i agree it was a golden era. but just to level things out from not-so-fans' perspective (obviously i'm a fan!), viva era was an era that was so hyped up and promoted, like mentioned before, it as hard to escape. you can't do that same promotional level every era or people would get fed up quicker. i'm talking about just one aspect here. we all loved it to the max. but for the casual listener, it may not have been a good thing :)

just because they are not touring, doesn't mean they are not working. with what has been out so far, it is pretty clear, that coldplay have been busy since the mylo tour.

i think that they have realized that coldplay need some promo to keep ghost stories alive a little bit more as was the case in other albums. what with the lack of touring, it has already started slipping away, if not it has already. and the scrutiny on his personal life is much less than what it was when GS came out. and he seems to handle personal questions much better than before now. and i'm sure he is as private as ever, but he will handle these questions more gracefully than before.
