest in the world.:P

I just had Shawarma and it's awesome. It's like the Lebanese equivilant of a Philly cheese steak. Definitely lives up to the avengers spawned hype. :insert non existent "yum" smiley here:

Here's the Tommy trailer. It's got some weird stuff in it but it doesn't do the trippiness of this film justice... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9WGIYjxzVU]Tommy - The Who - Film Trailer - YouTube[/ame]

yeah we're talking about people wearing beans now. No it's cool. It's my fault. I stink at constructing paragraphs. I could see how you could think that:\

Yeah that's what I meant. On both sides, science or religion, someone will find a way to use it for bad. I think that's core of evil in this world. People are always looking for a way to destroy. Science has helped us so much, it's definitly not all bad, only when abused.

It's really weird. There's a part where this lady covers herself in baked beans.

Off the subject of religion, has anyone here seen The Who's Tommy movie. I'm rewatching a bit of it right now. That's one crazy movie I'll tell you what.

Also, it sounds like I'm hating on scientists. I'm not (I actually I'm related to a few scientists). I think science helps people, but I, personally, wouldn't base my life around it. Some will though and that's fine, as long as it's not taken to far (like a dystonpian post apocalyptic world or something. I don't know)

I could say the same about science though. Many of the bases of science are unproven. I also hate people forcing science down my throat, so it's not just religious people attacking you, antheists often attack religious people. As for war, science is a new medium, but look how much war it has caused already. The nuclear age, the cold war, all because of science. In other words, people start wars, not religions. People often use religion to hide war, but the same is done with science. Hitler came up with some bogus science to convince people to kill jews. All these holy wars are the same. Kings, Presidents, what have you, they often manipulate religion, but it can happen with science too. It's a two sided coin. Some people are a little extreme on both sides, and you just can't generalize. Also if you ask most religios people why don't steal their not gonna say "cause hell", they're going to say because it's wrong. We have the same gut feelings about what is right and wrong as you.

It's pretty difficult to explain, at least for me. If I didn't have it I'd feel like I'd kind of feel like I have nothing. Obviously, a lot of people live with out any kind of beliefs, but I just couldn't live that way; maybe it's just the way I tick. I'd have nothing to fall back on. It gives me a sort of community where I'm always welcome. But it's more than that. It makes sense to me. Everything fits and when I go to church/pray whatever I feel better, kind of more "clean" if that makes any sense. It takes a load of my mind knowing I have someone I can talk to. I think people of all religions get some sort of vibe like that. It seems alot of people, especially today are looking for anwsers. I feel like I don't really need anwsers if what I'm doing feels right to me. I don't feel like I need to be able to explain the origins of the universe or whatever. Sometimes things happen we don't understand, and I can deal with that. I think that's a key to being religious. You need to know going in that there are different plains of conciousness and some of them aren't meant to be understood. I'm sure it's different for each person though.

Crests of Daylight/Glacial Fox/Crests, Foaming at the Mouth
Now that I'm thinking back, a few years ago we had a Muslim kid in my class so we learned, in more detail, about Islam. It was actually really interesting (especially since I'm a big Crusades guy). If that student hadn't been there we probably wouldn't have learned it, which just doean't make any sense to me. But whatever. I feel, on a religious level, that there are many roads people can take to God (or some sort of entity/power). Each person might find a different road to be a more direct route, but in the end, they all end up in the same place.

^That's actually pretty interesting. If someone brings it up I guess the school would have to comply huh?

Beady Eye
Do we know if Jeff Wootton was there? I've heard a few rumors that he'd left the group.

Everyone's gonna get on my case but all this science stuff (evolution, big bang, etc) doesn't do it for me. I mean, they teach it at our school but it's all just theories anyways, so I don't know why school counts the big bang as "legit" and all religious theories are not allowed in school. Maybe it's just in America but I don't know. I think people should be able to believe what ever they want. If you dig those theories that's alright, but the way they teach it in school kind of tries discredit other ideas..... I don't want to get into a debate either (or offend anyone who's a scientist/educator or anything), I'm just sayin' how I feel about that.....

The Troll Thread (Anniversary Edition)
I didn't mean it like that. I just never know where people here these words. People I know just use the same 3 curse words to describe everything and then I go online and it's like it's got it's own dictionary. It's probally true you heard it from a mobster film:lol:
