  3. This talk of the Beatles reminded me of a cute story... when I was visiting my brother the other day, we were having dinner and my 2-year-old niece (who has just started to talk properly) was asking loads of questions (as they do at that age). She picked up a place mat which had a picture of John, Paul, George and Ringo on it and asked "Who are those boys?" and my mum started explaining to her about The Beatles. I doubt she understood much of it, but at least there's some hope that a child will grow up knowing who The Beatles were. :)
  4. My good personal friend the Martin told me that up with the bird is his favorite song off the mylo of xylophone album. I will tell him that you said these things about his band the cold game! And you will be banished!
  5. I think most Coldplay songs do have a decent bassline, but I agree that in a lot of cases the studio versions are mixed so that you basically can't hear the bass unless you deliberately listen out for it. However, when they play live it's a different story I think. I didn't even notice the bassline of Yellow for example until I heard a live version. Even Paradise has a great bassline in my opinion, and so do many of the songs on X&Y. I guess more subtle basslines are just Guy's style. I mean, as much as I would love to hear a Coldplay song with a bassline as epic as [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dm_5qWWDV8&ob=av2n]this[/ame], I know it's never going to happen so I'm content with a more subtly awesome one like [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUAKXzkpv_c]this[/ame]. :D
  6. 1. Politik - Coldplay 2. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen 3. Last Of The Big Time Drinkers - Stereophonics 4. Caravan Holiday - Stereophonics 5. Vertigo - U2 6. Pickup Truck - Kings Of Leon 7. Airbag - Radiohead 8. Watch Them Fly Sundays - Stereophonics 9. I'm Not Calling You A Liar - Florence + The Machine 10. Fix You (Live in Toronto) - Coldplay
  7. The bassline in that song is just amazing... not to mention the Edge solo :dead: and you can't spell the word badass without bass.
  8. What about Moving to Mars?
  9. I think he meant he listens to it so that he knows what other music people listen to these days. Not necessarily to get inspiration from them, but to judge who their competition is, so to speak. Or at least I hope that's the case :uhoh: I remember there being a similar situation last year when Chris said something similar about Justin Bieber. I just really hope LP6 doesn't end up with some sort of collab with JB or Skrillex...
  10. Yeah, watch it anyway. Chris is pretty funny in it :D
  11. I would take part in this, it seems like a really cool idea! I've always found it hilarious watching people screw up their Sims' lives :laugh3:
  12. The only other songs it could be are Lost! and Viva. It could be the second half of Fix You, but surely he would have been wearing a pink shirt during that too  edit: or GPASUYF as it turns out! Didn't even think of that one :P
  13. ^ You should save a couple of slices though, just in case... ;)
  14. I know they've forbidden their songs being used to advertise specific products (Gatorade, Diet Coke and Gap for example) but I think the rules are different when it comes to trailers and commercials for other things. Several of their songs have been used in TV shows and movies, and I know I've heard them on adverts for TV shows. If they needed to ask the band's permission to use those songs then I doubt they would have been able to use them.
  15. I started with The Bends, which is quite an old album of theirs so I don't think it really represents what their music is like now (It is still a great album though). OK Computer is a good place to start because it probably has a couple of songs you might recognise (maybe No Surprises or Karma Police) as well as some really classic songs :D Apparently In Rainbows is also a good album, but I haven't got round to listening to that yet. That might be a good start if you want to hear some of their more recent stuff.
  16. He doesn't have a guitar on him, so my guess would be In My Place or ETIAW :)
  17. Speaking of funny Muse videos, has anyone seen this? It's a pretty hilarious parody :laugh3: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y55gBPKxQYo&feature=relmfu]Muse Shreds - Their worst performance - YouTube[/ame]
  18. That's not the full show I don't think... I watched that same video a while ago and there were a few songs missing. :\

There is actually an image of the planned setlist for Glastonbury 2011 (written back in 2010) included in the MX tour program. It shows that they were planning on playing Amsterdam as well as a few other surprises. You can see the image in this thread, with Amsterdam being just underneath Trouble. I still can't stop thinking what an awesome setlist that would have been :bomb:
  20. 42 61 Clocks 65 Daylight 61 Death and All His Friends 55 Don't Panic 18 Politik 63 Shiver 67 Violet Hill 62
  21. I think the 'Frankfurt Song' will probably be played live at some point, whatever that song may be. Roadie 42 said it wouldn't be on the setlist any time soon, which suggests to me that they will play it, but later on in the tour. We still haven't heard UFO, DLIBYH or UWTB live yet, so I would rather they play those than a new song honestly. Once they've played those, then they can start adding new songs to the setlist.
  22. You just wait, Muse's LP6 will turn out to be called something equally bizarre and you will go around proclaiming it as genius! :P
  23. I know I dreamed of Coldplay a few nights ago, and I remember thinking: This is so awesome, I can't wait to tell all the guys on Coldplaying about this... but when I woke up I had completely forgotten it :(
