you know, if you were to make your opinions of people based on what the tabloids say, the chris hating boat should be long gone.

wow! GS hasn't gone platinum yet in US. with no tour supporting the release any more, the chances of this going platinum seem slim now. with some artists selling more albums than they have done, think this is more of an indication of the decline in popularity for coldplay or album sales in general? i think it is a bit of both combined with reduced promo compared to the last 3 albums.

you know what would be really interesting? if guy and will took on a more of a songwriter role. i can't imagine what kind of genre songs written by them would sound like. it certainly looks like chris would be open to the idea. or i hope the band would take on more of lead in driving the sound of the songs (which seems to have happened in certain songs before).

and regarding chris' seeming influence from top40, seeing that the concerts he seem to attend on his own choosing are not necessarily bubblegum pop (kol, ed sheeran, prince, the stones, springsteen, etc), chris mentioning these top40 acts in top40 radio stations is mainly speaking to the audience. doesn't necessarily mean that is his main inspiration. wish we could hear from the rest of the band more to balance this out. and btw, i agree that the next lp is probably more upbeat, anthemic, celebratory. but whether it would be very pop-ey is to be seen. sadly, i think it would be. if so, hopefully pop done tastefully without being over produced. speaking of, how awesome would a whole official collaboration album between coldplay and jon hopkins be!

The last time Coldplay performed in this area was back in 2009 when they headlined an initmate charity gig for only 500 people at Exeter Castle and all profits were donated to Mencap! We think Coldplay deserve a much bigger audience than 500 people which is why we want to convince them to come back to Exeter for a live concert at Powderham Castle. Once all of the bills have been paid we will be splitting the profits and donating it to four different charities which will be chosen by the band. This campaign comes at a time where the multi-platinum selling band have just celebrated the release of their sixth UK number one album, Ghost Stories. Chris Martin the lead singer who originally hails from Exeter is also currently being nominated to receive the Freedom of Exeter Award. As well as Coldplay there will be a number of support acts lined up and if you're in a band we want to hear from you as there will be an opportunity for you to perform in front of thousands of people. We're currently in discussions with different venues and will be contacting Coldplay to let them know of our crowdfunding efforts so stay tuned for the latest updates. Stars unite for BBC Music collaboration Filming took place at Alexandra Palace in north London Stars including Pharrell Williams and One Direction have recorded the Beach Boys track God Only Knows to launch the BBC's new music initiative BBC Music. The song was broadcast simultaneously on Tuesday on BBC One, Two, Three, Four and Radio 1, 2, 4, 6 and 5 Live. The track, which will also be released in aid of Children in Need, features 27 artists across all musical genres. They include Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Chris Martin, Sam Smith, Brian May, Jamie Cullum and Nicola Benedetti. BBC local and national radio stations, BBC World Service, 1Xtra, 4 Xtra, Asian Network and BBC iPlayer and iPlayer Radio also came together to play the song at 20:00 BST (19:00 GMT). BBC Radio 3, the BBC News Channel and BBC World News were due to air it shortly afterwards. BBC Music will encompass TV and radio programming, digital services and schemes to support emerging talent including the introduction of classical music to UK primary schools. The song's original writer, Brian Wilson, also features on the track, along with the BBC Concert Orchestra. The collective group of musicians has been named the Impossible Orchestra. honestly, if it is true, all you can say is good for the kids. obviously they are the priority. the rest of what the so called 'sources' say are just gossip. the only thing that is to see since the separation is that both love their kids.
