  1. I got into them when I first heard 'Yellow', which was quite a while ago.
  2. My definite favourite is 'It's All Too Much' For those who don't know it, if you've seen Yellow Submarine it's the one near the end, before the live action bit with the real Beatles. Anyway, it's a superb song. Other favourites: A Day In The Life Tomorrow Never Knows While My Guitar Gently Weeps I Am The Walrus I Want You (She's So Heavy) Strawberry Fields Forever Happiness Is A Warm Gun I'm a sucker for their more surreal, psychedelic stuff.
  3. I don't remember reading or hearing anything saying Feeder were copying Coldplay.
  4. Labour are the lesser of two evils. While I don't trust Tony Blair, I trust him more than I do Michael cocking Howard. Every time I see that man's face I just want to kick it. I can't take a word he says seriously. If the Tories get into power again, the economy will be shot to shit. In the election, I will vote for Liberal Democrats. But I voted Labour here because it seems unlikely that the Lib Dems will ever get into power, so I thought I might as well choose between the two that are more likely to win.
  5. - Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Champagne Supernova
  6. it's shite. if that's the best they can give us after 3 years, and out of those 50-odd songs they supposedly had to choose from, then I'm worried.
  7. Jeff Buckley His voice was absolute perfection, in my view
  8. Every new indie or brit rock band is being labelled the new Coldplay? Razorlight The Ordinary Boys Bloc Party The Futureheads Kasabian Franz Ferdinand Babyshambles The Kaiser Chiefs Precisely none of these new indie bands have been (or can be) compared to Coldplay. Mediocre bands that do get compared to Coldplay (like Keane or Embrace) are quite deserving of it. Granted, comparing Keane, Thirteen Senses or Embrace to Coldplay is like comparing piss to champagne... But there's no doubt they are trying (and failing) to imitate them. So no, it doesn't annoy me.
  9. Love life Non-existant. Job I'm at Uni full-time at the moment, so I'm unemployed right now. But I need to find a job for the Summer. Hopes Just hoping I can get all my Uni assignments done and in on time, and make sure I get a good enough grade to pass this year. Morals Dunno really. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes I come out with some pretty immoral jokes, but that's all they are - jokes. Sometimes people forget that. Politics While I don't agree on some of their policies (e.g. top-up fees), and they've really stuffed up on some things over their term, Labour seems to be the best option for the next General Election. Out of principle I won't vote for Conservative. Because [a] the rich get richer while the poor get poorer and I can't take Michael Howard seriously at all. And while the Liberal Democrats have a lot of policies I agree on, I don't think they've got enough experience to be able run the country (although I'd rather it were them than the Tories).
  10. neither do I, but I like coffee people always look at me weird when I tell them I don't drink tea
  11. If it were given half a chance What potato would not dance?
  12. The Butterfly Effect 8/10 I watched it with a different ending this time (the US one, I think), and it wasn't as good. The UK ending is better I feel. Ashton Kutcher still managed to surprise me though. I would never have thought he could give a performance as amazing as this.

  14. American Beauty 9/10 I nearly forgot how brilliant this film was
  15. My favourite has to be: Jeff Buckley - Live in Chicago Radiohead have a live VHS, but not DVD. It was recorded at the London Astoria in 1995, around the time The Bends was released.
  16. I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I think people buying strings based on which ones their favourite band uses is fucking ludicrous. My advice is always go for the ones you feel most comfortable with - the same goes when buying any guitar equipment. Pretty much all my favourite guitarists use Ernie Ball Slinkies. In my experience, they're shit. I use Rotosound .11's. They're cheaper, last longer, sound better and you get a second top E string for free.
  17. It's a bit shit really, isn't it? Nothing happens. The lyrics are boring and predictable. The solo's dull. And according to Noel, it's "the most poppy thing they've ever done since Roll With It", and it's "annoyingly catchy". What a load of bollocks. If this is the best they've got to offer out of those supposed 50 odd songs they had to choose from, then I'm extremely disappointed with this.
  18. 'Ichi The Killer' 7/10 Two hours of extreme ultraviolence, and a pretty good plot too
  19. Bob Dylan - Mama, You've Been On My Mind Perhaps it's the color of the sun cut flat And covering the crossroads I'm standing at, Or maybe it's the weather or something like that But mama, you been on my mind I don't mean trouble, please don't put me down, don’t get upset I am not pleading or saying that "I can't forget you." I do not walk the floor bowed down and bent, but yet Mama, you been on my mind Even though my mind is hazy and my thoughts they might be narrow Where you been don't bother me nor bring me down in sorrow I don't even mind who you'll be waking with tomorrow But mama, you're just on my mind I am not asking you to say words like "yes" or "no," Please understand me, I have no place I’m callin’ you to go I'm just whispering to myself so I can pretend that I don't know Mama, you been on my mind When you wake up in the mornin' and look inside your mirror You know I won't be next to you, no, I won't be near I'd just be curious to know if you can see yourself as clear As someone who has had you on his mind
  20. Coldplay - See You Soon So you lost your trust And you never should have You never should have But don't break your back If you ever see this Don't answer that In a bullet proof vest with the windows all closed I'll be doing my best, and I'll see you soon In a telescope lens and when all you want is friends I'll see you soon So they came for you They came snapping at your heels They come snapping at your heels But don't break your back If you ever see this Don't answer that In a bullet proof vest with the windows all closed I'll be doing my best, and I'll see you soon In a telescope lens and when all you want is friends I'll see you soon I know you lost your trust I know you lost your trust Don't lose your trust I know you lost your trust
  21. Radiohead - 2+2=5 Are you such a dreamer To put the world to rights? I'll stay home forever Where two and two always makes up five I'll lay down the tracks Sandbag and hide January has April showers And two and two always makes up five It's the devil's way now There is no way out You can scream and you can shout It is too late now BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION And I try to sing along But I get it all wrong Cos I'm not And I swat 'em like flies But like flies the buggers keep coming back And I'm not All hail to the thief All hail to the thief But I'm not Don't question my authority Or put me in the docks Cos I'm not Go and tell the king That the sky is falling in When it's not Maybe not
  22. I prefer Oasis generally, but nowadays they're just nowhere near as good as they used to be So Coldplay wins for me. I'm really not expecting Oasis to give us anything worth listening to this time.
