  1. I think it's because of Now! 81 releasing in the UK this week. The album has the radio edit of Paradise on it. Perhaps people buying this version (not sure why, you can get the full version from the album for the same price) counted towards the total sales for Paradise?
  2. Oh my word, Paradise has leapfrogged CB :o Strange, considering that CB is currently 26th in the iTunes chart, and Paradise is 45th. Must be some sales happening on other websites, or physical copies are being pushed, which is probably unlikely since I HAVEN'T SEEN ONE MYSELF. MX has crashed to 14th in the album charts as well, but having been in the chart for 24 weeks already, I guess this is great :D
  3. I think this thread has officially been hijacked :p
  4. Maybe... but they made their own decision, and it paid off for them. Paradise is their biggest single yet. Perhaps they'll promote it more during the summer tour. Everyone calls it a summer anthem, so why not? Although I have a feeling that may not work due to the release of the video, as well as it charting now.
  5. CHART UPDATE (28/3) - CB remains at #26. Paradise goes down 1 to #38. The third singles from Coldplay albums don't tend to be promoted much, probably because EMI/Parlophone believe that everyone who wanted to hear the single would have got the album already. Paradise did so well because it was the song that was promoting the album. If CB took its place, I'm sure it would have been a big hit. On the plus side, at least CB is doing better in the charts than Lost/Lovers in Japan did back in the Viva era :D
  6. I use Charlie Brown as my ringtone. I'm a bad person. And I'm stupid for having a song I like as my ringtone. Surely I must see the error of my ways. /sarcasm
  7. CHART UPDATE (21/3) - Charlie Brown has fallen to #25. And Paradise is nowhere to be found (no pun intended).
  8. *facepalm* NME will never understand.
  9. If it gets into the top 20 next week, I'll be satisfied. Of course, I would like it to be number 1, but that's unlikely to happen :/
  10. CB is doing well in the UK iTunes chart as well. It's currently 16th. It's been going up the chart all this week, so who knows where it will end up. Paradise is currently 37th
  11. In my opinion, the wand provides light after the lights dim down for UATW. ETIAW is meant to be a positive song, so I feel the wand in MMIX represents the atmosphere being lit up again... and then "Ritmo de la Noche" kicks in :p
  12. Hmm... I never hear CB on the radio here. Perhaps I just need to listen to the radio more. But there's so much crap on the radio these days that I'm really not encouraged to do so.
  13. The Brits definitely helped with the song charting this week. Hopefully, it will climb up next week. Will definitely be checking the iTunes chart as a basis all next week.
  14. If that happens, I would just die from all the win it would produce :)
  15. Which group would I be in then? I absolutely love Coldplay's music pre-MX (The Scientist is still my all-time favourite song), but I still love their new stuff (Charlie Brown is my second favourite song from the band), and I think the video for Charlie Brown was great. Am I an anomaly? Because if I am, then that will suit me just fine :) (And no, I'm not obsessed with Coldplay. The only song I truly like from X&Y is Fix You, and I find most of the songs on Parachutes to be too dull for my tastes, even if I love Don't Panic, Yellow and Trouble.)
  16. Well, I finally got around to watching the video, and, to be honest, I quite liked it. It's definitely different from previous videos, which is nice, and seeing the party atmosphere, as well as the Xylobands, definitely fit in with the songs' tempo and general upbeat mood. The only downside I have is what most people are complaining about on here: TOO MUCH KISSING! Yes, I get that the song is one part of a love story, but do we really need that much lip-on-lip action? A bit unnecessary, in my opinion. But, that's a minor quibble. I definitely wouldn't mind watching it again, and, although it's not as good as the Paradise video, it's definitely another solid addition to the video list. EDIT: Oh yeah, I gave it a 9 overall :)
  17. LOL :D That's a keeper. Gotta wait until 5pm before I can go home and watch the video (stupid college and their blocking systems), but it seems like I'm not missing out on much, and the video sounds like it's one big drug trip. So yeah, can't wait to get high off this video :D
  18. Yep! The video is very nearly here! Anyone else getting excited?
  19. That could happen. Back in the Rush of Blood era, Coldplay released "Clocks" as the second single in the US instead of "The Scientist" as they thought that The Scientist wouldn't appeal to the US market. The same could happen for CB and PoC.
  20. I wonder why the background for Up With The Birds contains lyrics from Moving to Mars... These look really nice though, so thanks for the upload! :D
  21. A Message Twisted Logic Til Kingdom Come Swallowed In The Sea Amsterdam Cemeteries of London Rainy Day Gravity (Yes, I know it was given to Embrace, but Coldplay's version is, in my opinion, the best one, even if I do like Embrace's version)
  22. Round 1: Mylo Xyloto (If it was LiT ii, then it would be a different story) Round 2: Hurts Like Heaven (If I answered this when the album released...) Round 3: Cemeteries Of London Round 4: Violet Hill Round 5: Viva La Vida & Charlie Brown (Tie. I hate you for having to make me choose...) Round 6: Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall Round 7: Lost! & Princess Of China (I actually like Lost a lot. So it's another tie.) Round 8: 42 Round 9: Us Against The World Round 10: Reign Of Love Round 11: Don't Let It Break Your Heart Round 12: The Escapist Final Round: Death And All His Friends (Only just, though.) TOTAL SCORES: Viva: 8 MX: 7 Viva wins... BUT ONLY JUST.
  23. It hasn't even been released as a single, and it's number 33 in the Official UK Top 40. I can't imagine where it'd be if it's ever released.
  24. Hopefully they play DLIBYH after Charlie Brown... or during the encore... EDIT: Well, assuming that Charlie Brown is on the list... but it can't not be. That would be heartbreaking (excuse the pun).
