  1. Anyone wanna go see Oasis when they come to the US? NJ preferably lol. https://x.com/historyrock_/status/1941322789530763396
  2. I was wondering if anyone else here would feel that way about🌈 lol. Is it supposed to be a preview for future music? Seems like it. Chris's lyrics are certainly the weakest point here, no specific nitpicks on that really. I went out last night and the radio at the place I was at played Talk. Strange timing.
  3. Hello old people who might still tune in, leaving a fun question for you. Top 10 Choruses I don't actually have a list now that I think about it but I felt like leaving a post after listening to Square One again. That would probably be one of them.
  4. Even if I flip flop on which is my favorite. I think VLV is the culmination of talent and execution from the band.
  5. I'm all for pushing for worst album of the year if there is any chance it'll finally hit Chris that being not afraid to work in whatever genre you want isn't a free pass to phone it in while your label imports chart viability from South Korea.
  6. And you know what, one more thing. I don't think Chris understands how to handle criticism at all. Many times he's dodged the question by saying "we're making it for people who like it"....ok? That doesn't mean the music can't be criticized or impervious to people not liking it. This is like the 5th album where he's said something along the lines of "we don't have fear anymore". What fear? Afraid of making shit music? Maybe you should be afraid. But I guess when the concert tickets have pre-pre-sales it's insignificant. Coloratura and Human Heart are cool though, I'll take any hymnal tracks they make. When I Need A Friend was a highlight of EL for me.
  7. "Spheres’ new single, “My Universe,” featuring K-pop kings BTS, who might be the only humans better at scaling the charts than Max right now, debuted at the very top of the Hot 100, scoring Coldplay their second-ever American No. 1. Their first was 2008’s “Viva La Vida,” a song that tactfully expanded what Coldplay could sound like after the creative dead-end of their third LP, 2005’s X&Y. Back then, Chris described Coldplay’s ethos thusly: “We can’t possibly get any bigger, let’s just get better.” The clamorous immensity of Spheres suggests the band’s philosophy has been inverted: Coldplay can’t top what they’ve already done artistically, but maybe they can score several billion more streams anyway." well said pitchfork
  8. well speaking of that Shiver performance, here's the full session just watched it, good stuff
  9. there's something so cursed about the late 00s moving from film and tape to digital distribution. We have these amazing high quality sessions from 99-03 and then all of VLV is bitcrushed 240p from BBC iPlayer or some other service that didn't think far enough ahead.
  10. A Ghost Moses if that counts Whatever the original version of ALIENS was during VLV/MX Maybe So Sad just because we got a taste of it and that was all.
  11. Proof is what I imagine Coldplay sounds like to people who hated Coldplay in the 00s
  12. Got this framed finally, if anyone knows where I can get an original lithograph of the other 3 let me know. The new "lithographs" are pretty bogus. Sorry about the angle, trying to not appear in the reflection lol
  13. This one slipped by me until now, amazing quality for the time https://youtu.be/fulQv0bpZZw
  14. Negativity is our specialty here. Really though, song is fine. If it was playing on shuffle I wouldn't step out of the shower to change it, but just barely. More than I can say about a handful of post VLV. I would put this under Orphans. My biggest gripe is Johnny once again is woefully underutilized. Really everyone is on this. Kick Chris (nothing personal) and these producers (very personal) out for another year.
  15. I read some of the comments on social media about the new track from what seems like younger fans (do they "stan" Chris now? lol) and it made me think...do they get teased in school about liking Coldplay? That used to be a rite of passage.
  16. was a bigger fan of the first Birds really
  17. Chris's voice really sounds great when he doesn't have to do 200 shows in 3 years
  18. Church was my LEAST favorite track lol, In fact I like every track aside from that, and maybe Orphans but it's still catchy.
  19. you could really just slide in prospekts march on this album and no one would notice
  20. ok it's out on deezer and I'm listening its the good stuff
  21. Ah shit it leaked ok I'll come back after the 22nd
  22. If anyone just caught the SNL performance of Everyday Life it sure sounded like an X&Y b-side. Looking forward to the album tbh.
