  1. I could see it coming off as hostile to someone reading it without proper context. Also that question could take a while to answer, even with 20 minutes it could have eaten a lot of time (not that I would have minded). How could he not love the juicy bass line he wrote on it, I hum along with it every time.
  2. Most of those skills will come with time. All I can say for Clocks is really try to focus on the leading note of each triplet and duplet because they are usually the place in the measure you're changing a note in your melody. I find bobbing my head along sometimes helps. Another way to get used to it is playing the triplets as chords (Eb, Bbm, Fm) while singing along, it makes playing them for real much less of an effort.
  3. I always find it easier to focus on the accented beats in each measure for Clocks, those being 1, the upbeat of 2, and 4. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and Singing should be your brain's focus particularly for Clocks. Hope this helps :) Reference: maybe almost 9 years of playing Coldplay music for funsies
  4. Oh my god my head is spinning from all the possibilities Never knew Guy didn't like Talk, kind of a bummer seeing as it's amazing live. Twisted Logic would be so cool to see live with all the lights flashing. Prospekt's March (obviously) is a personal favorite, great song for the C-Stage. Green Eyes HAS been played recently but it really need to be played more often. Everything's Not Lost is probably never coming back but I'll dream a little bit. Politik and Amsterdam are two I wanted above all but I don't feel like they could fit in the setlist in a way they deserve.
  5. Fingers crossed it isn't a frantic mess like 2012. Felt like I was being spun in circles for over an hour.
  6. Anyone wanna share some of their favorite live performances? Really love the camerawork for this. No need for multiple angles and crazy pan shots. Just Chris and his guitar. (And one baby pan at the end to squeeze in Jonny and Will)
  7. Viva exists as a single to most people. Coldplay is very much still "that clocks band" to a LOT of people I've overheard or talked to.
  8. I'm honestly convinced most of the US believes their last album was X&Y. So the halftime show should be an eye opener for most.
  9. Were The Nappies a warning of things to come? Oh god they knew all along.
  10. Fix blatant production issues (crunching cymbals on AOAL, overall small soundstage and overpowering synths.)
  11. What the heck is a goldplayer Excuse the forum newborn, forgot I ever had an account.
  12. The Guardian found someone on staff who LIKES Coldplay? Last time I checked they were one of the big long time haters.
  13. Like everything else in the last 5 years of his life Pop music
  14. If you're just talking about the album it's AROBTTH. The Viva Era though was THE grand celebration in almost every way. Incredible (2nd to AROBTTH in this discussion imo) album that felt new and music and themes that felt unexplored by other musicians. Live performances and publicity was above and beyond anything before it and really just put them on another level.
  15. Regardless it's horribly produced. Ripped the wavs from the CD and played it through my setup and it's far and away their worst production. Which is pretty hard to believe when you have MX. Will's cymbals on some songs are crushed beyond repair. It's unbelieveable it didn't get picked up.
  16. Those bands are hardly rock. Much more like your average 2010s "alternative" band.
