I do hope so. Upon the first listen I am feeling Johnny deprived! There are so many unique layers of sounds perhaps I need to listen more closely and I will hear that he is still there. Chris said this is the second album that was 100% what they wanted unlike x&y which he said was 60% and VLV was only 80%. Surprised at that really. Amsterdam is still at the top of my list of Coldplay faves. Gets me every time. I don't hear anything on GS that will be added to my list of top five unfortunately. I hope that will change... I honestly have no idea how I feel about the album. I am do sad there wasn't more Johnny. I feel like we got tiny snippets here and here but nothing that makes the blood rush to my head and warm my heart like listening to their older music. It is darker, yes. I have to really really listen to it. I am grateful the feature video is excellent quality. Going to give it a week and see how I feel. Wondering what the release in six months will look like based on Chris' comments about the Target songs...made me think we were getting a reprise featuring some of his son's contributions. Just watched the Zane bbc interview. Really enjoyed it. Chris said the target songs won't come out for six months. If he just did the interview recently that means we have to wait I guess! Also the interview made me love the album before I've heard if just based on seeing Chris himself. Love when he is vulnerable. I hope they do end up back together after he works his shit out. I know he's for OCD and other issues with sleep etc. I hope he finds peace and his way back to his soul mate. I think that's what she is. Sounds like O will be my favourite song. Its so hard to judge the final product until we have heard it all as an album. I found I judged mx quickly and then began to love it. There are only three songs I hate from coldplay. I 'really' don't like another's arms so far. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to the live performance as it really disappointed me and that's all I can think about when I hear it. The special coming up next week where they perform the album might change my mind. I am hopeful! Their music used to move me. The guitar and piano. I am not 'feeling' it like I used to. As for this song, it catchy but not what I hoped for. Chris' lyrics are terrible and there isn't enough of a coldplay stamp on it. My 7 year old son adores it and sings along. Did Chris unconsciously cover his wedding ring in his The Voice promo pic? Almost completely covered up. I am saddened by the news. I really feel for the kids. Can't be easy for them especially as children of celebrities. Yes they may have money and ppl get divorced everyday but there is added pressure. I really hated a few of the lyrics on glass of water. That's when it all stared for me. Then etiaw just made me embarrassed. Paradise was also bad but I think it worked with the song and i didn't mind as much. Magic is pretty poor but once you fall in love with the sounds the lyrics don't matter as much. I like the idea that these are songs that were resurrected. I recall before mx came out they tried an acoustic album that didn't work. I wonder if some of these tracks came as a result of that. I love how they get us speculating on so much. For mx I followed all the interviews and felt like it all made sense when the final album was released. They seem to be keeping quiet or maybe I have some more googling to do. ;) Chris seemed so vulnerable last night!! But with midnight he really got into it and seemed more comfortable. I remember the first time I heard studio HLH. I actually laughed out loud at the sounds that didn't translate live. Excited to hear the polished finished product. Agreed. We have to be patient. Magic seemed too stripped down at first. Now I love the simplicity of it. Performance wise Chris needs to either sit down at the piano or pick up a guitar; or figure it what to do with himself on stage. He has too much energy and had to channel it somewhere. Hope to see him as emotional and into it as he was with midnight on the edge of the stage. Love that he's literally feeling the music. That's what Coldplay is all about for me. I just watched the performance from sxsw. I was hoping to be emotionally touched but I think they were nervous and Chris is uncomfortable performing the slower tracks - he just can't figure out what to do with himself after their last tour. The lyrics so far are super cheesy. I thought I was being too judgemental but I see many feel the same way. Hate to say it but it sounds like something my seven year old would write. I suppose the easier and catchier the lyric, the more the appeals to the masses but for someone who adores coldplay (the good and the rarely bad) I hope the rest of the album has some more sophisticated poetic lyrics. Chris hasn't always been the best but he had improved so much! As for the sounds I am hoping for more piano. I know it doesn't suit the album title per se but I hope to hear more of an organic, classic sound than the synth sounds etc. I am still optimistic. I remember I didn't adore mx until about a month later but the whole thing grew on me quickly. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They look like little boys again, especially Chris! This is all so exciting. How many people said WTF when they saw that email from The Coldplay Messenger? My jaw hit the floor. I swear I thought Midnight was just a single like Christmas Lights. Then the whole ACL show and SXSW, it made me wonder. This is really exciting stuff. My son says he thinks Magic is Coldplay's best song ever. Granted he's almost 7 and very wise for his age; I do like the song, but I have to hear the album as a whole before I decide. I am super excited to hear the rest of the album.

Maybe this summer doing some little shows like they did for MX. I will never forget Coldplay Live at the Lot at Much Music. Best live music experience ever.

Does anyone have the fully unedited version that aired live, interruption-free? My kids love to watch it on our PVR, but its a super old model and I need to return it to Rogers. I can't return it until I get this precious video off!! Any suggestions about where I can get it would be great...or better yet, instruction on how to get it OFF my ancient PVR at home!!

Stupid iPhone didn't capture my last section about ringing in NYE sorry. So the few did an incredible.job tearing down the mx set eve. One guy laminated the end of the stage for jayz. Unreal. So with one min to go before 2013, jay Chris the kids and gwyneth came out to dance. Gwyneth stayed on the side sipping champagne while the kids sat until we were al showered with a billion balloons, so many we couldn't move in our seats! Was really epic! Then Chris was dancing with the kids onstage with jayz. They went back to the VIP section with mom. Not sure when they we home but Chris came back out to do one more song with jayz. I knew about 60% of his songs, really entertaining. Jayz looks like a really nice guy sincere smile. Overall nice guy. Handed out two bottles of champagne to the front rows on either side.
