It's very possible I've already posted this but, has anyone seen the AXS TV special called Rock Legends? They have a fairly recently made one on the band but I'm always at work so I can't catch it and I'm surprised i didn't see anyone mention it. I'm sure it's just a modern version of those old creepy unofficial docs made around 2002-2006 but I'm curious either way

I would recommend downloading everything off that "sara" channel asap because a lot of that is not going to stay up for long. I got world stage 2009 and will check to see if there's anything I'm missing or possibly a higher quality version.

I'm not a fan of him (politically) but I liked his voice, I don't think they (band) were looking to make any statements.

I can't agree, how is it a "nice version"? Because they decided to play it? There wasn't much else nice about it. I think we give them way, WAY too much slack live. If The Rolling Stones can still put on a show why can't Coldplay play a 10 year old song right? Right now Yellowcard is on their final world tour and from every video I've seen they're as good as they've ever been and haven't missed a lyric or cut out a verse from a 20 year old track. All Chris says is how much they love their jobs and they love their fans but perform Swallowed in the Sea like they don't even realize they wrote it. It sits even more uncomfortably with me when I get home from a day of work and see they performed an old track, just to find that it's the WORST version I've ever seen of it. It's quite literally his job to get it right.

Seems like Christmas Lights is intact though. In my mind that's the final Oldplay track.

I feel that the electric guitar in the beginning just prys away one of the best bits of the song. If we had the scope exclusively on Coldplay, that riff is iconic and the electric guitar doesn't really represent it well. The rest of the song pushes Jonny's guitar out of the limelight, it's almost like everyone is trying to compete to be the center of attention on that version. As usual I forgot, if I remember I'll get it tonight and let you know if I have an issue. If it makes any difference Chris butchers the lyrics pretty regularly and the tracks get cut short, I don't see any excuse for it. It's disrespectful to us and really anyone who has any type of investment in the performance or band.

Someone please download that, I will in a few hours when I get home but I'm not trying to take any chances.

I'll be honest, even when I saw them in the US I thought it was kind of strange. I figured eventually someone wasn't gonna be ok with it. To be fair I don't think it's particularly respectful to tuck it in your back pocket or leave it on the ground behind you a few songs later.

I'm fearing the EP more than anything. Just seems like another opportunity to drive the wedge further.

All these acoustic performances recently make me think we're getting precisely that. Maybe a new track but I'm not expecting it. Prospekt's March and The Blue Room are out of their scope anymore imo.

Pretty good, better than the album version. I don't particularly like how dense the piano track is at times but the verses are nice.
