Tumblr can be the most positive place on the internet sometimes. People turn their passions into dazzling artwork, or things to make others smile. It's so much more creative than Twitter and so much eye-opening than Facebook. Course, it's not always like that, but if you follow the right people and have the right attitude, it can be a lovely place full of lovely people.

Don't get me wrong, Reilly was an intelligent, funny and straight-talking person who I had a lot of respect for, for just being like that. The fact that I didn't get on with him though, I really did see that as my problem. Not his. I mean no one else that problem. As you say, he was popular, and that made any problem I had with him my problem and not the forum's. That's the way I saw it anyway. He was nasty to me, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't respect him and view him as a valued and often brilliant member of this forum.

I'm saying that it's very easy to say that he was joking or that we all know what he's like, but he could've really upset someone. I didn't handle things well when he upset me, but it still happened. And I've not been a particularly nice person on this forum.

He really laid into me once, made me feel really small. I was really upset about it and didn't come back here for a month or so. I've only just come back today since being away a few months, and it was an argument with him that I left on. It wasn't that he'd offended me that time, I just realised that I wasn't particularly liked on here (my own badly-worded fault) and that Reilly was popular, so what's the point of staying somewhere to start fights? I must've reported him countless times because I hated the way he spoke to people. I got really depressed about it sometimes. If I remember rightly, Anthony left because of something he said too (remember him, the poet guy?). But what I'm trying to say is, whilst I've not exactly got on well with a lot of you, and whilst I've been insensitive and unstructured with some of the things I've said, all I'm trying to say is, he really upset me once. Maybe he really upset someone else. You can't give offence, you can only take it.

There was a story a while back about the possibility of Noel and Chris recording something... it was after the Brits, I think I heard the story. So I don't know whether it'll ever come to fruition, but I'd love it to. They're both similar musicians, but Noel I think would coax a bit more Violet Hill from the band. Which let's face it is pretty much a good thing.
  7. Aww, guys. I guess I don't have much time anymore :\ It's either spent working full-time, writing articles like this, Tumbling or with my much-suffering girlfriend. But thanks, I'll make sure to come and post some stuff when I can :D
  8. I don't use this forum anymore, but I actually wrote this article. I came on to see if anyone had shared it - as I remember a similar article was shared once before - and I just wanted to say thank you to Tash for sharing it, and thanks to you for reading. And to confirm, yes, I once caught Guy Berryman putting bread in my toaster and eagerly eyeing up my kitten.
  9. Since we're going that way, the most depressing moment of my life was when, in two weeks, I was in a car crash, my girlfriend slept with someone else, my nan died, my band split up and I got diagnosed with depression. There we go. So you're arguing with me about something you personally don't take offence to, and somehow you're surprised with my suggestion that you enjoy correcting people? I'm presuming that you're taking offence at my insinuation of your sexual devience, but all I really have to say is that I don't care, as you've been rude enough to me in the past that I've felt like shit, so hard cheese. Whilst I'm at it, I don't remember claiming to be funny or asking the members of this forum to indulge in what you so clearly believe to be my sick sense of humour; I was merely starting what I thought to be a bleak but light-hearted thread where people would post about sitting through an episode of Jeremy Kyle and feeling like it was the heart of the abyss, or as someone's already said, going to a cheap restaurant on their own. I think it's clear that I didn't mean to cause any offence, and I think the bumbling way with which I write on the internet isn't your mess to aggressively clear up, which explains in some part the "reading between the lines" comment. So I'm going to be an adult now, something that pains me to do, and not post in this forum for a while as not to offend you or anyone else.
  10. Yes Reilly, I do see that. Now your question: are you incapable of reading between lines or do you pick apart inarticulacy because you get some kind of perverse enjoyment from it?
  11. Sorry, is it just me or was it not obvious that this thread wasn't serious? And has it ever occurred to you that there's more to someone than what they write? The idea of the thread wasn't to start something where we all went on about the ridiculously terrible things that have happened to us, it was more "Oh god what I am doing?" sort of experiences. I'm sorry that wasn't obvious from the title, but I was hoping that anyone who then read the comment about the hash browns would realise that it wasn't serious. Because, you know, no one really does count a meal at night as the worst thing in their life. Do I really need to apologise or leave a disclaimer, or can we all just read between the lines? Sorry, I didn't want to start a more serious thread. And no, sorry, I do not rank eating hash browns out of a bowl among the worst experiences of your life.
  12. Thought I'd start a cheery thread. I'm not sure what mine is but I'm currently eating hash browns out of a bowl with a spoon at one in the morning. So that's up there.
  13. I haven't actually posted in this thread but I thought that interview was great.
  14. I think Hurt's a separate Doctor. I wonder though how old you have to be to age as a Timelord. Eleven's had his body for 300 years and I'm receding more than he is.
  15. I'll try clear everything up as best as I can!

Don't feel like that. I've felt like that before, but frankly you've got as much right to be on these boards as anyone else, Anthony.

Here's a question to throw open to everyone: What are your favourite album openers and what do you hope they go for on LP6? a) Don't Panic/Life in Technicolor: short, gentle, standalone song to introduce the sound of the record. b) Politik/Square One: big, loud, epic introduction. c) Mylo Xyloto: Tiny instrumental that segues into the second track. If you pick ©, what kind of song would you like to follow? Personally, I hope we get a Politik. I don't care for any of the "intro" type pieces that Coldplay do.

What kind of announcement could there possibly be for a record they've just started?

I know people are saying that another drastic change would be welcome, but I think they've always made drastic changes; even on X&Y, it was in scale and size more than actual sound. I want this album to be as colourful as MX but not as garish. As I said, orchestral pieces would be nice, as would some lovely guitar tones. Synths aren't the only way to create colour. You only have to look at something like this to realise that. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljzehPvr9zk]Tame Impala - Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - YouTube[/ame] (If you've never heard this song, I urge you to play it now. It's just bliss.)

I really hope they use a few more orchestral ideas on this record. I'm not looking for a Muse-like symphony, but if you look at Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid, it manages to incorporate strings into a rock band setup really well. It would certainly suit them, and whilst I love Davide Rossi, I hope they go to a full orchestra for a track. It would be lovely.
