did anyone else notice a major change in the atmosphere around here? it was mostly doom and gloom till last night :laugh3: serves us right for judging musical output of an era by a glimpse and some dodgy quotes from chris. btw, there is still some room for the doom and gloom to blossom. we haven't heard the other 8 songs yet. but it's so nice to see the positivity at least for the time being.

yeah, really loving the simplicity. this definitely is a curve ball from the general lack of genuine emotion expressed in a none contrived way in the recent songs. btw, saw you didn't like it batty :) give it time. maybe the album version would change your mind. really didn't care for amazing day at the beginning. now it has grown to a pleasant song.

i'm really glad that coldplay gave up on one annoying eno lesson - limiting song length to <4 mins. i am starting to see the value of stargate in this setting a little bit more now. otherwise we might not have gotten 6+ min album closer.

the irony being, u2 doing coldplay doing u2, in the last u2 album :laugh3: it's an infinite two-way cycle!

i really didn't want to listen to the songs again. but couldn't help with up&up. now i want to hear it again :) it is a wonderfully upbeat song! it really does give you a finale vibe.. one that we haven't gotten from the band in an album closer before.

up&up sounded absolutely gorgeous! not too sure about ahfod. but have to listen to them again. will wait until at least a good quality video to do that. or better yet, till the album comes out.

according to sparky, he is away from the keyboard right now. we'll wait and see.

hahaa! zero love for GS huh? not even being streamed. the positivity someone mentioned gone the minute it was time for GS. :laugh3: for me, GS is all about midnight, ghost story and all my friends. fly on, magic and oceans are ok. but you gotta give props to that gut wrenching off key guitar solo in true love. love that! also except for the too-poppy, disney-ness of the song, i appreciate it for the contrasting theme that the song builds up. there is a great theme in there, that's executed very poorly.
